Hos,

What round do you think we should/will pull the trigger?

I'll admit I know very little about this guy expect for I have read in here the last couple of days.

In mine too. It shows maturity and even a bit of the character people think is missing.

"There is no chance, no fate, no destiny, that can circumvent, or hinder, or control, the firm resolve of a determined soul." -Ella Wheeler Wilcox

He sounds like a determined man. I'm in favor of 2nd chances.

A determined man? Maturity and character? 2nd chances?? Seriously what are your Ahmad Brooks agent or something? I don't want this felon anywhere near a dallas lockeroom.

This propaganda may appease the majority of the sheep in your pasture....but it don't fool The Answer!

Didn't mean to put you on the spot, just wondering what you were thinking. Now I'll know how to react tomorrow when I learn of what actually happened. Thanks!

If it turns out we don't make an offer for him, I will be fine with it. Unlike some of these jabronis shooting their mouths off.

If you want to know how much I care what you do and don't want I've got an experiment for you.

Take a bucket, fill it with water, put your hand in the water. Now pull your hand out of the water and look back at it. The hole left is how much I care.

I hadn't considered this before, but something Cowlishaw wrote triggered the thought. At the end of this season we have potentially 3 big Free Agents to re-sign.

1. Jason Witten
2. Roy Williams
3. Bradie James

The top 2 guys will get big contracts. If Bradie has a big year, he's going to want one too and rightfully so.

Getting Brooks is a buffer against having to pay Bradie a huge contract if he outplays him, or is insurance for 2007 if he asks for too much and we have to cut the cord.

As much as I like Bradie, and it's a lot, we could be rolling the dice here.

I'd get Brooks if it were up to me. The potential reward > than the potential losses. Passing on him could also mean we're going to be looking ILB again in 2007. Not a risk worth taking IMO.

The only problem I'd have with that line of thinking is that if James is good enough to earn big money then we will know zero about Brooks come next season anyways. We will have committed a pick from next years draft towards him so it may mean actually passing on a much higher rated replacement in that draft. If we are looking at ILB next year let's do so with all our draft picks.

Right now with Kevin Burnett, Akin Ayodele, Bobby Carpenter, Bradie James, et al in the mix I see no reason to assume Brooks can even make the team. The depth guys(Boiman, Shanle, Fowler) are all excellent special teamers with NFL experience as starters.

In the end I believe Brooks is probably too 1 dimensional for this team to even seriously consider drafting with anything more than a 5th round pick.

No need for the HOSTILE responses....The Answer will be satisfied when tomorrow comes to pass and the front office at valley ranch doesn't waste a pick on a position we are already deep at. Let the Miami Dol-felons grab this joker Brooks...he'd fit right in there!

Then don't ask me or respond to me. Your schtick isn't interesting and there's very little chance I'll be civil to it.

...LB prospects in college eligible for the draft next year? That would probably play in the decision making of whether you would want to chance a first day pick on Brooks.

Is he better at this point of his career than any of the college prospects when they come out next year?

Paul Posluzny of Penn State is the no doubt top LB. I haven't studied many others yet, but I will.

He was top 10 before he got hurt last season. he'll be top 10 easy next year. This kid is possibly the best LB Penn State has ever produced. That's saying a lot.

nfldraftblitz has these:
nside Linebacker Rankings

1. Patrick Willis, Ole Miss - 6'2, 230
2. H.B. Blades, Pittsburgh - 6'0, 240
3. Oscar Lua, Southern California - 6'1, 245
4. Dedrick Harrington, Missouri - 6'4, 240
5. Mark Zalewski, Wisconsin - 6'2, 236

I like Lua and Harrington alot, know little of the others.

The PSU kid is a physical freak with a work ethic so you can imagine he'd be quite coveted; maybe as much as Lavar coming out. With a last name like that and from the northeast BP would be all over him if he had a pick high enough, ROFL.

ILB - historically are drafted lower than most all positions.....

Top ILB's next Draft

HB Blades, Pat Willis, Bishop, Desmond carry 1st to 2nd round grades but will slide.

Paul Paz the Penn kid is a 6-2 230 pound OLB. Rather useless in our scheme. Big name for now.

There may be a thought to turn Brooks into the next Keith Traylor. I'm a GM that's what I'm extrapolating on the kid.
