There is such a long list of possibilities. A lot of candidates. BUT there is another long list that should be considered. That is the list of teams that could be looking for a new coach at the year's end. The list will likely include bottom feeders like the Giants, Jags, Raiders, Browns and a couple of surprises. The Cowboys can compete favorably with that crowd. But there is also the possibility that teams with good rosters will be looking also. The Bengals may turn Burrow and Co over to new leadership. And is this Andy Reid's last season? He may or may not step down. And what about "da Bears?" Chicago has a lot of offer roster wise.

I think the top contenders for a HC job will want to wait and see who is hiring. Guys like Vrabel, Ben Johnson and Belichick probably will get interviews with any and all teams. Salary will be a factor but control of the roster decisions and the condition of the current roster will also be consideration.

A lot of guys would like to be a NFL head coach. The Cowboys will get a well known guy. There are only 32 of these jobs for a bunch of seekers.

All I can do at this time is take WILD guess about the next Cowboy HC and hope it works for him and the team. My wild guess at this time is Kellen Moore.

I love Bill way more than most candidates. His detail oriented approach would actually give us an advantage that we will never see with Mike. You'd see way less pre-snap penalties and an actual dignified effort to build up the trenches.

For Bill, I would need to understand if he's able to bring his own cap guy with him and who is calling the plays on offense. The LAST thing this franchise needs is the stench of Josh McDaniels/Matt Patricia.
Yes, I worry about his coordinators.

Give me your next HC. Jerry has the masses pissed at him so does he go big, or does he go comfortable? This team needs an Alpha not a yes man.

If he gets this wrong it will set this thing back for the next 5 years.

Call your shot.
If I was betting on what Jerry will do it would be Bill
If I was making the decision it would be johnson

I'll go with Bill Belichick.

Ben Johnson is intriguing but I think his price tag will keep the Jones boys away. Plus, he doesn't have HC experience and won't be a big enough "splash" for the Jones boys.

They need a "splash" after their 2024 offseason and regular season. I have never seen Jerry Jones get his feet put to the fire for the results on the field like I have this season. Even Peyton Manning took a lighthearted shot at him during the CMAs last night.

Belichick, getting Micah's deal done at the top of the new League starting, and some moves in the early party of free agency will do the trick to get the media and fans back interested in his toy franchise for the right reason. And most importantly, it will get them off his back.
Bill might be the one guy Jerry would go get a FA for. I’d take Ben Johnson but Jerry won’t. Bill can bring some much needed discipline and Jerry respects him so he might actually listen to him sometimes

Only someone completely desperate will come here. Moore wouldn't touch this crap hole in a million years.

After the amount of control he had in NE, control over personnel will likely be a sticking point in negotiations. Bill will likely ask for it in his contract as Jimmy reportedly had.

Belichick is probably going to ask for control of "picking the groceries", control over hiring and firing his staff, control over decisions regarding playing time/snaps, and a hefty salary (probably no more than 3 years). Wouldn't shock me if he asked Jerry to end his weekly 105.3 appearances, post game Q&As outside the locker room, Stephen to cease 105.3 appearances, and any talk related to player injuries or who appears ready to play.

All of this leads me to believe that it won't happen because Jerry and the family aren't serious about winning.

We shall see how it goes.

Bill Belichek

This is still a better job than the Jaguars, Raiders, Jets, etc...

BB knows with his age and recent track record, he's not in as much demand as he thought. He'll be willing to put up with some of the circus here to be on a relevant franchise.

Won’t be Deion as he’d steal the spotlight from Jerry. Belichek makes a lot of sense and is the type of disciplinarian that would clean up a lot of the blown assignments and pre snap penalties. But once again he’d steal Jerry’s spotlight. In the end I think we end up with a Kellen Moore or God forbid, Mike Zimmer.
