Lolol dumb thread. If the public sales pitch to land Odell works and Beckham helps this team; this thread will prove to be stupid. So let’s wait and see what happens before we just to any conclusions. This team needs help. Now the team is interrelated in getting better and we blame them? No. Lol. Dumb.
Jerry should go to everyone and ask for an immediate pay cut to all who are begging to make room on the cap for OBJ..you want him that bad, pay his salary.:muttley::popcorn:

The recruiting will escalate to the point of rolling out a half mile red carpet, with OBJ stitched in with gold thread.
Planes will drag banners saying, "Save Our Season OBJ".
OBJ values his Ego being massaged and being considered the hero as much as a pay day.

If that ‘love’ translates into saved cap space? I don’t have a problem with it.

You don’t often have the opportunity to add a quality player at a position of need after the trade deadline.

You wouldn't know this team is 6-2 with a top 5 D and a pretty good path to the playoffs with all of this begging for Beckham to be a Cowboy.

Do they all have to talk about everything?

This team needs to shut up and play football.
GET OFF MY LAWN BEFORE I CALL THE PLLICE YOU RUGRATS!

You guys are making a big deal out of nothing. OBJ wants to be wanted. This stuff happens all the time in the NBA now. This is not desperation... it is players letting free agent player know he would be very welcome on this team.

It is also telling the player and the media nothing everyone doesnt already know. The team tried to add a wr at trade deadline and it didnt work. So they clearly want to add a WR. The team also showed they will not go pass a certain financial threshold.... so it gives OBJ no leverage as so many in here are saying. But again.... it is just another example of complaining to complain. No matter which way the team handles it, some will complain, which is why I started that thread for people to complain the day before the trade deadline passed as I knew people would complain if we added Cook or if we didnt add cook.

so Lamb isn't the answer. lol if he swipes his nose more can he be number 1?
so you think you can Judge Lambs production based on Faks first horrible game of the season, the first game back after his surgery?

Lets see where Lamb is after the season.

Truthfully I feel they may have something in place already. All these guys would have ignored the question if they didn’t know he’s on his way here.

If I’m wrong this team is going to look bad with how desperate they looked.
Look bad to who> Desperate for letting OBJ they would welcome him in Dallas? Are teams that send a private jet to a free agent to roll out the red carpet looking desperate? It happens all the itme.

I agree, but on the other hand, it’s more about the media shoving mics in players faces and asking.

What are they supposed to say?

This is where Jerry needs to take control of things, but he loves the attention….and that’s part of something this team will have to overcome as long as he is around.

Has Becham even completely recovered from his ACL surgery?

I might rather sign Dez. He could be healthier.
I love Dez... LOVE HIM. He is in my top 5 Cowboys all time, but he is done. He hasnt played any real football for basically 3 years.
I have a trainer I follow on youtube and OBJ used to work out with him ... holy crap. OBJ works HARD! No doubt he is about ready, which is why he has waited to sign. He wanted to be healthy and ready to go.

Jerry has probably been promoting and suggesting to the spokesmen of this team to shower OBJ with invitations, hoping that somehow OBJ plays here on a cheap, cap friendly
bargain.
Jerry just wants people talking.

I feel like it’s a distraction and a detriment to what we are trying to do.

I’m trying to “get it” as far as todays media, but it’s just a little much.

No one even knows if this guy is healthy enough. It’s also not reasonable to expect a guy who needs speed and the ability to cut on a dime to be 100% this soon.

I also think it’s a bad fit with the QB we have, but I won’t be not watching if they do add him. I just don’t think he will help the way most do.

This team will go as far as it’s running game and defense takes it, not Daks arm.

Anyone who reasons that OBJ will open up the run game as a decoy, consider how HE may feel about that while he is trying to secure a long term payday.

It’s a bad match. It really is, but….one mistake (expecting a small school 3rd rounder to immediately replace Cooper) breeds the next.

They reek of desperation.
This is the kind of nonsense that would make Beckham feel a sense of enitlement if he is brought in. Dallas would force him the ball like he is some savior and I'm not sure that would sit well with other players the front office playing favorites. At this point Beckham is complimentary player and not a WR that is going to take over games. He hasn't played much in the last two years.
you clearly dont pay attention. He was a MAJOR cog for the Rams SB last year.

Distraction to you maybe. You think these guys are watching film and stop the film study to discuss OBJ? Face it, the Cowboys deal with distractions unlike any team in the NFL. They were talked about on their off week on all those sports shows more than any team in the league.... ON THEIR OFF WEEK. It is th enature of the Cowboys and it has nothing to do with Jerry.

When Jerry eventually passes, you think this team is going ot be in the media less? yea.... right.

I agree completely. I don’t see how adding talent to make the team stronger fur a possible playoff run is somehow a bad thing?

But I guess you can spin anything as a negative if you want to?

That makes sense logically.

Thing is, the guy is a lightning rod.

He has in the recent past complained publicly about not getting targets from Mayfield. Things really blew up from there.

The mild mannered Amari Cooper, who didn’t seem to mind that he was benched when it mattered in 2019, also mentioned that he “can’t throw the ball to himself.”

This team needs to win with defense and running the ball, not Daks arm.

I don’t at ALL want him forcing the ball to a WR he isn’t in full synch with, nor do I want him feeling he has to.

Last thing we need is Dak forcing the ball to him, or Moore feeling forced to pass more when Beckham complains about not being featured.

Im not ignorant to the idea of adding talent makes us better, but this particular one comes with way too many likely negatives for my taste.

My opinion would change by 180 degrees if either Lamb or Gallup go down for the year anytime soon.

Yes, I suppose all those “distractions” that coaches have forever been talking about avoiding is just a fan thing.

We aren't the Rams.

If we win it will be because of the defense and the run game.

The Rams won because of the passing game and defense.

It cannot be said enough that we have only won SIX, yes SIX, games in Dak's career where we had less than 100 yards rushing.

We win with the run game, not with Dak passing the ball.

YOU clearly don't pay attention.

I don’t mind it. They know they’re a good team and more help wouldn’t hurt.

The media is always going to try to find a way to keep talking about the Cowboys. Before the Beckham craze it was trade rumors. So, if it isn't one thing it's the other, but it's always something with them. It's a shame that the players keep having to answer questions about a guy that's not even on the team.

its not begging, it's recruiting. Rams did the same thing last season. Von Miller is doing now too.

I’m not all that confident in our receivers. So, yes OBJ could be a welcome addition. Has our number 1 receiver even had a 100 yard game? Cooper has had multiple 100 yard games. Instead of trading Cooper they should have fired Moore…

If you see it as begging that's sadly unfortunate
