So we can't base Henson off a preseason game against backups, but you can judge Romo off a week of practice against Dallas backups?

Huh? I'm saying you CAN judge Henson off this preseason game.

Reading comprehension helps

Randall Cunningham is physically a more talented player than Aikman, yet you maintain you'd take Aikman without thinking twice.

Ouch.....

you are seriously delusional...you and nobody but Cunningham's mom could possibly believe that

and there's not a GM around that'd side with you

Henson is flat out not ready to run an NFL offense.

Watch the last 2 preseason games - thats against real talent. Forget the guy in 4th quarter making numbers against #85 on roster.....

I'll bet you a bust in the chops that Bill Parcells says after the game (good play or bad) that HE can't evaluate after one pre season game.

You in?

Winner busts the loser right in the chops. Loser can't retaliate.

Cunningham was stronger, faster, had a stronger arm, the only thing Aikman had on him was accuracy. Physical talent was Cunningham's thing, Aikman's career was built on accuracy, timing, and smarts, not physical ability.

Romo is outperforming Henson to date and thats clearly undebatable.

So what? Nors, how many time need you be reminded that Henson's roster slot is safe? He is an investment that won't be tossed out this year no matter what, and the new throwing motion factor will buy him even more time.

Tony is in competition with himself, and Mr. Speedial. You know that. If can't show he can provide reliable back-up, he's got a problem, regardless of what Henson does

Those that had unrealistic expectations on Henson playing last year are reeling.

LOL Who's 'reeling"? I see us former unrealistics settled down and taking things in stride.

Now the mantra is lets watch the preseason games.

And is that so bizarre a suggestion? ;)

Clock is hardwired and ticking.

:lmao: Another Norism, signifying nothing.

Parcells going into camp said when he'd decide on backup. That is now 7-10 days away.... He already knows what he's doing. I'll sit back and get the popcoarn and watch this as it unfolds!

Yes, 7-10 days and we will know TR's fate. A sincere good luck to him.
But we know Drew Henson ain't going anwhere.

Akili Smith and Ryan Leaf might have been more physically gifted than Troy Aikman.

So your point is...?

And he's signed for, what, six or seven years?

That's a lot of time to devleop. ;)

I think its six more years after this one unless he takes 30% or more snaps this year, then it's only 2 years. (total 8 year deal accellerates to 4).

when was Cunningham stronger? when was Cunningham's arm stronger? Aikman made intermediate throws with accuracy and velocity that Cunningham could never dream of...as for faster, dont know what Cunningham ran but Aikman was a 4.6 guy at 220lbs coming out of UCLA

he was a better scrambler, but who cares? I want a QB who can read defenses, get rid of the ball quickly and accurately and gun it when he needs to...all those factors go into QB "talent", and Aikman was one of the highest rated prospects ever in those areas...

After one game you will admit you are wrong? Thats what I do not get. One preseason game is not enough to judge. If Romo stinks and Henson does well I will not be calling for Romos head because it was the first game. I think everyone needs to sit back and let everything work itself out over the next few weeks.

Thanks for proving my point!!! My point is you dont always take the more talented player, you take the better player. Sometimes, you do take talent because they are better, sometimes you dont. dbair unintenially gets owned by someone trying to support him :lmao:

If Henson is great and plays well, then I was wrong about him being a bad QB. I have no problem saying it. Evcen if it is preseason, you have to be fairly good to play a great game as a QB.

Sorry, but that is NOT the only thing Aikman had on Cunningham.
