What happened?
Whoa...Ill tell you what.......how about I just make the angry insulting guy disappear? Poof!!!
I see him used as a pass rusher on passing downsI will believe it when I see it. I think he will improve as the season goes on.
Another wild claim. You made a whole laundry list of things that had to go right. I talked about two things. Lee going down and another injury. You actually made my point. A whole bunch of things need to right and only a few need to go wrong. And obviously Lee actually getting hurt would be par for the course.
Bottom line is my few things are much more likely to happen then your laundry list of positives. Now go ahead and curse me out some more and make more wild claims.
This is true.
True. Very true.Nope, it's really not. I never said everything has to go right for the defense to be good, I said there were positive possibilities just as there are negative ones. He stated one side, as if that was the only possible direction things could go. I merely showed there is another side too.
IMO the real question is can he effectively play 4-3 DE at 250-258lbs .......I'm not sure
Maybe rotational but not as a FULL-TIME starter.
So I get grief if he makes it through? IF he makes it through and is playing well, then you can give me grief. I will gladly take it.
Well yeah, you were the guy who said this, right?
"The odds of Gregory making it through with no suspension or injury are at about 50% the way I am seeing it."
I'm encouraged by the fact that his "ONE sack" happened to come in the last game that he played. When he was finally over the ankle injury that hampered him for his entire rookie season. You remember, the one nobody wants to acknowledge or talk about?
And his best performance was his last one. And it happened to come against one of - if not the best - left tackles in the game in Jason Peters.
Why would you think he's lost his quick step?
I think that this claim is totally false. This team hasn't stuck by this player through all of his trials and tribulations to simply cut him now.
Worry about Charles Tapper, not Randy Gregory.
This article still won't stop the naysayers and the usual suspects though. I am sure they will be coming out of the woodwork soon.
Instead of accepting the possibility Gregory can compete at a high level by the end of TC, and stay clean, they will give the usual stuff.
Gregory can get in the mythical football shape over an off season, just as well as any other player can.
That football shape may only apply if a player returns mid season.
I don't have to see a full-time "starter", I just need to see a guy who's out there in obvious pass rushing situations.
college? did you say college? you did say college? right? unfortunately this is the NFL.....His “liability” against the run has been disproven by methodical all-22 and intensive college coverage/video.
It’s a catch phrase here in Cowboyland. He is very adept at stifling run, in the admittedly small amount of gameplay we have from him.
No one is calling him Tank-level talent at the run, but he isn’t shabby. He’s aggressive and penetrates, and has IQ to find the runner
your young arent youWith all the Gregory ball washing in here, it feels like 2015 again.
Should I not be grumpy about a 7 time loser, wasted 2nd round draft pick? Maybe we just all applaud him. Collins is out indefinitely with a foot, and Irvin is gone for at least 4 games. Please tell me what is there to be excited about on the Dline? Its all falling apart again before the season even starts. And training camp hasnt even started. More injuries coming no doubt. One more major injury on the Defense and we will be one of the worst units in the NFL. Lee goes down and we will be.
Woooohooooo!!!! Go Cowboys!!!!!
And who are we depending on the save the day? Randy Gregory!!!! Yahhh!!!!!!
their are sourcescollege? did you say college? you did say college? right? unfortunately this is the NFL.....
and the tapes you saw are from 2015...right...its 2018...3 years later...
Well being he hasn't played much NFL....what else could you use to look at what type of player he is?college? did you say college? you did say college? right? unfortunately this is the NFL.....
and the tapes you saw are from 2015...right...its 2018...3 years later...
If he had a sickness or something mental going down....I can't say he let this team down. A bit harsh.I don’t trust Gregory to stay clean, and I believe he let the team down badly early here. But I have little doubt about his talent. He’s a talented spot rusher already and can get better. The several of the few games he played without being suspended he played with a HAS, too, remember.
I’d like to see him and Collins in the lineup together at some point. He’s a good piece in a rotation of 8 or 9 guys.
So you're basing all of your lofty declarations off ONE SINGLE GAME OVER 18 MONTHS AGO AND HASN'T PLAYED A SINGLE DOWN SINCE?
Now I hope he's able to get past his short comings but to make any kind of written in stone statement without seeing what kind of football shape he's in now and how he plays now after that long layoff is moronic. It's funny that a couple of people that have actual NFL experience have said he's got his work cut out for him to make the 53 man roster the implication is not starting but making the team. Actual football people don't think a single game over 18 months ago equates some great career.
Also the Cowboys weren't paying him and he wasn't costing a roster spot while he was suspended. SO what was the big rush or need to cut him before they could see what he can do if he ever got reinstated. Weak, very weak argument.

Here's the pic Cyberbob posted to land credence to his "skinny" argument
