Article: Dallas Cowboys should trade for Houston Texans’ Jadeveon Clowney

This is actually the best idea I've heard of in a long time. But it won't happen.

Clowney has been a bust due to injuries or mindset. I was so high on him at the draft, but now I would pass on the guy.

For the right price, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I mean I likely wouldn't throw a second rounder at the Texans for him but I might consider a Leary for Clowney trade.

lol, yea, if that's what it took, I'd do it in a heart beat, but I doubt that gets it done.

He is probably the most physically gifted young pass rusher in the league and is in the completely wrong scheme

problem is, he hasn't been good since his sophomore year at South Carolina. he mailed it in as a junior and has been nothing but injury prone since.

I hate to wreck this idea so quickly, but here's why it can't happen:

It would cost the Texans $10 million in dead money to trade him this year.

when compared to his current cap number, dealing him costs the Texans around 2 million more than keeping him. I still think it has a snow ball's chance of happening, but the cap would not be a deterrent ,though it may raise the asking price, assuming they are even willing to deal him.

Coakley is the single most trade-dangled player in history. We should pull the trigger this time...

Guys, if we haven't traded Coakley by now it's just not going to happen. I thought that we would trade him in the offseason, but when that didn't happen, I feel that he will eventually just retire as a Cowboy.

I wouldn't be surprised if the mere fact that we have been the suckers for so many misfits lately would cause the FO to pass on him.

I can't help but to think that every decision they make is the wrong one. Following up one mistake with another one.

They rolled the dice on Hardy, and didn't like how that worked out so they sent him packing. Then they trusted Gregory, who betrayed that trust. Then, since they were burned by Gregory, they wouldn't touch Noah Spence, who looks like he's actually learned his lesson and can play.

Then they didn't show interest in Freeney, but yet bring in Damontre Moore for a workout?

Yep. The homers here will disagree, though. "We're building something". {For 5 years)

Article is proposing Leary & Church/Wilcox. Don't think that's enough but this would be a no brainer for Cowboys. Why not sweeten pot by adding Mo as well? As long as no picks are included and its a player for player(s), both teams need to get this done. Win-win.

Where does this narrative come from that Garrett can't handle problem players? Someone like Hardy was beyond any coaches ability.

Parcells couldn't handle Antonio Bryant, so guess Parcells sucks too.

I guess a better coach would have prevented Gregory and McClain suspensions.

I think that would be a terrible move. Clowney has shown nothing worth trading for. His last year in College wasn't very good. The Cowboys already have enough players that they are "Hoping" will be good.

Never saw Parcells go into mouse mode when a player was yelling at one his coaches directly in front of him. Not the biggest Tuna fan but trying to compare Garrett's coaching pedigree to him is ludicrous.
