Well there are built excuse already.
Too many assistant coaching changes, no Dez, No Witten, scheme changes on both sides of the ball. Rookie to replace Hitchens. There are probably a few others. Garret gets 2 more years regardless. Unless the team totally fails like 4-12, then I still will question if it happens. As all players need to remain healthy even with that record.

Remember the years of salary cap hell. Being stuck with aging overpriced vets. Not only bad draft decisions, but bad resource allocation decisions. Remember all the bad free agency decisions, and roster decisions. Contract decisions. Bill Belichick wouldn't have won the superbowl with this roster either.

Tom Brady wins no SB's if Garrett is the head coach.

I have already resigned myself to the realization that if this season is another missed playoff season, the new coaching staff/young team excuse will be played by many.

ON the contrary. If Bellicheck was the head coach here in Dallas over the last 8 years we probably make the playoffs 7 out of 8 times and who knows what kind of success we have there.

I guess we cant judge Pederson either for winning a SB in his first season without his QB or LT. Way too soon, amIright?

There's were a lot of factors involved in that mess too. It started with hiring Garrett before your head coach (no well run team ever does that garbage!) and Wade himself hired the wrong guy (Brian Stewart) to run his defense.

But when you're calling a pass play deep in your own end with :04 seconds in the half after a 10-yard holding penalty? (Garrett) Yiure obviously in way over your head.

And of course, the Jerry factor.

Well I was told in 2 more years we'll be in the SB. It takes 10 years to become a great coach. lol

That's a fair question, and I don't have an answer. I'll pose another question though- what if Dak takes a big step back this year, and the team suffers as a result? Do you fire the coach based on a bad record caused by poor QB play? There's some judgment involved here, and more nuance than the "Garrett Haters Support Group" likes to admit.

So we should give him 2 or 3 more years while he tries to find a QB. He had a great QB and didn't do anything with him. That's all I need to know.
