Explanation: It is 99.99% impossible to have the best QB and the Best WR on the same team- I think everyone here will agree that Rice is the greatest WR ever. I think Joey benefitted more from Rice than Jerry did from Montana.
I mean, who can't throw a 3 yard pass and let Jerry take it the other 67!

And yet Joe won half his rings, two SB MVPs and three All-Pros without him. Your theory is flawed. Montana was already a 1st ballad HOF before he had Rice.

Did you ever actually watch Staubach play? I won't defend Aikman, but Roger could almost single-handedly change the outcome of games. Best of his era, hands down.

LOL, I knew my post was going to get that kind of reaction.

Consider it more of a statement vote than anything. Do I think that he is the best QB of all time? Probably not. But I do think that his greatness has been undervalued since he retired. He was a remarkably efficient runner and passer (admittedly facilitated by his play in the WCO).

I've seen him badmouthed enough on this board, especially around the time of his HoF induction, and I can't really understand it.

You obviuosly didn't read the bad mouthing posts thoroughly.......:D

I cannot believe Moon isn't still on this list! I hope it's not a race issue...

He is my favorite player of all time, but that doesn't make him the best to ever play the position.

Point conceded - So if Montana is the best ever, is Rice the best ever...That's just unfathomable to me. One has to cancel the other out or at least lessen his greatness!

Why? Some people may have a hard time admitting they're the best at their position, especially Montana with the QB competition of Elway, Unitas, Brady, Manning, etc. but sometimes you just have to look at the achievements and Montana won 2 rings without Rice and Rice won a ring without Montana. Montana 4-0 in the SB with no interceptions and Rice's numbers in the SB were great, even with a Raider team that was forced to go against a Tampa team coached by a guy who knew their playbook.

Just a reminder....

Bradshaw and Kelly are dangerously close to elimination. Once someone selects a player that makes him hit 0...it's the NEXT poster that removes them from the list.

Once a day voting...should start to get more difficult with each elimination.

And thanks to those that have made the appropriate corrections...you know who you are.
