BR: Garrett isn't coaching for his job (speculation)

Yea man Sean Payton is the one that really eats at me. Anybody with any kind of football acumen knew for years that Sean would end up being a great head coach.

I remember when Parcells was hired. I wasn't very happy about it because of Parcells age. But I told my dad that the best thing that would come out of Parcells being hired is that we would probably get us a great young coach when he steps down. And Jerry lets him go to new orleans. Then Jerry pays Garrett a ridiculous amount as a coordinator so he would stay. Almost like the ultimate kick in the nads to all the fans

Well, I was one who actually liked the Garrett hire because I saw him as a potential Payton 2.0 and because he knew how things ran in Dallas. Boy was I wrong. I am stunned that Garrett, who considers Jimmy one of his influences, has been this inept. He is touted as being smart. He played smart as a backup QB. But he has no ability to learn from his mistakes. Again, I am just stunned. He has to go. He might be the worst coach in the league right now.

A) we have to cut a lot of players this summer to manage the cap. Major roster turnover. B) we will likely fire both Kiffin and Callahan. Major coaching turnover. C) we will not have the money or draft picks to compensate for the major losses we will incur. Major talent drop.

And Garrett is the guy we are going to trust to get us through this mess? We are in this position partly because of him. Clearly the formula with him as coach is not working.

They don't have to cut any players to get under the cap.

They should cut Ware and Austin because they're toast.

lol, he's cost us 4 games now? It keeps increasing. I have no idea how you can be so influential as to cost your team 4 games but have no effect on the wins.

Was it not coaching blunders that cost us the Kansas City, San Diego, Detroit and Green Bay games?

Where's that list of accomplishments/good decisions by coach Garrett?

JJ says Jason's future is bright with the Cowboys. Not his future as HC, just his "future".

JJ says he's "learning everyday". Not learning to be a good HC, just "learning".

Is Jerry trying to groom Jason to be the next GM?

Well, if true, can't say I'm crazy about it. Not surprised either. But as I've said before, we put too much blame on Garrett. He needs to be better, no doubt about it, and whether he'll get to the point where he needs to be, I don't know. But as long as we have JJ in charge, sticking his nose into everything, and a team stacked with players that, for one reason or another aren't very good - and seem determined to screw up even when Garrett does make good decisions - who the coach is, is largely irrelevant. I don't think Walsh, or Belichek, or Jimmy, or any coach you could name, could win with this team, in this organization.

Jimmy already did once.

I was hoping Garrett didn't do well when he took over the team but then after he did ok and the team kind of rallied around him I knew he was gonna stay. I really wanted Jerry to ditch the whole staff and get us a fresh set of coaches in here

Signing Dan Bailey seems like a good decision so far.

How many bad kickers are there in today's NFL?

Lots of good kickers around the league kicking for other teams that used to kick for dallas. Hmm.. I wonder why?

Garrett is 4-19 against teams with a record over .500.

Which means he wins games when we have more talent than the other team, and loses when he doesn't. Indicates to me his coaching isn't having much affect on our wins.

Listening to JJ talk about Orton, saying "we spent a lot of money several years ago for just this circumstance...and signed Kyle Orton for over 10 million dollars (emphasized) three years ago, just for this very occasion." So, one thing is apparent. Jerry has lost all sense of time. As for Orton, I think he's got a lot of pressure on him ,which is a bit unfair, but Jerry is right. They did give him a lot of money to be a backup.

In all honesty, Jason has had 2 seasons in a row where our team has been desimated by injuries. He probably deserves one more season.

If they can hire someone to manage the clock and adjust adjust at halftime i agree

Any of the coaches you just listed, and Romo wouldnt of even been playing against Washington. We should of sealed up this joke a division weeks ago.

No, he had a MUCH better team, and an owner that let him pick his own staff, and run things the way he saw fit, at least for a time. Give him this team, then much like his time with the Dolphins, he doesn't win anything.

Well, that's the point. Jimmy would be a guy that would come here and improve the entire organization because he actually knows what he is doing. He might not win with this current group but he'd weed out the deadwood.
