Bashing Jerry

I dont believe it.
I dont care what was said AFTER.

Jimmy was on the verge of winning 3 straight SB's. A feat that never had been accomplished and I believe he could have done it.

There is no way that the 3rd straight NFC title game gets out of hand in first quarter vs 49ers.

I believe we were destined to win 3 straight, maybe even 4 straight and destiny was altered by Jerry.

Now, after hiring Garrett - Jerry gets a complete reboot from me. I dont care about the past. Its all about the future.

I love me some Jerry.

Ugh his CEO work constantly lands him in Forbes magazines top 10. Most CEO's will never come close to what Jerry has done.

CEO as in GM genius. We all know Jerry can market. Big whoopie. I'd rather he marketed perennial contenders. I'm a fan of the team, not the flash.
And no I don't care what other teams do.

does anyone ever look up stuff anymore or do we just roll off "gut feeling"? i'd like to see a link to this myself but won't say I DON'T BELIEVE IT outright cause i hate jones or something.

Hey genius, CEO and GM are worlds apart. You said Jerry wouldn't last as another companies CEO outside of Jerryworld. I guess now you are trying to say you meant "CEO as in GM"? Bahahahahahhahah do you know the difference in a General Manager and a Chief Executive Officer?

I said I think ford makes the worst trucks on the planet. But when I said trucks I meant cars not trucks!!!!!

And what might happen without Jerry? We could go 15 years with just one playoff win? Yeah well, welcome to life with Jerry.

Or we can go 30 years without JJ in there....anyone ever thought of that?

Yeah, in a normal world. When your CEO is also your GM not so much. Hence Jerry world. Building the marketing of the franchise, his vision of the franchise he's a great CEO. Building and setting the culture, not so much.

CEO Jerry has the franchise making money hand over fist, GM Jerry can't build a consistent contender.

As a GM, we all have different opinions. My opinion is a competent CEO wouldn't keep our GM. But this is Jerry world. Doesn't the CEO set the tone for the whole company? In this world CEO and GM is a slim, slim difference.
Unless Jerry spends allot of time arguing his points to himself.

But in your world he just might.

You said he wouldnt last as a CEO. But yet you are saying he's a great CEO.

Where's this great GM that you are looking for that has had more success? There might be 5 in the NFL total that do as good a job as he does. He has put a group of very very talented players on this roster and now he's promoting the coach that we need.

I have to admit something:

I've been really soft on Jerry.

He wants the attention...begs for it...demands it worse than any diva or wide receiver. So with all his countless screw-ups...He deserves all the scorn he's getting X 10.

I actually think your off a little bit. I am fine with all the blame jerry gets, alot I think he deserves.

I am just starting to believe that he may only be the face of alot of the things that go on. And by that I mean I think he has his kids doing almost all of the work and he is like the spokesperson. It seems from listening and watching that Charlotte anderson plays a large part in the marketing and promotion end along with Jerry jr.

then stephen jones plays a large role in personell, he is the team vice president and handles the contracts and the cap.

I actually believe at this point that the other jones are deserving in some of the blame and some of the credit and probably alot more than most of us think on all this stuff.

I have mixed emotions on jerry. Some things I like, Some things I dont like and some things I flat out do not understand. But recently I have to wonder if things would be any different had he said I am stepping down and stephen, charlotte and Jr. took over.

For instance I have liked some things I hear about stephen jones, but at the same time He is listed as having over seen every element of the construction of stadium, that includes working with the city and the government meanwhile being the guy who is responsible for all 400 employees of the team........and also being a large role player in scouting and player personnel.

so my question is how is that different from Jerry? And I honestly mean this. Everyone griped that jerry didnt have time to be gm, owner, ceo, stadium builder and personnel guy but that is exactly what stephen is doing too.

And in that offseason heading into 09 everything was about the stadium and we end up with an absolutely horrible draft. Was this because the front office portion of the family was tied up in stadium and city issues?

Dont kill me I am just asking. And I am asking because it seems to me the three kids who run this organization are actually the ones doing everything while jerry is kind of the face and the spokesperson.

Makes me nervous about the future. Like I said I am just wondering aloud and have always thought highly of stephen, but when you connect the dots I am not so sure the apple is much different than the tree it fell from.

You left of the Jerry world part, eh that's ok.

If your happy with "all this talent" good for you. I don't see it.
No attention to the O line worth a crap. Wheres all the talent in the defensive back field? Ball? Business decision Jenkins? RW and Barber laughing all the way to the bank. I know, he's not going to hit on every thing, I understand that. The problem is the little attention he pays to some of the important things. The non glamour positions. You know, hiring Dave Campo not once but twice.

Now he's promoting the coach we need? Your opinion or crystal ball?
I hope you are right. But we could both be way off.

The bottom line to my original comment still stands. Great CEO in Jerry world.

You bring up some valid points. I have always HEARD, I repeat HEARD that when Stephen takes over and Jerry is done/dead whatever that he will hire a legitimate football GM. I don't know though. Others say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The future of this franchise is a worrysome topic.

I can come to this conclusion though at some point revenue loss will cause them to become desparate for on field success forcing a change in the way they do things. They are going on 16 years without any significant success and a whole generation is growing up not having a taste of Cowboy championship ball. Peoples interest in the team will be lost some time in the future, without significant success, I think, how soon or later is the question. Right now their PR machine is the major revenue vehicle I think. If they don't back up what they are selling at some point, on the field, they will have revenue loss. This may be the thing that forces change as I alluded to above. I don't want it to come to that though, I want to be clear on that.

Your really making a huge step towards seeing things the way they are. There's no way possible Jerry can do all the things he's ultimately responsible for. He relies on others to do jobs that he is in charge of. The thing most people don't give Jerry credit for is that he is the face of these decisions and takes all the heat. Hes much like the QB in the sense he gets too much credit but also too much blame.

I've never thought Jerry is not at fault for many things. He has made some big mistakes and bad decisions. But he's also made me believe he's willing to change and do what's best for the organization. No doubt he loves the limelight but I'll take that because he also doesn't run from the critics when things don't work. He's been on camera and in the forefront since day one. Good or bad.

Yep. I heard him on Newy's show on Wednesday, I think it was, and all he did was whine about how with every step he took he had to worry about breaking his hip or elbow. What a baby.

So he's done a good job as CEO only because he's in "Jerryworld" I'm not sure what your saying.

As far as the Oline goes, you can't have all pros at every position. Look at the o line the steelers took to the SB his year. You think they have a better Oline? This is a players league. Players have to perform. You can't play madden and hit homeruns at every position.

Still waiting to know the GM you want here.
