Dude. Look up the word concoct. It was not an insult. It was nowhere near an insult. I even provided you with a link and said "we all do."

Toughen up buttercup. Judas Priest.

This is the last year of his contract and they don't plan to re-sign him so it would be getting something for nothing. Henry is a Todd Bowles favorite.

Right. And even though I'm not sure I would want Beck as our back up, we would be getting something in return. And you never know what will happen.

I have no particular reason or anything against Beck, because I am not a GM or have any qualifications to say so. But maybe a change will be good for him. worth the chance, can't lose.

Great.

Another unrealistic reply...

So since we're on to those, then let's bring back Quincy Carter, since he's not among that camp of #2 QBs who will be starting somewhere. At least QC was a starter fro an etended period of time; Beck can't even hold the #3 QB position in Miami, so let's bring him in - YEAH!

OK smart ***. You make up a list of #2 QBs who you think we should get in here.

Please. This should be entertaining.

Let's just say when Jerry gets drunk he calls certain numbers that charge by the minute and talks with someone named Hostella.

LOL. i somehow find that not too far fetched.

Anybody know how much cap space is opened up if they trade Henry?

By my numbers, $3.6 million in cap room is saved if we cut or trade Henry.

His 2009 base salary is $2.6M and his pro-rated bonus is $2M. He also has a $1 million roster bonus due in March so his total cap hit in 2009 is $5.6M.

If he is cut or traded before March we would never be responsible for the $1M roster bonus and his base of $2.6M. We would just get hit for the pro-rated bonus of $2M ($10M signing bonus divided by total years of contract, which was 5).

I think he's as good as cut anyway so if we can get Beck for him, I'd be all for it. If nothing else this trade would free up an additional $3,081,100 in immediate cap room (Henry's $3.6M saved minus Beck's $518,900 2009 cap hit).

Plus, if he sucks we could always cut Beck at no cap penalty (unless we gave him a new deal with a signing bonus). Personally, I feel Beck has much more upside than Brooks fricken Bollinger.

Cleo Lemons has a 1 year head start on Beck in the NFL.

I'll bet you 5 bucks that barring career ending injury to either player Beck has a longer career and it is more productive as well.

alright i'm in for 5 bucks:)

it should be riveting watching these two fine careers:) lol.

in the mean time I hope we sign someone who is far better than both.

So do I. It's a bet though.

I believe you started it in this thread.
He is allowed to start crap with me, but I am not allowed to answer in kind. I didn't even do that this time and he took offense. Dude is way over sensitive to anything I say.

it must be something in the water in pittsburgh, they are soft up there...

I kid I kid.....:laugh2:

Given the uncertainty at both cornerback and safety, I'm against this move. If the Dolphins want a 5th round or later for Beck? Fine.

But this team has questions at both cornerback and safety - both areas in which Henry could help them.

If they were to get rid of Henry, that leaves Newman, Scandrick, and Jenkins at cornerback, once again making that area a need position.

At safety, decisions need to be made regarding Roy Williams' future with the team, Ken Hamlin's best position, and whether or not to keep a guy like Pat Watkins.

I think there are enough questions in the secondary without adding another one for a backup QB project when that could be done much more 'cheaply'.

Less than what they got for Ferg or Akin.

Trading or cutting Henry is a gamble, IMO. I don't want to see him as a starting CB but I do like having him for depth and for playing special packages. Unless he can be replaced then I'm not interested in his leaving yet. It would be great to get some cap savings. And I wouldn't mind having a younger CB take his place, if they can. And he can play safety in a pinch although its not his thing. I'd rather give a draft pick for Beck than include Henry despite his shortcomings.

Or Fasano, yeah.

Like I said, give up a late-rounder if you want him.

You know the Dolphins don't.

I would love to bring Beck in as a backup. He had almost 4 full years of starting experience at BYU and he showed significant progression from year to year.

I dunno what it is, but if I so much as do not gush at something he says...drama.

We all concoct ways to improve the team. Why he took offense at that is beyond me.
