Yeah, I figure he'll duck and run from the question while back tracking and mumbling that he didn't mean the entire forum.
I have no reason to backtrack. Being absolutely right 100% of the time on an internet message board just isn't
that high on my priority list, but I seriously doubt I'm wrong. Beyond drive-by flamers who only come into stir the pot, create a flame thread, and never respond to anything (believe me, I'm sure one or two have done the same things I've seen at ES), I doubt any poster has decided to actually defend a position that the Skins are a SB bound.
Personally, I felt if stayed as healthy as we did last season we could win the division. Yet as the injuries mounted, especially Portis/Springs' injuries, my expectations began to drop from division champions to hoping for a wildcard. Right now, I know the team looks lost.
From the glass half-full perspective, the '05 Skins looked just as lost at 5-6 with 3 divisional games looming on the horizon. So there is hope, yet certain weaknesses have to be changed before that happens. Brunell needs to use the middle of the field, stop locking in on Moss so much, and use his other options. Saunders needs to stop trying to outhink every DC in the league and just run Portis in close games. Gregg Williams needs to unleash the blitz once more and zone up the secondary. Their getting beat consistently whether he blitzes or not, at least this way he can make some positive plays out of putting pressure on the quarterback. All of these things need to change, yet I only see possibly a few of them happening.
