Currently 92% to 8%. Given that you could convince 8% of the population that the world is flat, this is about as close to unanimous that you could possibly get in the sports world.
Wait!! What??? The world ain't flat?

I voted yes, not to be nice. It was because Schotty is said to be hard-nosed and gets into faces. Someone needs to instill discipline in these guys. If he works out, folks will be surprised. If he doesn't, then we'll be getting some nice draft slots and will hopefully move on from Dak.

Actually, I ask the opposite. How can anyone think this is bad? Ask yourself, do we have a super bowl team? Is there any hope that we can form a super bowl contender?

My answers to those questions is not close.

So, why would you want a HC who would lead us to 9-10 wins? What would be the point of that? Why not hire a scapegoat, one who will hopefully lead us to tank land. Why not think about the future, some high draft picks toward the time when we finally get some bloated contracts off the kitty?
If I thought they had a plan to tank and then rebuild I'd be happier. I don't believe they have anything close to a plan.

I mean, come on field management, situation football, everything else is handed to him. If that’s all he has to worry about I don’t care anymore, I really don’t , I watch and I enjoy.
I'm not sure what you're saying I'm saying that I'd rather him not be the offensive coordinator it's as simple as that I think he could pay attention all three phases and clock management and get a better fuel for the game if he's not the play caller it doesn't mean he doesn't have input or he's not listening and can counterman they call but I believe he's going to give Prescott a lot more freedom in this offense...

You know to change a call not just an audible but completely change a call you know like the late Romo years, I just will have a better outlook on this hire if they also get a strong offensive coordinator...

I’m saying what else does a head coach have to do, field management, situation football,. Everything else is prepared for him. This is the Cowboys. This isn’t a normal franchise.

I have to imagine any of these 'Yes' votes are opposing fans wanting to see Dallas suffer or fans who have had enough and want Dallas to be as bad as can be. :muttley: No fan who wants to win can be happy with this hire. This guy is Jason Garrett 2.0

See that's just not true I can see a big difference whenever Garrett and or Mike McCarthy let's just stick with Mike McCarthy for now when he was just the head coach here I believe he did a better job I think the team was better than when he became the offensive coordinator I know we can go back to an amazing year for Prescott to see the lamb and that is probably why the offense worked better than it appeared but when we saw the first half both the two seasons he was the offensive coordinator it took him eight or nine games to get into the flow and I don't know why but I preferred Mike McCarthy to head coach over Mike McCarthy doing both.

As a matter of fact I said this if Mike McCarthy was to come back and I believe that was a sticking point I reason he's not here I believe he needed to change out the entire offensive staff and get a new coordinator to do just the coordinator job and I would have been accepting of Mike McCarthy coming back but if he came back in the same yeah I did not want him here and I believe that's what happened it was more than just years and it definitely wasn't money because he was making about the same amount of money that the eagles and Washington and the giants are paying their head coach that's another false narrative that Jerry S cheat I put up post Jerry was paying about around 15th and pay and there wasn't a lot of separation from 10 to 15 or 15 to 32 so Jerry was right in the league average for what you pay a head coach that's a fact not a narrative that Jerry's too cheap to pay why overpay for someone like Mike Tomlin who's very good yes he's not better than Mike McCarthy he's lost the last seven playoff games he's appeared in but he makes 16,000,000 and Mike made 5 should we just overpay for the sake of overpaying to make the fans happy?

But what I'm saying is I saw the difference when they're doing 2 jobs I think it would be better for a new head coach like BS to have delegation and have a real separate offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator and make sure he has the very best staff he can get in order transition correctly now a year down the road or two years down the road he doesn't like the way the coordinator is doing then he could take the job from him but at the beginning I think it'll be easier to navigate here with the Dallas Cowboys as a brand new head coach to give up the coordinator duties..

The most important thing for a head coach, situation football.

Lots of interesting, diverse views on hiring Schotty as HC yesterday. From maintaining continuity to simply "give Schottenheimer his shot" to making the comfortable choice, familiarity, someone we can control, etc.
The big picture --- this is one of the most stupefying decisions we have ever seen Jerry and Stephen make.
I figured that Jerry would see this hire among the most critical decisions he'd ever make for the organization. I figured wrong.

I’m numb to it all and instead of being upset have chosen to grab my popcorn and sit back and watch it burn and take joy in seeing the misery on Boogers face. Let’s get this party started!!

I mean, it really is a win/win situation. Shocking how more don't see it.

Did people really think we were going to hire a topflight coach and turn this thing around immediately? And if so, have they been in a 30 year coma?

A tank at this point is the best we can hope for!!!

Au contraire.

How about, no fan who wants to win super bowls can be unhappy w/ this hire!!!!

So, are you convinced that we are super bowl contenders? Are you convinced that a topnotch HC could be convinced to come here?

Looking at the big pic, this is a great hire.

I imagine right now Schottenheimer's reading the riot act to the Joneses about how it's going to be around here from now on.

And
Nope. My best hope is that it's an inadverdent tank, like the Campo years but w/ high draft picks.
I am concerned that it's Will McClay's last draft and Steven will appoint somebody that he wants to run the board which probably means somebody way underqualified will be in charge of personnel.
