But it’s not. Did you read the numerous posts and comments from people claiming they would rather have Cooper Rush over Dak?

Or the ones who seriously propose that we draft a QB every two or three years and make them the starter because “anything but Dak” and hoping we strike gold?

A better solution would be to find a message board that isn’t so poisonous. We have to be constantly reminded not to make individual personal attacks on one another.

The issue is that this is the big board, like it or not, and there are a large number of instransigient old school posters here whose fandom is either locked in to one of the two dynastic teams or whose personal fan identity is wrapped up into disliking the current owner.

Hard to have reasonable discussions with people who never moved on from 1995
Yep, nothing wrong with some of the old guys. Then there are those guys who, yeah, OK . . . Something is wrong. We're not all old fogies.

The knuckle heads that like average Dak, yes you’re right. I see you’re pulling for another go nowhere year as Dak chokes again in the critical games. Line up the inferior teams and the homers dream SB play the good teams and Dak just wilts away. There are options but Jerry isn’t interested, he will stay with Dak and that’s the end of the st
Great QB’s don’t grow on trees but 8 year average ones don’t become great, Dak talks the talk but can’t walk the walk.
I agree Brax, "great QBs don't grow on trees", if they did then everybody would have one. You wouldn't happen to know a sure fire plan to acquire one of those truly "Great QBs" would you? Especially if we keep winning 12 games a year so that we're stuck with late picks in the draft.
But if I hear of a sure fire plan for a great QB, I'll be sure and pass it along to the Cowboys.

Got no beef with fans who genuinely want the Cowboys to be better. We’re all on the same page.

I take issue with the guys who are stuck and nothing short of a Time Machine will make them happy.

Cooper Rush over Dak? LOL Yeah there's always a few comedians in every crowd. I guess they'd prefer to go 5 &12 instead of 12 & 5.
I wanna see the Boys go to the show as well, but 5 & 12 won't get 'em there, and neither will Cooper Rush.

That's an exaggerated re-telling of what actually happened but I have no doubt that's what you recall. This happens because the mind has a desperate need to justify your unreasonable support of Dak Prescott that doesn't take care of the ball. I bet you can't even admit his carelessness exists.
Not exaggerated at all, everything I said was spot on. If you don’t agree that’s fine.

This is what I find the most absurd and ridiculous with the dak defenders.
  • They say the offensive line was awful
  • The wide receivers were awful and he didn't have anybody to throw to.
  • The tight ends were awful
  • The running backs were awful
  • The defense didn't hold the opponent to low outputs so dak doesn't have to do anything.
  • Kellen Moore was awful and was the worst OC in the NFL
So if all these excuses are true, what was Kellen Moore supposed to do with all these issues, plus he had dak the sloth of processing defenses.

I know it's everybody else's fault, we got to prop up dak so we can beat our chest and cry about Romo. smh

Here's the plan, and it is the only one that works: actually invest draft resources into acquiring one. If you don't have a high draft pick then you trade for one. Teams have done it in the past and teams will do it in the future. If that guy busts then you try again ASAP, but don't let a bust stop you from trying the only tried and true method.

This isn't nearly as complicated as some you like to make it out. Just learn from history. The last time the Cowboys used a high draft pick on a QB1 he became the first of only two QBs to win 3 SBs in 4 years. Seems like the smart thing to do is try to replicate that.

The silent majority is winning no matter how vocal the minority is.
Yes, you are correct, and it must really bother them, and the fact is we live in America where you can be elected only being 1% better than your opponent. Daks still winning #charliesheen LOL

When you do nothing at the position then nothing changes, let’s see the Jets the Bucs the Rams all did something in recent years the cowboys , nothing you don’t get better doing nothing but that’s what you thrive on doing nothing and gloating over a bloated win record because of the poor division they play in. Keep doing nothing how’s that working out for the cowboys who are following your advice.

I'm not sure getting 55% approval in June at a romper room of homerism like this place is any reason to feel victorious.

If he's 55% here he's about 25% everywhere else.

I said yes based largely on the Tampa playoff game this past season.

It shows what he's capable of IF he keeps his head on straight and the game plan is good. And I actually think this last year with all the ints might have shown him that he's not the P. Manning/Drew Brees-type quarterback, who can chunk the ball all over the place constantly and be successful. The 37 td year might have gave him the idea he could be like Manning and Brees, and this past year brought him back to earth.

He and the coaches need to utilize his talents and abilities as they are. Losing Kellen Moore may well prove to be the key.

At least I hope so....

Since we are around a month away from the start of training camp, I thought it would be a good time to gauge the satisfaction level with Dak Prescott as the Dallas Cowboys quarterback.

As always, I do not provide "easy out" options in CZ Polls because that defeats the purpose of the polls.
The poll results will probably stay about the same as it is now.

Folks for the most part have long ago made up their minds on Dak, ain't going to change much unless he should win 2-3 Super Bowls, and even then it won't be a dramatic change, the 45% will just say "well, he had a fantastic team around him, it was the team, just like Switzer's SB win, etc.".

Such is football....

It shows hes capable of playing well against a bad team. A loser team. 8-9.

The one thing that Cooper Rush proved was that the Cowboys as they are constructed right now can win without Dak Prescott under center. There is enough talent on the team to make up for a weak QB, at least enough to beat the minnows of the league and maybe get tossed in the first round of the playoffs. Which is basically what you have with Dak.

This is what I find the most absurd and ridiculous with the dak defenders.
  • They say the offensive line was awful 28th in league in pass blocking
  • The wide receivers were awful and he didn't have anybody to throw to. bottom of the league in separation
  • The tight ends were awful havent heard that
  • The running backs were awful hadnt heard that either.I hear zeke was awful but that was primarily coming from 1 or 2 posters. He wasnt my favorite but he wasnt awful
  • The defense didn't hold the opponent to low outputs so dak doesn't have to do anything. hadnt heard that either
  • Kellen Moore was awful and was the worst OC in the NFL hadnt heard that either but his situational awareness is well known.
So if all these excuses are true, what was Kellen Moore supposed to do with all these issues, plus he had dak the sloth of processing defenses.

I know it's everybody else's fault, we got to prop up dak so we can beat our chest and cry about Romo. smh
me thinks your dak hate makes you embelish on the truth. Truth is both QBs has their warts but both QBs have had situations that made it hard to acheive the pinnacle of success. But youre a hater with Humor and much easier to accept
