Oh and Jason Witten is my favourite Dallas Cowboy of all-time. Most likely always will be.
Yep, when we weren't good, he didn't know it and just played his butt off. We get a bunch of players catching time outs while he catches the Man of the Year award.
He is not what he used to be but show me a player that exemplifies that term "Mr. Cowboy", that was assigned to Bob Lilly, more than Jason Witten?
I get the desire to win and have a younger and more athletic TE but when he was on the field, I could look out there and say to myself "yeah, lots of things wrong with this game but that guy right there, he's what's right about it".
And he exhibited the best leadership even off the field. That day that Dez was going off on the media in the locker room and asking Dalrymple for help and getting none and Garrett stuck his head in and back out again, Witten quietly excused himself from the questioning and just walked over and stood beside Dez. I don't think there were two more polar opposite players on the team than those two but when Dez needed him, he had his back more than once.
