Calling off the dogs...

Dave, you seem to have a case of Parcells Longing. I don't remember you being negative at all last year or the year before. Now it seems like you look for the dark cloud in every silver lining.

Please don't say I have an agenda, it's ignorant to do so. I want us going all out all the time. That is an agenda? If we can win by fifty we should. If it's close and we still win that's great also. But to pull up on some one, that's just stupid. It can bite you.
The agenda is using any possible perceived slight to discount the Boys. You implied that we are not a championship team because we called off the dogs.

I simply refuted the statement that championship teams never do that, and therefore your implication that the boys aren't a championship team is necessarily false.

Naww. I liked Parcells, no doubt. I knew he would at the very least get talent on this team. I also knew that talent would need time to gel. We are so close to being the team we all have been screaming for I don't want to take any steps backward.
I'm competitive in every thing I do. That includes what I like in my sports teams. I was very happy with the win yesterday, very happy. The suggestion that we let up, should bother anybody. We aren't in position to let up on anybody. We need to put fear in the teams we play, being soft won't do that.
It's my opinion just like everyone has theirs.

Go for the jugular every time.:D

Some one else mentioned fourteen. Like I said I didn't see the game. But Thnx.

they were up by 21, but the Cassell INT put them in danger of being up by "only" 14, according to Belicheat, so they put Brady back in to prevent that from happening

the difference between the 2 games was that the Pats were up by 21, so they called off the dogs, only to call them up again to ensure a victory, we were up by 7, but I think instead, we played it safe w/ Romo knowing that the Vikes weren't going to do much to take the game, I don't think we called off the dogs

Thnx Bob. I don't think we did either. I would like to have put more on the board.

I don't think we threw a pass after the long one to Harper.

I know we scored on a fumble return when Norton scored. Fatso almost scored another but moron Beebie ruined the day for Lett.

They just kept turning the ball over so we scored.

peplaw, my friend, you need to revert back once in awhile from the brainwashing that you got in Law School. Stop looking for things that are not there...this is not a Court of Law!

Learn to leave work at the office...and come down to life with the rest of us imbeciles...

I didn't say that we were perfect. But we certainly aren't less of a contender because we only beat the Vikings by a measly 10 points. You're putting way too much stock in one game.

it was good to see the gound game eat up the clock, however.

Especially against one of the best (if not the best) run defenses in the league.

No my friend you took it that way. Maybe I sounded that way, I don't know.
Hard to express emotions on a laptop.:D

My stance is we are not a championship team until we win it. We have no business letting up on any one. That was the original topic. I don't feel comfortable up by ten in a game where weird stuff is going on. Remember the Bills game? Their QB wasn't much better and we won with zero seconds on the clock.

I was not comfortable with this game until it was over!

Now, I can see why some might think they "called off the dogs", but I hope that was not the case, and that it was just a case of getting Romo though the game without further injury.

I have no doubt in my mind that had Romo not got his hammy all worked up (another stupid QB trying to take on a lineman/linebacker/who ever the hell it was), that they would have come our firing away just like they did in the first half.

Remember, it was said that this offense is going to attack, attack, and attack some more, just to let the opposing defense know that they are not going to "call off the dogs".

impossible, our Oline sucks! Roy Williams sucks! we suck! we can't put bad teams away early! BAH bring back Parcells, he would have ran more! instead of trying to exploit that piss-poor, Vike pass D

I knew we would win even when down 14-7. It was so obvious we were the vastly superior team it was pitiful.

Blasphemy!!! :D

Honestly I was never worried about losing this game, not for one second. And in the second half we played ball control and it killed the Vikings. "Calling off the dogs" was basically just calling off Romo, which we did.

We won, get over it. Seriously, we don't have to win by 30 every week. We are 6-1, enjoy the bye.

I don't like having a team hang around like the vikes did. That is when goofy things happen. It didn't we won.:D
