Fair points. I will say that attendance did decline in the early 2000's so fans have shown a willingness to take a stand, but you are right that Cowboys stadium will attract people for reasons outside of football. It will be interesting to see what happens.Really? Think people will stop buying tickets and merch?
Zordy, this forum is not a true reflection of the fandom, we are far more critical and care more here than the average fan. Going to a Cowboys game is an entertainment event as much as a football game and Booger had that in mind when they were designing the stadium. It is an entertainment venue that just happens to have a football field in the middle of it.
He knows he's beyond the fans and bulletproof and the Cowboys games are just one part of that venue's revenue stream.
And don't think people calling sports talk shows are the people that financially support the football team part of that venue. There is no owner of any sports franchise less dependent on the mood of his fans. We'd like to think fans matter but they do not. He will put his comfort level above that of any of the fans.
