I say bring on the hate.

yes we understand that they run(at times) and you have to be in better shape than you would to just walk im just saying it is not an amazing distance. now in my research(quick google search) i saw that some player can end up running 13 or more miles in a match but it isn't common and thats a little more impressive.Cythim;3446055 said:When I say they are doing quite a bit more than power walking I mean that they are actually playing a game versus just going out for a stroll. The distance covered on the field is just one of the athletic aspects of the game. If you consider the heartrates I provided and not just the distance you would know that soccer players are completing the 6 miles at the anaerobic level (like you find with competitve runners) versus the aerobic level (like you find with fitness walkers).

I hate the flopping, but it pales in comparison to the racism, which I simply cannot stomach.
yeah that and the violent influences of soccer: Saddam Hussein torturing the Iraqi World Cup team after their loss to the U.S., fans killing fans in England and Ireland during and after games, fans killing referees after their team loses.....and you say football is violent?Hostile;3446513 said:The racism in soccer is really the most galling thing about it to me. Explain what you mean by it being a racial sport.

Google "racism in soccer" and see what you find. Put the same search on youtube. There is tons of visual evidence.nyc;3446542 said:I suppose I don't pay that much attention to soccer. I thought it was *THE* International Sport which would make it hard to be racial for the most part.

yeah thats the thing is that FIFA(or anybody else) does nothingnyc;3446565 said:Thanks for clarifying.
Thats just ignorant. I would eject any fan participating in that type of behavior. If he had season tickets, they would be terminated immediately.

It is without a doubt, the most racist sport in the world because of the fans.
They make monkey sounds when Black players have the ball. According to some they hiss when Jewish players have the ball; a reference no doubt to the gas chambers. **** flags are displayed and all kinds of other utterly grotesque displays of outright racism.
The "beautiful" game is marred by the ultimate ugliness.
Is it the sport that is racist? Or the fans?Hostile;3446590 said:Google "racism in soccer" and see what you find. Put the same search on youtube. There is tons of visual evidence.

There are elements of racism in football too.
I went to a basketball game when I was in high school at a rival town, and there was a noose in the rafters. The fans on the other side liked to get the attention of our black players/fans, and point to the rafters. Does that mean I should hate basketball?
good to know but no its not enoughethiostar;3446623 said:That's not entirely true. You can argue that they were slow to react or they didn't go far enough once they did act but you can't say FIFA or anyone else has not done anything.
