For me, I understand that the fruit of dissent sometimes is change. You can thank me when that happens.

Yes if you had a say so in matters fact is you don't. Your option limited your opinion usless. People pulls this crap every year I'm going to boycott guess what no one fricken cares and fact is that is BS because you will still watch the games so then it becomes nothing but hot air and you changed nothing. LOL

Are you really serious? This isn't some poorly run government. This is a football team.
Just find a new team. That seriously is delusional and flat out dumb.
You're going to change the Cowboys and Jerry with your powerful stance? Wow. Sure you will. That's cute!
Do you speak for all of the "realists"?

I don't lose sleep over the Dallas Cowboys, but I'm still a fan.

I used to lose sleep over the Cowboys ... in the 90s. But I'm so used to the mediocrity that I've become numb to the pain of loss. I'm still a fan, but I just don't have as much emotionally invested in the team anymore. :(

I feel the same way. What's the fun in gnashing your teeth and wailing about how terrible the team will be and how pathetic the coaching and ownership is? Be positive, have some hope. There's plenty of areas in life where it pays to be realistic and temper expectations, I don't think sports is one of them. If you're going to be constantly negative fan (I'm not sure what purpose it serves, but what do I know) at least offer some constructive or well thought out criticism.

I'd rather like the players on my team, root for them to do well, and therefore get to be wholly invested if indeed they do surpass expectations.

What's more fun to do, sit a minute or two and talk about what you would do with the money if you won the lottery, or sit around and talk about how miserable you'll be if you lose your job and get hit by a bus?

This is a fair assessment.

Not sure it's so much "blind homer" as much as looking at things with a half full glass perspective as opposed to the half empty....some thrive on negativity and some don't

Some sit at home and never spend a penny on the team also...

Just because someone doesn't spend all their time coming up with new ways to trash the team and keep repeating how many years it's been since the Cowboys won a SB doesn't mean they're blind. Are you that scared to say anything good about the Cowboys from fear of being called a "homer". If you can't understand why someone won't join in the constant picking apart and bashing of their favorite team it's you that are blind.

Where is the source who confirmed that in fact they're blind people on here. It's an insult to blind people. I hope they don't see this.

I love when people get so worked up about a sports team that they have absolute zero to do with, in terms of wins and losses. It's hilarious to me that anything sports related is that consuming to anyone.

LOL, .. says the poster with over 22,000 posts.

lol. Yeah says the guy with those posts over...I don't know...5 or 6 six years and goes days to weeks at a time without ever logging in here. Don't get your panties in a bunch because we don't all get pissed off or have our lives ruined because the Dallas Cowboys didn't do what we wanted them to do. It's cute though. I laughed. So thanks for that. :)

LOL, .. wow, .. you sure read a lot into my short little post.

I have like 10k posts since 2004 so yea, 22k + seems like a lot to me.
So when the guy with 22k + ridicules people that are consumed by anything sports related seemed funny to me.
A little of the pot/kettle dynamic going on there.

And I don't consider myself a homer or a hater, and did not address that, so not sure why you are all bent about my little post.

But yea, you're right, .. it is funny.

I'm not bent man. I'm good. You're good. I don't consider posts on a fan forum anything about being obsessed. It takes a total of 10-15 minutes out of a persons day, tops, to post here. That's not what I was refering to, unless of course I guess it's a person whose life revolves around making sure they post each and every day, but to each their own.

Either way man I'm good. My life won't change any based on what the Cowboys do or don't do. What you, or anyone for that matter, does or doesnt think of me wont change my life in anyway either and I'm sure its the same for you. :)

The line below is from an article Why Meetings Are The Worst Possible Way To Get Things Done. It is so fitting for the people here that love to stomp their feet and complain to anyone that will listen how awful this team is. The more the whine to everyone the more they convince themselves they are right.

The people who were allowed to talk did not improve their accuracy, but they radically improved their own opinion of their accuracy.

What i dislike are posters who throughout the years have shown to have only one slant, be it defending everything Dallas does (and i mean everything) or slamming everything, because nothing is that black and white.

I see it generally from the 'homers', to be honest, we have some posters who simply troll this board jumping into threads to defend every single thing the Cowboys do and take a very high moral tone to anyone who disagrees. I've observed it for years.

Now some will say we have a lot of negative posters who simply trash for the sake of trashing, we have a couple, not as many as people think IMHO, mainly due to the fact that the Cowboys have seriously floundered for a long period of time, they simply have more ammunition when it come to complaining versus praising. I sense more frustration than hatred.

Personally i am also just plain frustrated, being an old schooler and enjoying both the Landry days and the glory of the early 90s, my frustration stems from what i know might have been versus what actually happened.

Dallas could be so so successful, they have all the advantages, money, a history, a great state and city for athletes to play, exposure for said athletes, did i mention money?.. a huge advantage in that we simply can spend like few teams in the league can, bonus money, player salaries, coaching salaries, scouting, facilities, you name it we can have it, but..

Jerry.

He simply had to be the man, had to be so out there, his hubris more important than, well, anything. He would be revered if he would only set up Dallas to use the wonderful advantages, that admitted he is responsible for.

But they're wasted, it's so sad.

But back to the point at hand, because i drifted, people need to take a hard look at themselves if they are posting so frequently on a message board with simply one angle and no other. As mentioned above i've seen it here for years.

Edit - and they know who they are, both sides.

I love the Dallas Cowboys but hate Jason Garrett.

I just want to win and win now. Screw the salary cap, trades, etc. Just win. It's my right as a fan.

I just don't understand how so many on here can be such blind homers when it comes to the Cowboys. I am constantly shaking my head while reading through threads filled with happy fan post. These blind homers are Jerry's wet dream who buy all the crap he is selling. If the blind homers would step into reality for a while and take off their rose colored glasses, they would see that this organization has managed to screw up the best rosters this team has had since the mid 90's with piss poor coaching. Since 2007, we had a team that was stacked and pissed it away on Wade "Powder Puff" Phillips and Jerry's Red Headed Trainee. We wasted the prime years of Romo, Ware, Witten, etc... on idiot coaches. I will never understand how so many can be so blind. They can't see the forest due to all the trees being in the way. People need to wake up and step into reality.

I agree with a lot of what you said. I for 1 thought Garrett should have been gone. So I totally understand your "Git Rid of Garrett". I can go back over the past 2 years where his inability to manage the clock lost us the game. 1 of those games in each season equals playoffs. Now people can say Romo cost us games too, but being that he is the reason we won the games we won for the most part....he get gets a pass in this post. I can think of 1 game (and I cant even remember which team we played) that i thought to myself, "We came in hear with a good game plan".....Here is where I disagree with your post. I hate JG but there is a difference between blind homers and optimism. My reaonsoning is if we can just put a little defense on the field, this team can win 10 games. Im not saying that we will, but if the defense is ranked 20 instead of 32, and Jason Garret gets a little better managing clock...Im talking just a little better, this team is 11 and 5. People are hopeful because we purely got beat in 2 games last year. Bears.and Saints. Every other game we were right there. 4 we purely gave away. I mean we truly gave it to the other team.. Chargers. Packers, Lions, the other slips my mind at the moment.

I guess what Im sayin is this. In a perfect world. Jason would have been gone 2 years ago, but in our current situation, he can only get better. Hes here. Its hasnt changed.. Hes gotten a little better every year. Now dont confuse this as me being a Jason Garret backer, because I dont understand whats taking him so long to get better, because all I hear is he is an Ivy leaguer who is soooooo smart, but I do support him because he is still the coach of the team that I love. So even if this Idiot of a coach makes a small stride forward, and Marinelli does anything with this Defense....We wont be as good as we could be with a real coach, but we can win a few extra games...which would mean playoffs, and a division title.

Good post.

There are two types of posters. Those that see the team for what it is and those that can't accept it and attempt to make villains out of those that can.

I try to quickly identify the latter so I don't waste too much time reading their stuff.
