They thought they had a back up.
Did they? Then why did they bother to bring Matt Moore in?

They were wrong. They thought they had a back up.
37 actually.

37 year old career back up, journeyman qb on top of that. Hes not without skill and a 4th is likely just the starting point but its a bit rich.
Some of you guys are missing the point of bringing in a vet QB. It's not to save the season if Romo was to have a season ending injury. We all know the season would most likely be over then (see last year). The reason would be to win a game or two if Tony had to miss 2-4 games. In other words, go 2-2 instead of 0-4.
Good point. I think they like Kellen but wanted to see if Mat was an upgrade. I cant say if they werent impressed or didn't want to pay.
I think it's a lot rich. Especially to then pay him over $4 million on top of that. Good team guy, good player, but nit worth that cost. If he or Austin Davis are eventually released? I'd be glad to revisit the idea then.
Davis got a concussion last night. Could mean he's the odd man out.
Whatever speculating we do, the fact is that they ultimately made decisions that got us here.
Sure but Im going to withhold judgement until I get a glimpse of the qbs tonight.
I think Foles got $1.75M if that's any indication of a number we didn't want to beat.
I don't want McCown for no draft picks at zero salary.
The Cowboys waited too long? What did you think the plan was? To sign a big name FA? To trade up and draft one? Neither of those were going to happen. They liked Moore and Showers and drafted a QB they want to work with for a year. Now that Moore is down they are desperate? The media is preaching it but so far I've seen no evidence the Cowboys FO agrees with that. The Cowboys waited too long to look for a backup. Of course teams are going to want more. They know we're desperate.

And I used facts to show your statement to have been completely false. And then you ran somewhere else in an attempt to somehow justify it by pointing to other bad contracts and rookie quarterbacks as some sort of justification.
