Anybody else still wishing we would have taken a RB in 3rd round?

Please don't interpret this as being critical, but why are you raising this question now?
The running game wasn't our problem Sunday night. The offensive line was opening huge holes. Our problem was turnovers.

Second, T.J. Yeldon was taken at the top of the second round. He wasn't available in the third. Tevin Coleman hasn't made anyone forget Adrian Peterson when last I checked.

And we just acquired CMike, who I believe will be the lead back by the middle of the year.

We're 1-0 now, and we're going to ram the ball down the Eagles' throats.

Chillax. :)

I like the way you think.

Yeah, same regurgitation of the team's answer.

Throw in an RKG reference and win a blue star sticker.

There is zero chance, Z.E.R. FRIGGIN. O., we will look back at the 2015 NFL draft in 5 years and not see a better RB still on the board at our 3rd round pick than the collection of crap we already had on the roster.

Maybe. But that information does us no good when the draft was last May. The bottom line is the Cowboys think they drafted Free's replacement, stayed true to their board and did not draft a RB that had little chance of upgrading our skill at that position. Got nothing to do with throwing in a RKG reference. In 5 years you look back on this draft and all you are doing is playing Monday Morning GM with the advantage of 20/20 hindsight.

Well, you hit on a good point. We can't just focus on the backs. It's also about what Green does.

I think we'll look back on that pick as a mistake.

All three rb's looked good last game. Not worried right now at all!

I thought they did too. And then when you consider that none of them got any considerable playing time in the preseason, you realize these backs are actually still being integrated into the offense. We just need a little patience. That running game may surprise us.

Tevin Coleman had 20 carries for 80 yards for....you guessed it....4.0 ypc. No receptions.

Randle had 16 for 65 yds or 4.0 ypc with 3 catches for 42 more yards. He gave the team 107 yards on 19 touches.

I was in the draft chat when the Commanders took Matt Jones and most were either asking "who?" or laughing at the reach. Now we're lamenting it after 1 game? And Karlos Williams? There was literally no one clamoring for him pre/post draft. If you want to nag about not having Coleman, then hate Gregory because thats who we would have had to pass up to get him. The Cowboys were not trading a 3rd and another 2nd to trade up and go get a RB. They could have just traded for AP at that price tag.

I was clamoring for Karlos Williams pre and post draft fwiw. Thought he was the most Demarco like guy in the draft but his production was up and down.

Still think that decision might come back to bite us. Why didn't we take Matt Jones or Karlos Williams, or try to trade up and take Telvin Coleman? I'll admit not many knew how good Karlos Williams might be, but everyone was aware of the talent of Jones and Coleman.

Trading up for Coleman might've cost our 4th round pick, but I'd trade Green and Wilson for Coleman.

You are not Awakened. Your eyes are firmly shut, from what I read. Change your name to something more representative. It'll be less confusing.

Because this staff, that you trust and Risen still doesn't believes in this kid. Simple as that. What you say?

I don't think either DMac or Randle are adequate replacements for Murray, not that any of them or a draft pick can repeat what Murray did last season but at least keep our running respectable. We actually have folks defending our running game in another thread and we didn't even crack 100 yards on the ground. But hey, Randle had a 4.1 YPC average so all is OK. Thank Romo. Once again, he hides all this team's flaws so we can look at some all-22 and see the silver lining from our running game with a winning slant.

The bigger question is Green and where he was picked. We spent a 3rd round pick on a guy who won't see the field because he's injured. That's mind boggling. His 2nd year will be spent acclimating himself to the game and we may not see what he has until year 3. That's just not acceptable (from a philosophical standpoint) from a 3rd round pick.

So you'd rather have them than Randy Gregory??? Not me. They look ok, even good for some, but Gregory looks to become a game changer.

they're not here to replace murray, they're here to manage the running game. no ONE player is here to replace murray and i still want you to name ANY SINGLE RB TAKEN in last years draft that would give you a warm fuzzy, other than we have a new name to kick around and hope for.

well, we have that now in michael. it can easily be argued that he's better than what we could have gotten in the draft AND has that vaunted (2) years experience you're waxing upset about for green. so in effect you just contradicted yourself in some mad effort to stay angry about not drafting a rb.

have fun.
