Did they? Then why did they bother to bring Matt Moore in?

Good point. I think they like Kellen but wanted to see if Mat was an upgrade. I cant say if they werent impressed or didn't want to pay.

We went 4-12 last year. You don't go 4-12 and win the SB the next year. Why would we give up value to get a veteran backup quarterback?

It's delusional thinking.

37 year old career back up, journeyman qb on top of that. Hes not without skill and a 4th is likely just the starting point but its a bit rich.

I think it's a lot rich. Especially to then pay him over $4 million on top of that. Good team guy, good player, but nit worth that cost. If he or Austin Davis are eventually released? I'd be glad to revisit the idea then.

Some of you guys are missing the point of bringing in a vet QB. It's not to save the season if Romo was to have a season ending injury. We all know the season would most likely be over then (see last year). The reason would be to win a game or two if Tony had to miss 2-4 games. In other words, go 2-2 instead of 0-4.

You hand the ball off and play tough defense. If you're a SB team, then that will be enough.

Whatever speculating we do, the fact is that they ultimately made decisions that got us here.

Davis got a concussion last night. Could mean he's the odd man out.

lol I'd rather have Showers or Prescott backing Romo up than spending that much on a washed up McCown who was never anything special in the first place. He's not worth a 4th round pick, not at any point in his career.

The Cowboys waited too long to look for a backup. Of course teams are going to want more. They know we're desperate.
The Cowboys waited too long? What did you think the plan was? To sign a big name FA? To trade up and draft one? Neither of those were going to happen. They liked Moore and Showers and drafted a QB they want to work with for a year. Now that Moore is down they are desperate? The media is preaching it but so far I've seen no evidence the Cowboys FO agrees with that.

You make a great Minister of Information.....DAL could not have messed up the backup QB position any worse......they don't go after anyone and then say no one is available....don't draft anyone for years but won't pay or trade for someone decent.....if counting on Moore and Showers was the plan they need to fire the plan makers

I'm glad they're not acting desperate and I applaud them for doing so. No need to follow up an unfortunate situation by making a panic-fueled mistake on top of it. Been there, done that.

Let's give the youngins a chance.

And I used facts to show your statement to have been completely false. And then you ran somewhere else in an attempt to somehow justify it by pointing to other bad contracts and rookie quarterbacks as some sort of justification.

you said no one makes that kind of money as a backup QB and we showed you 6 or 7 that do....but keep claiming some kind of pathetic victory....
