We have very strong QB room. Its a strength of the team. We could use a developmental guy.
Next years QB's are better.
Yup, the next DeNucci may slide to us in the 7thI'm feeling a quarterback today.
Always room for the next Nooooch!!Yup, the next DeNucci may slide to us in the 7th
This thought makes perfect sense if Howie Roseman was the Dallas Cowboys general manager. He isn't though. He's drafting out of Philadelphia. The same guys here saying not to take a quarterback in the first 3 rounds are EXACTLY a the same guys saying “ it’s not easy to find the next franchise quarterback” , whenever we discuss moving on from Dakota
of course it’s not easy , IF YOU DONT DRAFT ONE HIGHER THAN 4th!!!!!!!!!
I mean, your so off its comical. Your not even worth discussing. Enjoy your misery. LOLWhatever you say Jerry.
Tell me you don’t understand football and team building without telling me you don’t understand football and team building.Levis was there at 1, Hooker at 2.
Depends on what Dak does. If he gets worse, no doubt next year qb is taken early. But if the team falters for reasons other than Dak's failures, I could also see Jerry thinking (still, sigh) that Dak's "good enough".Depending on what happens this season, I could see a QB being taken next year round 1.
Some of this fan base will never see the real problem as 99% of the sporting world does, so give up addressing the problem.Sadly it's all window dressing as long as Dak is here to keep intercepting and sliding our way out of the playoffs.
QB is not a need. That would've been stupid.Levis was there at 1, Hooker at 2.
It's stupid to address the most important position in sports?QB is not a need. That would've been stupid.
Exactly. Because understanding that team building BEGINS with the QB position and this team doesn't have a CAPABLE one to win championships with.Tell me you don’t understand football and team building without telling me you don’t understand football and team building.
Dak over Dallas fans know nothing about the QB position and the importance of it.Exactly. Because understanding that team building BEGINS with the QB position and this team doesn't have a CAPABLE one to win championships with.
It's printed plain as day in the NFL team building 101 handbook, lol.
Coaching OR team support changes can not fix his deficiencies.
Epic post.Jimmy Johnson/Jerry Jones Era
Troy Aikman/Drafted 1989 first round as rookie franchise quarterback (Johnson influence)
Steve Walsh/Added in supplemental draft 1989 as QB1 insurance (Johnson influence)
Bill Musgrave/Drafted 1991 fourth round as quarterback depth (Johnson influence)
~Aikman retires/team lacks franchise quarterback~
Jerry Jones Era
Quincy Carter/Drafted 2001 2nd round as rookie franchise quarterback (veteran Tony Banks booted to prove the point)
~Tony Romo takes over as franchise quarterback~
Isaiah Stanback/Drafted 2007 fourth round as a wide receiver
Stephen McGee/Drafted 2009 fourth round as quarterback depth
Dak Prescott/Drafted 2016 fourth round as quarterback depth
~Romo injured/Jones & Jason Garrett do not reinstate him as starter/Prescott takes over as franchise quarterback~
Mike White/Drafted 2018 fifth round as quarterback depth
Ben DiNucci/Drafted 2020 seventh round as quarterback depth
Above is Dallas Cowboys history at the position during Jones' reign as general manager. And for some totally illogical reason, some observers believe/think/hope influences like Will McClay, Mike McCarthy, etc., will motivate Jones into investing a DAY 1 or DAY 2 draft pick at the position with an established franchise quarterback on the roster.
Forget history. Disregard history. Be purposefully befuddled.
Day 3 was always the logical beginning of expectation for the team adding a quarterback via the draft. Which player does anyone hope will get picked up later today?
Depends on what Dak does. If he gets worse, no doubt next year qb is taken early. But if the team falters for reasons other than Dak's failures, I could also see Jerry thinking (still, sigh) that Dak's "good enough".
But also no doubt Dak's on thin ice, even Jerry will eventually tire of the lack of playoff success...
