I don't think McCoy or chase are much of a step up over a Moore if they are a step up at all.

However if they keep him as backup without signing another vet... That would tend to indicate drafting a QB and maybe in the first even if Jerry is saying otherwise.

Now if Jerry decides to go into the season with Moore as backup and does not draft one of the top three QBs.... This team will get what it deserves and Jerry will have nobody to blame but himself.

Frankly... If Tony goes the next three years without missing multiple games in multiple seasons it will not be due the Cowboys planning it will be due to good dumb luck.

Yep. Last year we signed McFadden prior to the draft and then proceeded on passing on drafting a RB. We are definitely drafting a QB this year, maybe two if we don't draft one in the early rounds.

Man, our defense catches a break from our fans. Why is that?

I don't get that either.

Yeah, obviously the QBing stuck out like a sore thumb, but hardly ever on here to you see a post deriding the defense and its inability to generate turnovers.

Just like you posted... the defense was historically inept at it. The defense did none of the QB's any favors.

I think it's that Garrett is an offensive coach, and they see it as making excuses for the offense. But, man. They've been so bad on defense for a long time around here. They'd gotten better the last two seasons, but not enough that we ought to be giving them a free pass. Especially when we also can't take the ball away to save our lives.

We were equally inept on both sides of the ball last year. Sure the defense can and must be improved, but the offense was equally horrid.

If the defense had been an "offensive player" if you know what I mean... there would have been thread after thread about how bad he was. My god, look at how many posts have taken McFadden to task and the guy had 1,000 yards. But the defense? Oh, it was just fine. o_O

Outside of the backup QB play, I think the defense was far worse than the offense overall.

Carolina's defense gave their offense the ball back 39 times... The Cowboys defense gave the Cowboy offense the ball back 11. How many of those extra 28 turnovers did Newton & Co. capitalize into points– probably a lot. Now the Cowboys offense wouldn't have turned those turnovers into the same points? NO. But they would have put more points on the board than what they did.

I like Moore. He has a week arm but has alot of other positive attributes.

After Romo left the field for the final time, we never got to see a "pro-style" passing game until Moore played. Yeah, he made mistakes but he looked the part.

Good post BrainPaint................you nailed it, this organization doesn't plan for crap, always being reactive instead of proactive.

That is not how winning organizations operate.............could explain why we have 1 playoff appearance the last 5 years.

after the top 3 the rest are pretty awful.Bad in the sense that we will be lucky to get 2 backups out of all of them.

The NFL arm is there because several are making the throws, it's between the ears, heart and determination that can't be measured ... just yet.

Kellen Moore as starting QB whenever Romo goes down = slow death. Maybe he is better than Weeden or Cassell, but not by much IMO. Does seem to hint Boys will draft a QB, but knowing them, they probably think throwing a third round pick at it will solve everything
