The question is, and I am happy to hear about suggestions: How do we get rid of Prescott, biting the bullet and starting over? What is it going to cost? It has to be done.
Buckle up. Unfortunately, we already know he will get extended. That means we are stuck with him for at least 3-4 more years depending on the specifics of his extension. That is the sad cold hard fact.

We'll have the same QB, a little older, a little slower, with less talent surrounding him because of the cap hit.

but he's so good he can overcome that. Crap, nope he can't overcome one offensive lineman down.
Well, hum he's a leader, but don't ask him to play good against good defenses. Just be glad he doesn't pass out on the sidelines from fear.

here we choke, unless it's against a bad team....

Yup. Unfortunately, those thinking we are going to dump him are most likely pipe dreaming. I guess there's a tiny chance it could happen, I just don't see it happening. Our best shot is to build a nutlock D and get a nasty tough yds Rb. Think Marshawn Lynch. Desperately need NFL quality LB's and a big nasty 3 tech that cannot be denied. Chris Jones, Aaron Donald, Jeffrey Simmons, Cam Heyward, Wilkins, Quinnen Williams, Buckner, Jon Allen, Fletcher Cox. There are actually more of this type in the NFL than you'd think, but to find one you'd have to start drafting for them instead of chasing TE's, CB's, and WR's incessantly. That dude in PITT, Demarvin Leal, looks like he might be one such. PITT took him in the 3rd in the 22 draft. We could've had him if not for inexplicably falling in love w/ Sam Williams in the 2nd. Is he going to succeed? Don't know yet, it's really hard to find the disruptive 3 tech type, but you won't find them if you don't try. Need change in drafting philosophy. Desperately.

I did above. I’d love to see you sign him to a 60m$ a year contract, but not taking that into account, the most successful 2024 season for the Dallas cowboys has Dak Prescott at QB (even if he doesn’t get very far in the playoffs)
If you had a quarterback who played good against bad teams, but could not win in the playoffs you would want to keep him?

These polls are honestly kind of dumb. They flip flop so much depending on his weekly showings. Highly based on emotional thoughts.

I'm vote will continue to always be no regardless of his fantasy football regular season stats
I noticed the poll swings based on the weekly outcomes. I have always been consistent with my vote because Dak does well against bad teams but not good teams . Elite quarterbacks move their level of play up in the playoffs. Dak moves his down.

of course he does, he's one of several Eagles fans who want us to extend the choker to ruin the team for 4 or 5 more years.

I disagree wholeheartedly. When someone shows you who they are (especially three playoffs in a row), BELIEVE THEM!

I don't want a Regular season stats warrior. I want someone who man's up in the playoffs.

My answer all season has been no, hoping the playoffs would change my mind and he'd play like an actual playoff caliber QB and prove me wrong. Sadly I wasn't wrong. We see what he is. He isn't going to change. Time to move on as soon as possible.
Yes. Troy Aikman was never a "stats warrior' but, he did win 3 SB's. Stats mean nothing unless they collectively translate to a championship.
Jerry needs to move on and set the future in motion now. If he extends Dak we'll have to wait 4, or so, more years to do what needs to be done anyway. They need to make the Herschel Walker-like trade with the Bears for their 1st round pick and take Jayden Daniels. Fortune favors the bold. Draft picks, players and $$$. Whatever it takes.
Dak was taken in the 4th round as a potential back-up only.

Yes they will. Why should next year be any different then the past few. If anything this game was less Dak's fault.
Really? Dak threw two interceptions-one was a pick six- and at least two more should have been interceptions but were dropped. And he missed Tolbert wide open for a touchdown because he was focusing on CeeDee Lamb and threw into double coverage.
Dak provided NO help for the Cowboys defense- which was why the Packers offense had free run.

Not exactly but more and more Cowboy fans forget how bad Quaterback Purgatory is. Dak is good enough to control the offense. He just doesn’t have it to put the team on his back.

I'd rather lose while looking for a QB than this trash.

Don't forget, our QB Purgatory was caused in large part by that horrific Galloway trade. Those are the picks we could've been using to find a QB. Instead, we wasted them on a pathetic attempt to stay relevant. Same as the Cooper trade, same as the Roy Williams trade.
