Bledsoe first on the field... Allready leading!

Taking into account how often Parcells is going to shove Julius , and the running game in general, down opponent's throats, I would be shocked if Bledsoe were to break White's Single Season Record.
Me too. In combination with our D being better and Bledsoe not being forced to throw in the 4th quarter coming from behind = less passing attempts.

Nors said:
Actually I'd go against that -

Parcells has said he thinks JJ is going to get 20 carries a game. Felt he over used him last year.

Bledsoe and Parcells to this day are in the NFL record books for throwing the ball. I think the record will be
You're not taking into account that Parcells brought Thomas in and drafted Barber to provide more than just depth. These two backs will spell Jones and contribute another 10-15 carries per game.

Right.

I don't think our D is giving up over 400 points again this season..which factored out to those extra seven points per game Nors thinks Drew will provide us with. Anyway, I think points scored and given up was a minus of about seven per game average.

We shouldn't need Bledsoe to put up 7 more per game each and every game, but combined with the hoped-for improvement on D, it would be great if he could/did.

LOL!

For some reason that makes me laugh B. :D

Payton did such a marvelous job with Vinny :) Its all on Bledsoe....Payton will have no effect on him...that Bill's baby.

Lets just hope Payton will have a positive effect on Romo and Henson....thats where I want to see Paytons magic.

Lets face it ,Peyton was limited ,as was Vinnies arm strength...New year and hope for both Drews.....

What was it that was just so majestic about Vinny Testaverde? You fawn over him and all I ever saw was a journeyman, listless career average QB. Bledsoe is head and shoulders more talented and more accomplished. 4 Time Pro Bowler and made it to 2 Super Bowls having won 2 AFC championship games.

I'm rooting for him and Parcells - BIG.

ARRRGH! I am hip to hip with Nors! Where is the fun it that?:laugh1:

A guy who just turned 33 in Feb, I would be more inclined to say that he is in his prime year for an NFL QB, which is 28-32. Talk to Mr. Elway, he won two SuperBowl titles at age 35 and 36 because they finally put a team around him. Put that same Elway on last years Bills team, and see if he wins anything.

Everytime someone speaks about an old QB not being able to get the job done, I always think of Chris Chandler. Not that he lit up anything, but the guy held his own until he was, what, like 160 :laugh1:

Bledsoe is a leader, on a team that wants to be led. It was nice of Campbell to ake the reigns last year, along with Anderson. Now, Anderson is gone. CAmpbell is still hurt, and the team needs the QB to be the leader. Bledsoe fits the part beter than any QB available this offseason. On top of that, he has a great arm and is very accurate. He'll use our strengths like Jason Witten. In my opinion, it could not have turned out any better for us. A definite upgrade all 7 of the last QB's.

After 3 long years at Buffalo, I'm glad to see him go. Good luck with enduring frustration game after game. Sure he can beat the average to below average teams, but he simply does not beat the good ones.

I don't like what I see. He is too slow. Can't get the ball out before getting "sacked." Besides, leaders aren't supposed to talk like they've got cotton wads in their brains.

No, not automatic..........just praying that he is the future because if he isn't we find ourselves falling farther behind the teams in our division at the QB position.

Too late to worry about that now.

Nors....can have some of that Bledsoe koolaid.....I've been out for years. :)

I just can't get Bledsoe in a Bills uniform out of my head.....I was stuck watching Bills games here in Eastern Ontario.....I needed my football fix...and learned to hate the Bills with a passion.

Bledsoe just didn't impress me.....strong arm sure.....but when you need him to win against good teams.....he never shows up....

Exactly. 5-34 against good teams. Whoop to do.

Funny handle.

I hope you aren't just a smack talker, because you could possibly add a lot to the discussion on what went wrong in Buffalo...and clear up some of the misconceptions re folks like Gilbride, Price, the oline...etc

Anyway, welcome.

Was that the 3-13 team he took over? How was that era PRE BLEDSOE? Did you forget 2002 when he threw for 4300 yards? YEAGH THAT SUCKS.....Did you miss the 9-2 run last year that almost put them in playoffs?

Be carefull what you and Miki ask for - cause you are about to go back to REAL losing seasons, starting NOW.

The defense got most of those wins and over the NFL dregs too. Drew was MIA in the Pittsburgh game.

A hater is a hater whether you hate Bledsoe or Henson. ;)

Speaking for myself.......because I would like to see Henson succeed does not = hate Bledsoe.

Henson's success=better team for years to come.

Everyone, even you Nors, should be able to compute that simple math.

Henson success=miracle

no....just like Hutch and Carter debate....

You have to pick sides and stick to it.....no wavering or you will get banned....thats the rules.

You can only like one Qb on the roster....

So which one should we like.

I actually agree with you here = Miracle

if we all had our choice about who would be our quarterback 95% of us would pick henson including me. but he hasn't proven anything on the field yet, and bledsoe has proven over and over in this league he can get the job done. can he do it by himself? no he proved that last year in buffalo. until they got a running game going and their defense started playing better we were headed for a top 10 pick with them.

everyone knows he's got the arm, and he's tough as hell. the only questions about him is can we protect him. now it's a big question i'll admit that but if we can it's not out of the realm of possibility that he can put up real good numbers and take us deep in the playoffs.

anyone who can't see that is blind as far as i'm concerned. we won 10 games with carter for crying out loud.

For cryin out loud, Carter has a winning record against Bedsore and a higher qb rating the last 2 years or was the defense responsible for the qb rating too.

I guess I'm in that 5% minoroty then. By the way, I disagree with that strongly. Besides, sounds like Henson struggled yesterday. Hopefully, he'll bounce back today. I remember, they tried to change Kosars delivery when he first came up. His accuracy took a nosedive, so they let him go back to the 3/4 arm delivery, and he went on to be on of the NFL's most accurate and successful QB's of his time. I hope they didn't screw up Henson.

Henson screwed himself up when he picked baseball over football.

Not jusst the sacks, but the way he was sacked. He often never had time to set his feet.

I don't think the Bills released Bledsoe because they blamed him for not making the playoffs. I think they relized that they were on a down turn and lucky to finish 8-8 last season. They realized that they were going to have to rebuild, at least offensively and they might as well start with the young guy and cut salary. While we, are on the upswing lacking a good QB.

They released him cause his decision making was that of green qb.They don't think their line was that bad. They think Bledsoe made their line look worse than it was. They're very excited about what Losman brings to their offense. They think he's an upgrade because his decision-making can't be much worse than Bledsoe and he has the mobility to make plans with his legs too. This was in the Buffalo papers.
