Wasn't he supposed to be suspended last season? Why is this so slow? Let's just appeal Gregory and Lawrence's suspensions so they don't take effect until 2020.

That is why the NFL is fighting this so much......they don't want every player running to federal court over punishments.........it is also why the courts favor arbitration awards so often, collectively bargained has to mean something........Brady is being a selfish jerk, wasting the NFLPA's time and money when he knows he is guilty....

I think it was silly of the NFL to appeal this, it isnt good for the image of the league to bring this whole thing
back again.

One had to know this was coming.

Judge Berman had no legal authority/right to overturn the suspension. Only in a case where if the league had given Brady a suspension longer than 4-games could Berman have overturned the suspension length...but only down to 4 games per the CBA.

The CBA gives Goodell full authority to dole out the punishment as long as he is within the guidelines of the length of the suspension according to the CBA.

I found that Berman's ruling to be one of the most offensive parts of Deflate-Gate. How he could determine that he had the right to rebuke the entire suspension was beyond me.

I don't like Goodell as much as the next person, but the CBA clearly states that he has the authority to levy this 4-game suspension. Glad to see the appeals court had common sense on this one.

I won't even get into the details but some of his comments were laughable and biased.
Not to mention, there not his place to say.

Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned. Brady restructured his deal in offseason to make loss of $$$ per game suspended much less than if he were suspended last year... Smart Mofo.

I gotta lol

Sounds like too many parties with Kraft. Another fanboy judge:

According to the New York Post, Kraft and Berman, along with the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Martha Stewart, NY Giants co-owner Jon Tisch, Katie Couric, and Alec Baldwin, were at a soiree Saturday hosted by Discovery Communications CEO David Zaslav.

So it’s not like Kraft invited Berman over for a beer, or vice versa. There were plenty of luminaries on hand, although one wonders if Berman would have been invited if not for his sudden fame as the DeflateGate judge.

The Patriots offered the New York Post this statement:

“It was a chance encounter at a social event with hundreds of guests. There was a brief introduction and an exchange of pleasantries that lasted no more than a couple of minutes.”

Brady is appealing his suspension. I had a feeling this wasn't over yet.

They said 27,000 cases were appealed to the full circuit and 8 have been heard

I don't think a football game rises to that level of appeal

Brady is just being a sore loser....don't do the crime if you can't do the time

I'm pretty sure the NFLPA is paying for his defense. So, he has nothing to lose by appealing.

I laughed hard at DeMaurice Smith's defense....'THE NFL ARE BULLIES!'

Excellent legal defense there Mr. Smith.

A multi-billion dollar business and the pack of lawyers it hires I'm sure can seem to be bullish at times, but in this case I'm of the opinion Brady needs to take his medicine and let this thing die.

I love how they say Goodell shouldn't be the arbitrator when that is the most important part of his job

It is like saying Brady shouldn't throw the ball
