Biggest Offensive problem?

It was injuries. Most want to blame coaching, as its the vogue thing to do on here. And yes it is part, but not the sole reason.cneed better player and depth too.
But losing your QB and WR. And troyng to replace your RB with a banged up OL to start the season does not help. Losing your best defensive player in Scandrick, suspensions, and other nagging injuries takes its toll

Blame all you want on who you want, if that is what you must do.
But a 12-4 team last year, and one cheated play from the NFCC game. To your leaders lost the next year will derail any team.

They do not have the right backup QBs for what ever reason, mostly those players themselves did not perform, and the team should have better been prepared, but a lot of that is hind sight from fans expectations.

Yes, other backups have won, but they also had a full healthy team with better depth.Injuries derailed us, period.

The Ravens lead the league with players on IR and suited up Blain freaking Gabbert at QB and beat the Steelers yesterday.

Teams do not lose every dam game because of injuries unless your coaches are beyond incompetent.

1. Team Speed (minimal ballhawks)
2. Coverage schemes (see 1)
3. Offensive scheme (see 1)
4. Mental toughness
5. Lack of accountability
6. Coaching staff (laughable)
7. Karma

I don't like this ball-control offense anymore . Makes us look old, slow, boring, and it's not very successful. This is a passing league now with runs sprinkled in.

Agreed. The rules of the game have changed to benefit aggressive offensive play down field and we are not even remotely close to taking advantage of it.

Let me ask you this. When is the last time you saw this team go for a first down ON FIRST DOWN?

Fans want to blame the coaches for not winning without Romo.
Jerry blames the coaches for not coaching them up.
Fans want to blame Jerry for not having better backup QBs.
Jerry has to wonder why a bum like Weedon could win two games for Houston without even knowing their offense.
I wonder why the offense under Romo, even in victories, struggled.

The answer seems simple to me. We have a serious lack of playmakers on offense.
  • .

With all due respect I stopped reading here.

Yes, we do need more playmakers but it doesn't matter with coaches that tell the other team what we're doing and when we're doing it.

I never even thought about that. Wow.

Biggest problem on offense is our short yardage offense. We can't convert 3rd and 1 and we can't score inside the red zone. This shows me where Dez is so valuable to the team because you really don't need a great QB to convert score in the red zone or convert 3rd and 1's. You need a great QB to get you consistently to the red zone, score from beyond the red zone and one that avoids 3rd and 1's.

Even still, there's a problem if 1 receiver is that responsible for performance from 3rd and short and inside the red zone. I could maybe understand if a running back held that much responsibility, but a WR is a bit too much.

I think we have plenty of playmakers on offense. We just don't have our QB to allow them to make plays. I would probably try to move T-Will, he's limited in what he can do, Butler or another rookie WR could probably replace him and we have needs in the secondary to fill.

No need to over complicate the situation. Here's the top 2 reasons why our offense sucks:

1. Lack of game planning and simplistic garbage a** playbook.

2. lack of speed and play makers both at the tight end and wide receiver position.

that's it right there. fix that then we'll talk.

The janitor. And the janitor he replaced and the one that guy replaced and so on.

Hey, which janitor do you think would turn things around now? We need change.

The guy from the liquor store said he knows how to clean bathrooms.

Hanging 38 on Jacksonville, lol... not that impressive.

a good defense would allow this offense to open up and give it more possessions. A second stud WR and a replacement for Free would be really helpful too.

LOL so hanging 38 on Jacksonville isn't impressive? Seriously? When was the last time we scored a TD?

So all we need is a good defense and our offense will open up?

I really love your logic there......

Its year 5 under Garrett and the roster is devoid of so much talent that if Romo goes down, we are one of the 4 worst teams in the entire NFL (we are currently 4th in draft order).

How is that possible?

I just love the thought process of some of the people here.

First, they say that Murray isn't irreplaceable and just about anyone can run behind this oline. Now they're saying that our offense is so devoid of talent that we need to draft offense first and foremost.

I just don't get it.

Ridiculous.

Did we design a new offense from last year's highly productive one?

We should have, because that offense was designed for Tony Romo. We didn't have him, and be it lack of playmakers, or coaching adjustments, this offense was a disastrous joke. I think it's a combination of both. I don't mind the boring play calling if you've got the talent to go all Michael Jordan with it and say "I'm gonna spin right and drop a fade shot on you, are you ready?" , but the guy that could do that was in a sling on the sideline, and the playcalling remained the same. We've been saying for years it's a team game, when everyone blamed Romo for our lack of success, but now that he goes down, where's the rest of the team? Something stinks, and it'd be silly to only point a finger at one player, or one coach. Hopefully we put a band-aid on 2015 and can blame the whole team from top to bottom (expect perhaps the defense) for only winning 4 games.

OMG, I was screaming about this in the game-day thread. To me, Moore had no chance the way they called the game. He kept putting Moore in 3rd and long because of his stubborn running instead of trying to move the chains on 1st and 2nd down. This old fashion type of thinking isn't conducive to 2016 NFL football.

Rarely. Excellent point.

Garrett/Linehan had success last year with the 2nd and 6 and 3rd and 3 plays because of Romo and Murray and the inordinate amount of third downs they converted. Those two guys weren't around and the staff stubbornly played the same way but this year it was 2nd and 12 and 3rd and 9 with scrub QBs. This season was a full display of Garrett's lack of creativity, adjustments, and stubbornness.
