B/R: Nick Foles Won't Be Franchise-Tagged by Eagles; Will Enter Free Agency

You realize he was talking about Wentz right? Trolls have to be up on these things

He’s talking about me and how it affects me to let a Super bowl champion go. I’m an Eagles fan first and foremost. Once Foles is a Jaguar or a Dolphin good for him, but we still have the ring.

Even more baffling that Foles went 4-1 while Wentz went 5-6?

It took a some games to learn how to use the street fa secondary that helped win games later in the season. Ngata and Bennett were feeling better later in the season. As was L Johnson and J Kelce. And to a certain extent, J Peters. Getting Sproles back also helped.

As good a reason for it as any.

It's just seems to be an unusual trend that the team looks and play better with Foles vs Wentz.

He was coming off an ACL tear this year and threw the ball fine. I don’t think this is an RGIII scenario where once you contain him his passing attack diminishes.

I am aware of his situation. However, doesn't change the validity of my earlier statement. If he loses mobility, he will become one or the other. Both of those QBs had exceptional ability to throw the ball but one could extend plays by moving around in the pocket and one, even though he had a great arm, could not. He became a fence post. RGIII never learned the pro passing game, which is why he never became a very good passing QB in the NFL. He really doesn't pertain to this discussion IMO but that's just my opinion.

You must not have seen the Falcons game and the 1st half of the Buccaneers game.

No, I was paying more attention to when the guy won the Super Bowl and got Wentz's 5-6 team into the playoffs.

But I get it, a guy is never as good out of the uniform as he is wearing it. Many of our fans suffer from the same affliction.

I think he does, he is the most famous example of a highly touted ‘skillset’ QB that showed promise early and injuries derailed his career. Even Deshaun Watson was getting RGIII comments when he missed a year and a half, Robert is the poster boy.

But we’ll have to see on Carson I guess.

Actually not correct. He came back in the championship game and gutted it out to win the final one too. If your point is we’re guaranteed super bowl rings with him on the bench, why would I have a problem with that?
What are you talking about? We are not proposing to trade for Wentz so he can sit on the bench?
Oh.....hold on...are you an eagles fan?

The only guarantee Wentz brings at this point is selfishness, probowls for TE's, and grossing my family out with cystic boilers growing all over his neck.

Aren't you the idiot talking about narratives? Was Mike Jenkins off the street? How about Douglas? Sidney Jones? When you're making things up you're losing

Fifteen different d-backs played for the Eagles and 13 started at least one game. Jenkins was the only constant. Undlin did a remarkable job teaching all the newcomers and keeping the secondary together and effective amid the injuries and chaos.

Cre'Von LeBlanc was released by 3 teams before joining the Eagles. Sidney Jones was battling hamstring injuries after week 5.

And if I remember correctly, we lost Douglas in the Saints game.

Pro bowl TEs are pretty sweet.

OK, well, if you see Wentz as a QB who is incapable of understanding and running a Pro Style Passing Offense, then I guess I can get on board with that. I don't see that but whatever. Is Wentz Glass, the answer is yes. Is Wentz RGIII, the answer is no. Wentz is not as good as all the hype but he can throw a football and he can run a Pro Style Passing game. I see no comparison to RGIII, other then the fact that they are both QBs and they were both taken high in the draft.

What truth? Montana won rings, they picked Steve. Brett won a ring, they picked Aaron.

The truth is if Carson didn’t matter, you guys wouldn’t be talking about him so much. He’s good enough to gain backlash here. Everybody ready to talk about Nate Sudfeld? No? More threads about Carson? Got it.

To me, wentz = dak right now. Dak looked good in his first seasons. Wentz in his second. And last year Goff looked better than both of them. I'm hoping that Dak will improve, but right now I'm not overly optimistic. Wentz doesn't scare us, like I'm sure Dak doesn't scare you.

Carson won nothing and got hurt. And they picked him.

The truth is that I'm glad your team picked damaged goods.

I'm glad you're going with 5-6 over 4-1. And I'll be even happier when you overpay him to keep getting injured. Only now, there's no more Nick Foles coming to the rescue.

I'm glad we're not the team in the NFC east anymore with a Quarterback that has the reputation of being fragile.

Eagles fan took great delight when Romo was injured. Maybe it's karma that they now get to see what that's like?

well now they'll have to hear the questions from other fan bases asking if Wentz can have a complete season without getting injured.
