Are we past the "pinch-me if this is real" phase on Miles?

Pretty weak backpedaling, but not surprising. If it's five posters or less, then it's really not worth your time or bellyaching, right? Right.

I did not back pedal one bit. There are "idiots" on this board and some of those same or new "idiots" will turn on Miles at some point.

You bellyache a plenty on this board so if I want to bellyache about something I think I can. I mean for goodness sakes you are bellyaching about my bellyaching.

Correct, there are annoying extremists on both sides, except that the pro-Tony cultists (i.e. those who wouldn't trade him for any QB in the league) far outnumber his critics, which means they don't have much cause for complaint. If the cynics have to tolerate the booster club, then quid pro quo.

ok - then let me put your question back to you.

show me the posters who wouldn't trade tony for any other qb in the league. i understand and agree that those who want him gone are likely small in # but LOUD in voice and that's valid if you wanna rip into someone's argument for just making assumptions.

so don't go making one yourself - and maybe you've not, i just would like to apply that same standard in return.

I still need a little more proof, I'm one of his biggest supporters but I'm a realist too. I want to see what he does against Philly and the Giants.

I think we've already proven that the so-called "idiot" contingent is pretty sparse, yet for some reason they consume a lot of your attention. If Tony has a bad game next week and I start a "Where are the Romo lovers NOW?" thread, I'm guessing that would rightly annoy a few people. Yet the defamatory/baseless "Where are the Romo haters?" threads don't seem to bother you one bit. I guess that's just part of being a good "fan."

What gets me is you actually think the two threads are comparable.

That there would be "Romo lovers" on a Cowboys message board is not surprising. That there are Cowboys fans out there, even if they are a small but vocal minority, that could be considered "Romo haters" is just insane and quite frankly makes you wonder if they're really even Cowboys fans.

In no sense should both threads be treated the same.

Beats me. You're welcome to dig up those threads from around the time Cutler was traded. The Tony crowd (of which I am a member, within reason) vs. the Kitna groupies is hardly a fair fight. Sort of like throwing a kitten into a dog pound.

It is an accumulation of this place and just the overall slams of Romo. Heck just recently Aikman and Staubach talked about understanding what he is going through and how tough it is in Dallas for a QB. Yes there are people who will defend Romo but just like Danny White there are more out there slamming him at every turn.

We didn't "prove" anything I never said there was a large contingent.

How about this you do what you want and I will do what I want. If I choose to make fun of idiots who want to cut a guy as good as Romo then I will do it.

If they want to make a fun of me because Romo has a bad game and call me a "blind" homer then so be it.

If you want to continue to bellyache over my bellyaching then do it. Like I said, you have bellyached plenty. Some things I agreed with and some I did not, but does not change the fact that you do it and are doing it now.

TonyRomo#9

i agree, what cowboy fan, has a problem with a handsom charismatic fun guy, who happens to be the 3rd highest rated QB in history, with the 4th highest passing yards per attempt in history, and soon to be the second fastest to 100 TDs behind only marino.. believe me, if we keep weapons around him, the rings will come.. ask marino if all you need is a QB to get a superbowl ring, or ask trent dilfer if you need one at all.. winning rings and playoff games is a team sport, you can't put it on romo, his numbers show that he is laying it all out there for the cowboys.

I try not to judge stuff like this till the end of the season.

If he has 1200+ yards and 10+ TD's.. Well I'll be a believer.

Until then tho, He's crushing my opponents in my fantasy league so I <3 him.

They're comparable in their obnoxiousness and fundamental lack of honesty. Yes, believe it or not, you can love this team or certain players too much--to the point where you become blinkered. Conversely, dissent around here is routinely written off as "hate," and it's got to stop. BTW, I have never seen a "Where are the Tony lovers?" thread, but I have witnessed plenty of the opposite. http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166398

You're exactly right. You never said there was a large contingent. He just claimed that your argument was a "strawman" and very clearly it wasn't.

Just wondering why you're so thin-skinned. You're never going to achieve unanimity of opinion, so why waste your time? And the fact that you do so on a virulent pro-Tony board, where you have an army of his supporters to back you up, is hardly the definition of "courage." In fact, it's just the opposite.

P.S. If you want others to "post in peace and go their own way," then stop throwing the first punch.

Oh, it's not large? Then what the hell is he complaining about? Five or six people who are drowned out and pounced on by a thousand "see no evil" shills? If so, he's even more paranoid than I realized. I see now why you never became a litigator; you're a lousy defense counselor.

Why would Romo doing good bother anyone?

And why would anyone want to celebrate when he does poorly?

Oh wait ...... I know.

so if someone says people are negative and want romo gone, you can say that's a strawman argument without numbers to support it.

but - you can then say SO MANY MORE PEOPLE wouldn't trade romo for ANYONE, yet you don't have to go get those #'s.

the ones you wanted someone else to get.

from strictly an unbiased viewpoint, you just refuted an argument by demanding more details and facts (and that's fine) but you turned around and made your own strawman then it doesn't matter.

this is part of the frustrating thing for me is people use standards to fit their views, not across the board as a whole.

Good question. Ask the obnoxious "hater" posters after a good performance.

They don't seem to exist; certainly not in large numbers. This place has more straw men than Oz.

Oh wait ...... I know.

As usual, you don't.

he also turned around and did what he just rejected.

many people want romo gone NOW
prove it - show me more than 2-3 or this is just a strawman argument

ok - i can related to that cause i believe it to be true. people do let the vocal have more numbers than their actual numbers give. human nature we can all get caught up in.

but -

many more people won't trade romo for ANYONE
prove it - show me more than a few....

no.

kinda ironic really.
