I always thought polls were for trying to find the truth of things, or at least the truth of what people think. Keeping that opinion out reduces that truth.

Defining things in only back or white.

I guess we see it differently and that is okay. Guess I won't participate then.
Exactly! People who do not have opinions on a poll simply should not vote in it. As I have said, there is nothing wrong with that.

If I see a poll asking if the Detroit Lions will win their division this year, I am not sure so I would not vote in the poll.

If I added easy out options like "I'm not sure" or "Maybe" or "I don't want to be wrong so I pick this option", a majority of people would select those even if they were leaning one way because they want to avoid being wrong.

As I have always said, you can vote or not vote in the CZ Polls, but either way you can share your opinions and thoughts in the CZ Poll threads.

The CZ Polls though are designed to gauge the opinions of fans who actually have opinions on the topic and want to share them.

I will probably post another Dak poll during the season and perhaps by then you will have formed an opinion on him or at least started leaning in a direction enough to vote then.

I am shocked at how close this is. Dak may not be an elite QB, there are very, very few of those in the world. But IMHO, he's pretty good and we can definitely win with him at the helm. I think we'd have a very hard time finding a better player than Dak Prescott, that's actually obtainable.
The same poll opened soon after the 2021 playoff loss ended with over 80% 'no likey Dak' result.

Timing is everything.

My take from this is the amount of support he has lost over the last couple of years. I'm pretty sure the no-votes were in the 20-30% range 2 years ago, now it's almost 50%.
I remember it being just the opposite. Dak got eviscerated in the last poll, on the heels of the PO loss.

I didn't see this post until after I had already posted my opinion on the topic so It had nothing to do with your challenge. But as you see, in my response, I don't support Dak returning as our starting QB. He's too careless with the football. He needs to compete for his job like the rest of the team does at training camp. Give Cooper Rush an honest opportunity to win the starting job. Good point. Coach Landry made it competitive with Morton and Staubach. Jimmy Johnson made it competitive when he drafted Aikman and then turned around and drafted Walsh.

Cooper Rush has no shot at beating out Dak. We had virtually no passing offense with him. Our offense was ranked in the mid-20s during the five games he played. We won games with our defense and kicker. CeeDee was a disappointment with Rush. Once Dak returned we became the highest scoring offense in the league and CeeDee started producing, looking like a number one receiver.

If you would like to spend time going back to look be my guest.

You made the claim so you provide the post where you wanted to draft Hurts. I saw no one on this board wanting to draft him three years ago. It made absolutely no sense to draft him, Dak was playing great football and we were negotiating a contract extension with him. Dak missed five games last season and still threw more TDs than Hurts. Cowboy fans would never be happy with Hurts with the numbers he puts up.

Cowboys defense did more than enough to win that game. Joe Burrow under center wins that game because he's good enough to make up for the deficiencies in the run game/OL... He picks up the slack by picking up the passing game,,, savvy?
Does he when all he has is Lamb? we dont know that to be fact, his current group of WR's is HEADS and SHOULDERS above what weapons we had in that playoff game..now that is a fact.

Can't go back that far in my posts on my phone. Maybe my computer but I'm outta town right now. Dak wanted too much money and hadn't produced well enough outside of pounding the NFC east teams.
Hurts was the equivalent and would of been on. Rookie deal. Dak hasn't performed that well in the playoffs. Yeah we know he scored a lotta points against the GB 31st ranked defense but they still lost and there was points he left on the field by having to kick field goals.
Zeke won that Seattle game. Dak made one play for a long run on 3rd and 14 and it sealed the game because he was choking like crazy throwing. Rams game was just pathetic. The defense was getting gassed in the first half unable to stop the run and Dak can't even put together a few drives for them to rest. Either 3 and out or throw for a first down on 2nd down and than go 3 and out.
Hurts has win more playoff games in his short time in the league than Dak has done in 7 years. And you are right if Hurts came here and did what Dak is doing Id be leading the charge to get him outta here.
Dak needs to play this year out and Jerry can let him go when he chokes away the next playoff game.

But i do have a firm opinion about it. You've just made it so i cant share it.
You are worried about intellectual dishonesty....on a cz poll? So it would be okay to randomly pick one, but "unsure" should never be an option?
I dont get it....but....your poll.

THIS season hasn't started so I won't answer the poll. Last season the answer is no, better play from the QB position and the team would have had a legit chance to at least be in the Superbowl.
No. Better play design and scheme would’ve helped. How many 2nd and longs did we start drives with? How many 3rd and longs did Dak get us out of. Dak is not perfect, but what QB is.

some of these guys would start Cooper Rush over Dak.. they literally just dont want to see Dak no matter how he plays.

You can most definitely share your opinions .. in this thread or any thread on the site!

Not every poll is for everyone. If you do not like the options in the poll then simply do not vote for any of them and that is perfectly fine.

If I see a poll that asks, "Do you want the Cowboys to change their teams colors to red or green?" and those are the only two options, I definitely do not want either one so I don't vote.

For the pople who do want to vote on their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with Dak, this poll is for them.

It is pointless to have a poll where most people vote for "No idea", "Not sure", "Maybe", "Maybe not", "Can I wait until the season is over?", "I know but don't want to tell anyone", etc. options as all of those are the exact same as not voting as they contribute nothing to the poll results beyond a metaphorical "I voted!" sticker.

In any case, I have gone out of my way to explain things and can see that you seem more interested in disagreeing than understanding, so the above is my last attempt.

Hopefully it will sink in, but if not, that is fine too. Regardless, the official CZ Polls will continue not providing easy out or indecisive options so everyone can get an idea where the fans stand.

I don't think we should be completely happy with any quarterback until that player leads a team to the Super Bowl. That being said, Prescott, or Romo before him, is not the reason we haven't reached a Super Bowl, so I'm not going to hold the team's failure against him.

So my vote is a wishy-washy maybe because I don't blame Prescott's for all the team's failures. I blame the front office.

I'm not a fan of how they chose to build this team during Dak's tenure both before and after Dak got paid. They have done some things well but have failed to bring it all together including putting the right coaching staff together.

Oh yes they are/were. A big part of the reason.

You know WENTZ wasn't the QB who led the Eagles to a SB................. LOL!
but he was part of their success that season until his injury. they did talk about him as an MVP.... he put them in position to make a run.
but then you were hybernating during that time and just came out of the cave afterwards! perhaps
