If I would've said that at the end of the 2021 season Dak would be ranked smack dab between Kyler Murray and Derek Carr none of ya'll would've been jumping with joy about it like you seem to be now.

Being between Kyler Murray (A gimmick QB) and Derek Carr (a good QB, but nothing special) is nothing to be proud of, guys.

Expect better.

We won't know if Jimmy is correct until Dak gets great talent around him. You know.. like and actual good defense and a line that works well as a unit and not one that gets great PFF grades despite allowing 2 and 3 defenders to run free into the backfield on most plays. And I don't even need to look it up to know that Dak has somehow helped his team carve out a winning record over the last 3 seasons despite a BUNCH of people telling us that Zeke sucks. Then there is also a large contingent that insists that Amari Cooper and CD Lamb are also vastly overrated.. but again.. guy finishes top 3 in the league in passer rating.. and wins 12 games.. all while dealing with a variety of his own injuries as well as with a revolving door on the line in front of him.

As for Dez's input.. Both you and he probably know that 90% of Dez's catches from Romo came when he was covered right? Do I have to explain to you the irony of wanting a guy who frequently threw into coverage to "train" Dak on reading coverages? I love Dez.. but I don't want Gunslinging Tony anywhere near Dak ..

Right! That’s why I hate these threads. Do I think Dak is a bad QB? No. Do I act like he’s incredible? No. He’s a good QB at this point who can win you games but has trouble against top talent/big games. It’s the Romo knock. I’d put him more 11 or 12 but that’s 2-3 spots so nothing to name call about. Real HOF players have expressed concerns as I quoted. I have the same concerns especially since like what…correct me if I’m wrong..like 2 QBs have ever made their first SB after year 6.

I agree with you, except I do not think Dak is a good QB. I think he is an average QB. He can have pretty stats at the end of the year, but when you put those stats in context their just not very impressive. He'll fools gold people for a few weeks and they'll buy in (I've been guilty of this too), but with Dak the carriage with always turn back into the pumpkin. He cannot sustain it and he certainly can't do it against good competition.

We're entering year 7 with Dak and some here literally think he's all of a sudden going to be this elite QB. Rinse and repeat every year. They think too much with their hearts and not their brains when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. Clueless and delusional I tell ya.

For Dak to climb into the top 5, he will have to run. That one portion of his game was pretty a non factor. I get it that coming off an injury of that nature the team would be leery of him running too much but looking at others they all will pull the ball and take off running. Dak this season did not.

A studs core of WR (Dez or Coop lamb) and a HOF TE (Witten) and the league top HB(Zeke) and a top 10 defense and all he accomplished was one playoff win the last 6 years.

I skim these threads and think to myself..... do any of you guys work, have a family, a significant other? Any hobbies? Do you get outside? When's the last time you've thrown a football?

Don't you get sick of rehashing the same points over and over trying prove a subjective point?

I like Dak, by almost all accounts he's a top 10 qb. Sure he makes too much money, but all football players do. Each year atleast 1 qb is overpaid because his contract is up. Accepting that, there's not much we could have done besides be put in qb purgatory like we were between Aikman and Romo.

Dak is our best shot. In another thread the OP has tried to convince us that tanking for 3 years and drafting a new qb after releasing Dak is a legitimate strategy. Does anyone take this guy seriously? If so...dont.

Dak finishes 9th:

Dak's play sunk after a Week 6 calf injury, but his struggles ran deeper than the injury. "I wouldn't say it lingered as long as people gave me the excuse of it," Prescott said on The Rich Eisen Show during Super Bowl week. "I went through a period of time during the season where I just didn't play my best ball."

After Prescott's fast start to the season, his inaccuracy and tentative play made for one of the most inexplicable stories in the entire league. He still mixed in enough boffo games to finish with strong stats, but the bar is higher for Prescott, considering his teammates.

Seems about right. Impossible to predict whether moves in either direction despite some posters thinking they have the answer. Dak can - and has - played top 5 ball, but he can also play middle of the pack at the position. The O-line must get fixed, though. Watching Burrow succeed with a terrible line is an outlier and is unsustainable (see: A. Luck).

One thing I'm sure of: Prescott will put in the work to realize his potential, whatever it may be. That's all you can ask of any athlete.

I'm with you 1000% the tank and start over isnt a realistic strategy. I do think however that Dak is somewhere in that #8-12 range as far as QBs go. Good news is that we should be able to expect to consistently be in games and probably be north of .500 ball more often than not as long as Dak is here. Where I agree with the Dak haters though is what chance does this team have come post season time? The 8th, 9th, 10th, etc QBs go from being top 3rd of the league to bottom 3rd.

It's tough because i understand both sides of the debate. I completely understand the thought process behind if you dont have a top 5 or so QB being more open to turnover at the position to keep the team around the QB position established. Continuing to find a middle tiered QB is harder than we think though.....as we saw from Andy Dalton last year.

This is not meant as an attack on you though and I apologize if it came off that way. It's attack on people getting these narratives locked in their heads and spouting them as fact without doing 5 minutes of homework.. and then having a few hundred idiots cosigning the fallacies. The fact of the matter experienced QBs are far more likely to get to the Super Bowl than the kids. But the narrative is that you gotta have a QB on a rookie deal or you have no chance. And people keep repeating it despite all the factual information to the contrary. Mahomes and Wilson are the only two QBs in the past decade to win a Super Bowl on a rookie deal. Though I guess technically you could count Flacco since he was on the 5th year option of his. I guess 3 out of 10 are better odds than 7 out of 10 in this debate? If that's what people wanna believe then who am I to rain on their parade. But I would flunk any math class that tells me that 30% is greater than 70%.
