If we hired Ron rivera or Garrett I'd tune out permanently. I've even heard that we could circle back to McCarthy if no one hires him. That would also be it for me. We seem to be an unserious organization. Laughing stock. I can't do it anymore if we make those hires I mentioned. At least shotty offers experience. Other than that, hed be a bridge to the next guy. My expectations are very low

stand up for your team in many ways, they don't have to be winning Super Bowls or they could be in the middle of a bad year ,

IT doesn't mean you can't stand up as a fan you do have something to argue what do you mean you have anything to offer up ???

the Dallas Cowboys have 5 championships, and the eagles have ONE, it's not what have you done for me lately, they have not been winning a bunch of Super Bowls, just because they seemingly are slightly above us over a certain or given time, does not make it to where they have bragging rights.. You do realize we beat them twice for the division recently it's not like they're dominating us when we have a healthy team... They have a single trophy, that's it we have 5 Jerry Jones has three on his own.. I know it's been awhile but it took the chief 56 years to get back to winning like they are now the eagles only have one trophy in 60 years...

so I realize we're in a 29 year drought but it happens there are some teams that have no Super Bowl wins they have no Super Bowl appearances there are things you can debate and there are things you can stand up and have a backbone you're either a fan or you're not you shouldn't be hate to be wearing your jersey or your hat even wearing a losing season because you can bring these things up we have this we have history we've had two dynasties that's our history and we will be back when we get back...
The 5 Super Bowls or the America's Team argument is old and uninspiring. I have always hated the America's Team moniker because it just puts a target on our backs. Sports are all about What Have You Done for Me Lately and trying to throw the 5 Super Bowls argument at an Eagles fan doesnt mean anything when you havent even been to an NFC Championship game in this century. Not to mention we have the ineptitude and egotistical ways of the owner which means there is no calvary or turnaround coming to save us. No Super Bowl in 30 years and nothing good to look forward to sucks. If that makes me a bad fan then so be it.

I have been quasi-tuned out since the 2023 loss to the Packers in the wildcard round. They won't spark my full interest again until they start making smart football decisions and parlay that to looking like a contender on the field. It's looking like this is going to take a while.
This right here is exactly what I started doing beginning last offseason and now like you said gonna be blah for some years

Looks like it's gonna be the worst choice possible in Brian Schottenheimer. Unbelievable. In the process of looking for a new team to root for when I have rooted for this one for 54 years. Sucks but can't take it anymore.

Hello Fellow Sufferers. 30 years of futility is really making me apathetic with my Cowboy fandom. Last year's debacle of an offseason caused me to cancel a trip to see the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. I refused to give Jerry Jones one penny of my hard earned money. That would have been my first time seeing it and was really looking forward to it. I live in Eagles country and their dominance makes it even worse. I didnt even watch a Cowboys game last year until Thanksgiving because I was so disgusted with the direction of the team.
Which leads me to my question: Is there a Head Coach hire to replace Big Mike that would cause you to throw up your hands and say no more? At least until Jerry Jones is no longer calling the shots? For me, it's Kellen Moore, Brian Schottenheimer or Jason Witten. Any of those 3 as our head coach tells me it's gonna be more of the same moving forward. Jerry Jones does not wanna get better, he just wants to retain control and bring in someone that allows him to do so.
Any of those 3 become the next coach and that's it for me until Jones is gone. Anyone else this disgusted? Which hire would cause you to throw your hands up and walk away?
Kellen Moore.

You know what you don't have to agree with me I'm telling you in my opinion it is still a good argument it's not tired old and uninspiring this is what it is to be a fan of a historical teen that's had multiple dynasties and at the very least we are still competing hard most of the time I don't need to your or anybody else in here's opinion about reminding me of the timeline you know how old and uninspiring and tired argument that is you bringing up the NFC championship game drought or the Super bowl drought it's the same old nonsense that's why the argument still stands because when you turn on your own team and you start bringing up these narratives about the drought and then you tell me it's uninspiring tiring of talking about the trophies I'm telling you that I disagree with you that this will always be the debate our franchise from 1960 to present is better than the eagles because they only have one we're better than all the teams with less trophies it doesn't matter right now what's been going on because it took the Kansas City Chiefs 56 years to get back that was a longer drought by the way it's worse too because when they were the Dallas Texans and move from the Cotton Bowl and move to Kansas City and it was their first year in the new merged NFL that used to be in the AFL they won the very first Super Bowl in the merger and then it took them 56 years to get back that's like Dan Marino going to the Super bowl as a rookie and losing and never getting back..

My point is this is that hard I liken it to this you wanna use this argument maybe you don't but as a fan and I'm arguing with you now this is a debate I still have pride in being a Dallas Cowboys fan regardless of what's been going on in the last decade or more but there are only three teams since 1989 that have three or more Super Bowl wins and that would be the three dynasties New England Dallas and yes the new Kansas City flavor of the month they are the new dynasty these are dynasties these are not other teams catching up the Cowboys are still top three in both the way Super Bowls are stacked we were the last team that have three since 1989 other than those two we still are in the top three all time why is that if this drought is unusual if our absence from these big games is that unusual why is it that we still can brag because nobody else has caught up to us and taken over our spot..

But you do realize you're on a Dallas Cowboys fan forum right and now you're arguing like you're an eagles fan and I have to sit here and defend my team you're now old and uninspiring and tiring that is I'm telling you right now I'm as disappointed as anyone but I treat this as a year to year affair and then it becomes a week to week affair during the game on our schedule and then I take it from there I'm refreshed and ready to go yearly and you know it you just don't know when it's our time like I said 56 years for the current Kansas City Chiefs it took them that long to get it worked out and back in the cycle and our cycle will come back around it always does..
Again, I'm not disagreeing it's very disappointing to not have been to an NFC championship game in this long without a lot of things go wrong but it doesn't change the way, I defend my team, it never will ,
if you're being that easily persuaded from being a fan and having nothing to debate with rival fans, I feel bad for you you're letting this, get to you I'm not letting it get to me I can be disappointed and still be a diehard Cowboys fan...

I am definitely not an Eagles fan. I hate that team with a passion. You might feel the same way as me if you lived in the Philly area. Maybe not. Either way, you are a better man, or, at least, a better fan than me. I admire your perserverance and dedication to the Star.

Maybe you missed the point you're debating with me like you're an eagles fan I don't care that you're not if I have to come in here and vehemently defend my team against my own fan base that's a sad day but I'll keep doing it if one person has to be the voice of reason then that's what i'll do... I don't need to live in the Philly area you realize when I open up these pages or go around on social media and have my own fan base talking like their rival fans and I have to keep defending my team tooth and nail I don't need to live in the Philly area and yes I'll give you that it probably is tougher living amongst the enemy , but I would still sit at a bar having a beer and I was still defend my team even if there was a bunch of eagles fans in there but I would do it respectfully so you don't get in a big fight you know where it comes down to where we're all arrested for assault LOL

And by the way I think you missed some of the points 'cause I sometimes are using talk to text and they're long winded rants if you use my philosophy my perspective is if you treat this a year to year because the roster changes the coaching staff sometimes changes sometimes there's a lot of injuries there's a lot of factors that change things on a year to year basis you wouldn't have to fall back on these stupid drought narratives.. I realize the narratives have facts in them I do realize that it's a real thing but it doesn't need to be constantly brought up by our own fan base we get it we know the timeline we don't need to be reminded on a regular basis how long it's been..

But if you take this as a year to year affair and you treat it like a week to week affair during the season while the games are being played it's easier to deal with if you keep bringing up what happened five years ago 15 years ago and 20 years ago and then the Jimmy Johnson thing comes in and I thought we put that the Ring of Honor we're supposed to lift the curse right but look it it gets tiresome we do have to fight our own rivals fans and it's harder and harder to do but we have to fight our own fans it's exhausting...

But yes I will continue to do so because when I say I'm a die hard cowboy fan it's the fact which is odd because I'm originally from the New York New Jersey area my parents brought me to Arlington when I was 10 years old my first game I watched, and the irony here is it was a loss it was Danny white losing to San Francisco with the catch in the back of the end zone that was the very first game I watched and I started becoming a fan then and it was hey quarterback controversy even back then even though I was too young to understand it Danny white was not a good quarterback he had an upside down touchdown interception ratio in the playoffs he had a close to 500 touchdown interception ratio in the regular season he was on a great team but he was not a good quarterback at all people say he was but he wasn't the man was Jay Cutler but because he played with that roster they ended up in three or four straight championship games but they lost them they lost them all and it was because of him LOL

and yet I still became a fan even with the team on the verge of becoming bad and then selling the team to Jerry those eight years or so was when I became a fan so I'm used to it my fandom started with a controversial loss with quarterback controversies and this is what you are when you're a Cowboys fan everything is magnified 100 times over..

Been a Cowboys fan for 45 years, but have given up the notion of the Cowboys returning to the Super Bowl once Jerry forced Jimmy out.
The Cowboys are at the mercy of Jerry Jones’ ego and his propensity to hire coaches who won’t draw attention away from him as the face of the franchise.
Therefore, Dallas will always hire the unqualified, the retreads, the burnouts; those that won’t challenge, or usurps Jones’ authority.
The Cowboys will never hire the coach that they need to flourish and reach their potential; they are among one of the NFL’s most talented teams, but one of the most undisciplined and seemingly always unprepared in the biggest games.
So whether the new coach will be Moore, Shotty, Deion, Witten or whomever else…does it really matter? Jerry has established a dysfunctional culture and a false sense of entitlement that no coach will be able to reverse.
