I don't think you know what that means in some circles.

BTW, No one cares that you are straight either.

Anyway he was always a pretty obvious gay man. This has been known for a long time from what I understand. His choice to make it public wasn't needed and even if someone else broke the story it would garner the same reaction from me..."So".

Really? Nobody cares that I am straight? The funny thing here is you are clearly missing everything I am saying because of that statement.

Not that there is anything wrong with it. :laugh2:

That's pretty insensitive and inappropriate.

and so what if they did? Again who is this news to? People want to put themselves on center stage fine but frankly it reeks of self importance as if his gayness will change anything for anyone

His gayness will probably carry some weight politically speaking.

How so people are not going to change their views pro or con based on Anderson Copper being gay or not. Unless he plans on reporting the gay spin on issues instead of just presenting the facts who cares.

If they want to help their cause they may want to stop throwing these gay pride parades and dressing and acting like freaks. Funny I have worked with gay people who find those parades offensive and a setback. Many want to be treated normal like anyone else then these parades takes place that only stoke the stereo type many want to escape from

Kinda like how "People of Walmart" are embarrassing/offensive to those with a more traditional sense of fashion who also shop at Walmart?

I bet they are also proud of who they are and don't give a crap what you or anyone else thinks.

It takes all kinds, but it's not our place to tell people who they are and are not allowed to be.

Well that is just what they are, like the joke about the "shoving it down", which actually is much more appropriate for straight people.

The fact is he is a major face in the media, now a major gay face in the media. He works for CNN, a major political center obviously. He may not campaign to swing votes and things like that, but just the simple fact of having another key figure as a face in their movement is huge. Everybody has some sort of spin on something; they don't just simply present the facts.

:laugh2: I say whatever I want. I certainly am not out to hurt folks, but Im not going to take a back seat and not give my own side on things. Those who get offended need to get some thicker skin.

That is fine, I have no dog in the fight but if you display yourself as a freak people will look at you like freaks and there are many gays who find it offensive and a set back because they get sweep up in this stereo type. Many want to be seen like anyone else the only difference is who they go home to.

It doesn't mean much to you, me, or any other straight person but to a gay teen it might mean a lot.

why should it, if we are all sying we are equal and some posters are happy AC is coming out for all the right reasons, how are we equal if we dont treat everyone the same?

Would she be happy for me if I came out straight?

How many straight parades have u been too?

When do we stop enabling and just say "its over"

How? He is not there to sway voters or people but to present facts. Journalism use to be about presenting facts of the story both sides of issues and allow the audience to make up their own minds not to guild people to the news persons way of thinking.

Do you obligate yourself to thinking those thoughts when it comes to people of a different sexual orientation?

I didn't bring it up, he did.

I didn't ask his sexual orientaion, and I didn't splash mine all over the news.

Everybody just acts like it's normal though, and when it's called 'gay', it sounds like holding hands and running through a field of flowers, .. when in actuality it is disturbing and disgusting.

Now every news channel presents things in support of their political vision. Do you really think channels like Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC are unbiased?

We must all stay divided or there will be problems. When will folks ever figure this out? We can't move forward because of the ramifications of being united. Holy moly this nation gets along?
