When Moss plays in Texas Stadium.....history will show that NO TNew cannot cover him.....period
We will have to provide help

I'll take my chances with Newman.
Also Newman can get up. He can dunk a basketball so he can get up a ways.
Im sure Watkins can too but unless its a jump ball he'll probably get owned.

Daudr;1682817 said:They have two different styles. TO is a possession guy that uses his body to shield defenders. Moss is a speed guy who out leaps defenders to make the play. TO is great after the catch, Moss is great at making the catch. Moss is the reason that Daunte Culpepper ever looked good, because he would just chuck the ball into double coverage and Moss would go up and get it for him.

Maybe he can give Moss a hernia checkup, because it's unlikely that someone with such outrageously poor ball location skills will do anything to stop such a talented receiver.
We've seen Watkins play jump balls in the end zone. Or, I should say, we've seen Watkins stand helplessly by on jump balls in the end zone.
You put your corner on Moss in the end zone. Not some hapless safety, just because he's tall.

I am a little concerned about Newman on Lee Evans though. Evans is due for a big game.
i loved kevin smith, but there is no way Kevin was better than Newman, lol.nyc;1682712 said:While I like Newman and think he is great. He isn't as good as say Kevin Smith (shut Jerry Rice down in his prime) was back in the early 90s for the Cowboys. That said, there are times when I would leave him one on one with Moss.
nyc;1682806 said:LOL, no way would I want Watkins covering Moss one on one! :laugh2:
nyc;1682833 said:***? Who is hell would have a safety cover Moss one on one? I said, on a jump ball in the end zone, I would have Watkins playing safety. His height alone would help protect against jump balls. Did you see Moss' TD last night? That CB had no chance because it was a jump ball and Moss out jumped him and the CB had to know the ball was coming which cause him to delay his reaction. (jump late) If the CB is covering underneath and a safety is covering over the top, I want that safety to be Watkins because of his height and jumping ability to at least somewhat compete with Moss. Roy Williams and Ken Hamlin would get owned.

Watkins is probably a decent matchup with Moss...as far as physical tools anyways.
