Solid video on whether to pay Dak or not. This pretty much wraps up all the CZ talking points into 1 video.
Can't I be both?

true, but with our offensive support have we ever seen a Gabbert look bad?A draft is far from certain, especially picking at #18. There are a lot more Blaine Gabbert level players that get drafted than Pat Mahomes level players.
I feel I am both. I'm sorry I don't have any major issue with Dak, I have watched him continue to develop and improve in his play. I feel this team can win with him under center and those who feel different not much I can say to change their minds nor do I really care about changing minds. In all the years of being a Cowboy fan the one thing I am certain of is until or unless you win a SB as QB you will come under fire by many of the fans. They say the game of football has changed yet fans do not and have witnessed 1st hand be it Meredith, Morton or Romo and Dak. People want a championship and until the QB and the team win it all their will be those who will blame the QB.
I can tell you being a die hard fan since 1965 through today there is no question about being a Cowboys fan.
They're not likely to get either of the blue chippers and they've been good in the 1st with the safest picks, OL. A bust at DE and a CB with 2 picks in 5 seasons. And the jury is out on the true spinal health of the LB.How many of these teams qb's were top picks sir? You're telling me about the discount depot guys they brought in but when they start drafting 1st rd bust like they were bringing in them other rounds I think you'll have a point. I'm talking about getting a 1st rd talent and recently they've been pretty good at that outside of two pics.
Overthrows happen. I have followed Jameis since high school. His biggest issue is that he is always trying to go the extra mile. He has questionable throws. But his turnovers come when he's trying to constantly press for big plays. His idol is Farve. Brett is the all-time leader in interceptions. He just had a very much "Bad Brett Year" tons of passing yards, questionable interceptions piling up to lead the league, and ton of touchdown passes to even it out.How can you want your Jamies overthrow guys and watch him throw picks and say it’s not a accuracy issue? Fabre was a gunslinger. Jamies makes bad decisions and has poor accuracy. I’m not taking him over Dak. No way in hell.
I feel like we can win with Dak too. I just don't feel like we can do it without a lot of good players around him because teams with truly elite QB's who are paid can't do it.
Dallas couldn't do it with Romo either.
So far paying the QB means kissing your championship hopes goodbye. Especially a slightly above average guy like Dak.
I'm talking a Super Bowl too. What the goal should always be.
LOL, he was the worst player on the offense not named Connor Williams.Dak will and should be the Cowboys QB for a long time.
He was the best player on the team this year.
He is a top 5 under 30 QB in the NFL.
That is your view. Fact is Brees is a HOF and how many SB has he gone too? It takes a QB it also takes talent to win it all. Yes Dak has some talent around him so does every QB out there. Mahomes has a boat load of talent, he is very good but he also has talent that is why the team is winning. QB is important but it takes more that is why some of these greats are not winning SB or even making it to the SB. Fact is Dak is going to deal with this and be questioned until or unless he wins it all.

I’m not a Winston fan. With Zeke you could cut down a lot of his mistakes or any QB for that matter.
Oh I agree. That's why I don't want to pay an average QB all that money.
I know Dak could win a championship but it's going to take a lot of good pieces around him.
Im not a Dak basher and I actually believe he could end up doing awesome with MM, BUT Winston is interesting. He obviously has talent, he needs to be coached towards consistency and better decision making. Having him on a cheap contract isn't a bad idea even though youll get trashed for saying so.
The problem is giving up on Dak isnt smart imo. I am way to familiar with what followed Aikman and throwing away a promising young qb is a massive gamble.
In a perfect world we could tag Dak and sign Winston to a short term back up deal. Let them compete and go from there. The monumental problem with that idea if how a guy who has inarguably over performed his rookie deal, yet been a consummate pro and never once complained or mentioned holding out would handle us doing so. Also would the locker room percieve that as a lack of loyalty? Perhaps that kind of message would serve to make things extremely competitive and not so complacent though.
Oh I agree. That's why I don't want to pay an average QB all that money.

Isn’t that what it takes to win a Super Bowl? Great pieces around your qb?Oh I agree. That's why I don't want to pay an average QB all that money.

I agree on the Joneses but if they are giving MM all this rope maybe if he decides a first rd talent slips they like they could get them. Its most likely they do resign him but since I think he's Alex Smith until I get that breaking news alert I'm holding out hope he gets treated like his football twin in KCThey're not likely to get either of the blue chippers and they've been good in the 1st with the safest picks, OL. A bust at DE and a CB with 2 picks in 5 seasons. And the jury is out on the true spinal health of the LB.
There are other QB's that they could get, Herbert, Love, Fromm or Eason but even Herbert, who was considered level with Lawrence at one point, has some warts. And Tua has that ? lingering about his ability to stay on the field.
I think there is a factor in this that we haven't considered enough. Big Mike interviewed for 12 hours, how much of that time do you think they spent on the QB, the one the Joneses want to keep? I don't think any HC not on board with Prescott as his guy would have been considered. The Joneses don't look for disagreement or enlightenment, they want verification.
Winston just lacks the intangibles. That's what really separate Dak and Winston. Maybe it will get different when he gets closer to 30 but my gosh that guy is really not who you want to be the face of your team and Dak is a CEO type of QB.

If they are still at the impasse of the years of the deal, they might have to tag him. They're trying to stay out of what they know is coming, 40-50M QB salaries or you stick with a QB in his 1st contract.I highly doubt they tag him.
His going or staying isn't an issue for me either. I've overlooked Sanders, Irvin, Hardy, Owens and remained a fan, Prescott's a good guy and not anything like them, I am not leaving because he gets overpaid or not paid at all. I've spent too much time watching this franchise play too many crappy games for one player to affect me either way.To answer your headline question, I am a Cowboy fan. I have outlasted all of my favorite players and still root for the team. If Dak leaves, I will still be a fan of the team.
