Are we the team to beat in the NFC East?

Yea, but had our own losses to FA. Did we get better in coaching? I dont think Zimmer is better than Quinn, Mccarthy a lame duck. Cowboys have to hope their 2nd and 3rd round picks start producing, but history says otherwise
who doesnt need their draft picks to work out?

Both Philly and the Cowboys have some question marks. Hurts had his struggles and Philly collapsed the final few weeks of the season. The Cowboys will be depending on a number of young players due to several free agent losses and their inactivity in free agency. Philly has clearly done more to improve than the Cowboys, which gives them the edge heading into 2024.

Hurts has had 1 good season. Hold Hurts to the same standard people hold Dak to and wed all say he stinks. No way the Iggles win 12 games unless Hurts has a much better season.

The Eagles could have been8-9 EASILY last season.

Im still not sold on hurts as a passer. Matter of fact, youre qb can only run so much before injuries start catching up. Hurts threw for 23 td passes last season, this isnt 70s, nothing impressive about that.

They could have EASILY been 15-2 again. They were 10-1 with a win over KC before the wheels unexpectedly started coming off.

uummmm....You are what your record says?
yep, and they were 11-6, the 5 seed and lost their 1st playoff game. Nothing special. They scored 433 and allowed 428... that is hardly a very good team, while Dallas outscored their opponents 509-315 which is MUCH more indicative of a 12 win team.

It was unexpected. I watched several of their games. They were leading many of the power rankings until the wheels started coming off. They beat up on Miami when their offense was looking unstoppable. They beat KC and Buffalo in back to back weeks. They weren’t blowing a lot of teams out but were finding ways to win

They were the same as the 2022 Vikings who won 11 one score games in 2022. Law of avgs catch up to you in the nfl. But yea.... they found a way to win, until they didnt.
Thye had an absolute collapse, yet everyone in here views them as the model to follow.... ok, whatever.

This is a question we should revisit about the 5th game of the season.

The 72 Dolphins are arguably the greatest team ever and all they did that season was win close games. There’s a lot of parity in the NFL these days and you have to find ways to win close games to be a championship team. KC won the SB in a very close game. Hurts had his struggles last season and Brown was bickering, which led to a lot of their problems later in the season. Once it started going bad they couldn’t stop the bleeding.

Unexpectedly? They were very lucky in several of their wins.

The 72 Dolphins were in the middle of a 5 years stretch where they were as good as any team in the NFL, including 3 straight SB appearances. I knew those 72 Dolphins, and the 2023 Eagles were not close to those Dolphins.

Two very different models that have led both teams to win a lot of games, but yeah I'd rather take the Philly model. Since 2017 both teams have 69 wins, but while we have had to settle for two playoff victories in that time frame, Philly has two super bowl appearances. They take more gambles, but two different coaches and two different QBs have made the big game under that model.

I don't think there is a team I want to see go winless more than Philly, but I have to respect what they're doing there.

They found ways to win. They were 10-1 with wins over Miami, Buffalo and KC. No one expected them to end up 11-6 after being 10-1.
