How is a stupid question?

You have an imagination (I hope), so let's pretend the Cowboys won the SB... What would your reaction be?

I find it weird that a self proclaimed "Cowboys fan>Dak fan" wont answer that question. Unless you arent?
Complete and utter shock would be my reaction.

With quarterback salaries expected to reach $60 million, the Cowboys are in no real rush to extend Dak.
He's never won anything, and hasn't proven that he can show up in big games. Instead, he has struggled every time the Cowboys needed him to be the reason they were able to get to the next level.
With a $59 million cap hit coming, the Cowboys will be better off to ride it out and demand that Dak earn his next extension.
He hasn't yet.
I don't agree. It's not my money, so I don't care how much we spend on Prescott. We can draft the next great quarterback, but if the team doesn't show up in big games and the coaches don't show up in big games whoever you play at quarterback isn't going to make a difference.

Paying Dak 60 million = Struggling to advance past divisional round with a another QB

Both result in not winning the Super Bowl

You either get a bus driver paid moderately and load talent around them or you have a top 5 QB

You don't pay a top 12 QB top 5 money. It just doesn't work out.

2023: Kansas City Chiefs - top QB
2022: Los Angeles Rams - talent
2021: Tampa Bay Buccaneers - top QB and talent
2020: Kansas City Chiefs - top QB
2019: New England Patriots - top QB
2018: Philadelphia Eagles - talent
2017: New England Patriots - top QB
2016: Denver Broncos - top QB

For sure but stranger things can and have happened in league history. Like the Eagles winning a SB after 57 years and the Lions winning their first division.

I guess I dont subscribe to giving up and embracing negativity the way you seem to have. Being a little optimistic aint a bad thing.

I couldn’t imagine how different not winning the Super Bowl with Trey Lance would be as opposed to not winning the Super Bowl with Dak.

We don’t realize how good we’ve got it.
Yeah but it might get old losing in the WildCard game EVERY year if we cut Dak...vs only losing in the WC round every other year with Dak and then losing in the divisional round twice every 5 years.

You ready to be the Giants and the Commanders?

At least we have a chance to win it every year.

Dak is playing like a top 5 player this year, so this opinion doesnt fly anymore.

Some of yall dont want a top 5 player, just so you dont have to pay them.

And won't have any this year or in 2021....
No,

But they will have a chance to draft a franchise changing QB while you celebrate paying $60 mil a year to a QB that gets beat by Baker Mayfield in the Wild Card game because he can't win games on the road.

He beat Tom Brady on the raod in the playoffs last year. This won't be difficult.

I wouldn’t pony up the money strictly based on the team results to financial responsibility ratio. Given Dak’s numbers, which are good, he’ll set the market and unintentionally handcuff (at least per poor Jerry) the team from getting help from anywhere but the draft (this year’s group is doing a bang up job so far) and the has-been bargain basement. I envision a rinse and repeat next year.

Grass isn’t always geeener on the other side, but dang…sometimes you just go to the other side just for a change.

I am old enough to remember the post Aikman era. Henson, Hutchinson, Carter… A cavalcade of clowns. Dak goes and this is a 5 to 7 win team for 3 years. At least. Not Dak’s fault QB salaries are out of control. Look at Arizona. Screwed with that little clown. QB is so hard to fill.
It is hard to fill. Sometimes you get lucky. People are focusing too much on QBs for the lack of playoff success. The better team usually wins. I would agree that the Cowboys probably would do much better with Mahomes or Peyton Manning in his prime, but they are almost impossible to find.

Why do people think Jared Goff or Garoppolo got to a SB? And why did the Rams win a SB when they decided to play a quarterback that never won anything? You have to put a team around most QBs. Now people are going to say the Cowboys choked in the playoffs. Yeah, most 5th seeds do.
