If you are a Cowboys fan then you should naturally root for the Mavs,Stars and Rangers.

I only root for Texas teams.
I don't root for teams I have no affiliation with.

The Longhorns and TCU are my favorite college teams.

We must have been seperated at birth.

I don't necessarily disagree with that. Speaking for myself, if I followed basketball, baseball, or hockey, those would probably be the teams that I pulled for.

Alas, I don't like anything like I do football, so that is all I watch.

I do think a lot of people will probably disagree with your take though.

I have never understood why people root for teams they have no city or state affiliation with. I just don't get the thought of randomly picking a team to support. I know there are states and many major cities without professional teams but they should be fans of the closest geographical team to them.

Golden State Warriors and I'm still riding the high from their title. Looking for an unbelievable 2015 when the 'Boys get it done.

Them Sooners. So much frustration on the horizon. Cowboys can't choke this year or I'll have nothing.

Speaking for me I was born in the DR and came to The US as a child.. The first football game I ever saw was the Dallas vs. Denver super bowl.. Been a fan ever since then.and by the way I was raised in NYC.

Not necessarily.

When I was growing up and of the age to understand and follow sports, I lived in Ft. Sam Houston located in San Antonio. That's where I grew to really like the Spurs and how they played on the court and how they carried themselves off the court. That was when they had such players like David Robinson and Sean Elliott who were role models I could relate with. Obviously, it's continued on through the years so for me, intelligent team ball never gets old.

But yes, Dallas Cowboys were my natural team of choice living in the area since who else was there back then? Houston Oilers? No thanks... besides, my brothers and I were big fans of Dorsett, Pearson, Hill, etc....

And only reason I like Wolverines was because both of my older brothers went there and I visited regularly.

I have never switched teams since they were chosen so I definitely don't understand how folks switch up every once and awhile.

Denver Broncos as they're my family's team and I'm from there.

A lot of kids are contrarian, IMO. Growing up I think they feel the need to pull against who their parents or the entire area in general pull for. The OP in this thread has already said that his father pulled for the Yankees so he pulled for the Mets.

I must admit, I don't see the reasoning behind it. But, you know... different strokes, and all that.

Just look at how many Dallas fans are in the Washington DC area. I've read Commanders fans writing about their buddies who are Cowboys fans. They hadn't moved there from Dallas and had no reason at all to be a fan of them... but they became Cowboy fans anyway. They just wanted to do the opposite of what everyone else did, I suppose.

You know not all of us are from Texas, right?
