Torrance would start when tyron gets injuredTorrance would not start on the Cowboys. At the very least Schoonmaker is the second tight end in 12 personnel.

exactly. The 2 elite backs were really the only 2 worthy of being drafted within the first 3 rds. They were long gone. Drafting a back just for the sake of filling a need would have been dumb in rd 2-5.We did the right thing. Many are dart throws, but thats the nature of drafting especially in a weak draft. Richardson was way overdrafted by 5 rds. The kid isnt an NFL QB. Never will be. His Florida film tells the tale. The Cowboys have a plan especially MM. We as fans don’t know or understand it. He said what he wanted the Cowboys to do and the Joneses backed him. This draft potentially made the defense better if not elite. The draft gave us the best blocking tight end. Schoonmaker blocks defensive ends by himself. The draft gave us a young offensive lineman with position flex and plenty of game reps in Richards. Duece is one of the best offensive weapons in the draft. We got a developmental cornerback that can challenge in the future or if needed during the end of the season. The San Jose St. kid can play. The Cowboys will be tougher. This draft did not have many flashy players why else would two running backs get picked in the top 12.
he has 2 bad knees that were flagged.Washington was flagged for an injury concern
Torrance would start when tyron gets injured
i like richards.Torrence nearly went undrafted. I think he was over estimated. We drafted a kid Richards with even more starts and flex. I think when we look back at it later, we will be happy. Th TE at 58 was early, I agree.
Mac Brown swears by his grit and upside.i like richards.
good player.
The Colts are hoping they can find a Superman to play quarterback. I get their philosophy after dealing with Ryan and Wentz. To me the worst pick was Carolina drafting a 5’10 190 pound quarterback with an average arm. Supposedly he is really smart but I don’t think his brain can overcome his physical limitations.exactly. As a Michigan fan I like Schoomaker. I think he is solid. However, I am not sure he is much better than Ferguson or Hendershot so why waste the pick. I would have picked the Oline man from Florida
And Schultz is no longer a member of the Dallas Cowboy at age 26.....Yes, and Schultz had 4 years of experience at the same age.
I think drafting TE high plus not not drafting WR till the end of the draft both point towards the Cowboys wanting to play more 12 personnel. Either that or they are putting a ton of faith in Gallup.Do they?
To be fair tho i aint want torrance either
The Director of College scouting was on the draft show and he seemed to indirectly indicate that the decision at 58 was between these two and the belief was Schoonmaker could help more this season.Still on that mindset Kraft would of been better as I see him being a better receiver and better after the catch/contact.
But we'll see. I'm just some idiot
It’s possible they like Schoonmaker in the H-Back role more. This is exactly what I was going to mention. Mike McCarthy used very little 12 personnel.
this is exactly what we did with Kelvin joseph too.there was a run on CBs and we panicked and picked the wrong Cb instead of Samuel who actually knows how to play CB.it shows they are not learning from their mistakes. He is a decent enough player, and can help a team. There WAS a run on tight ends...but this was just way over-reaching. Seems like the quintessential need pick... like you just HAVE to have a Tight End with that pick, and if the best one available is only the 140th best player in the draft, who cares, we MUST take a tight end here. If he was the BEST player on their board at that time, then we are in BIG trouble. I kinda hope they were just picking for need there, or else the evaluation process is seriously flawed if they actually had him ranked that high
Until something is done with Smith and Steele, the 'ol cubbard looks pretty full to this fan. This thread basically boils down to a bunch of people whining that they picked Schoon over Torrence.
I don't think he has completed his 3 year window yet. What about Brown?this is exactly what we did with Kelvin joseph too.there was a run on CBs and we panicked and picked the wrong Cb instead of Samuel who actually knows how to play CB.it shows they are not learning from their mistakes.
As if it came down to just the Schoon and Torrence for the 58th selection, and the Cowboys decided to choose the Schoon instead. This thread basically boils down to a bunch of people whining that they picked Schoon over Torrence.
