Dallas has to get to Brady, there Oline has been playing lights out so far this season. If we can harass Brady and disrupt his timing we can win the game.

In that situation, your corner is going to be 1 on 1, every time, unless you line up your safety directly over Moss. In which case the middle is wide open.

In any case, you responded to my post about how foolish it would be to have Watkins covering Moss. If you agreed, then there was no need for your statement - you just misread.

Safety in a deep zone. That is how Watkins would be covering Moss on a jump ball in the end zone.

Dallas will not isolate Newman on Moss-- it won't happen. Dallas doesn't do that with their corners.

The Pats run a lot of timing routes just like the Cowboys. I think to some extent you have to be physical with Moss off the line.

New Englands seems to run a lot of spread formations. Dallas may want to open up with a 4-2-5. Get Ellis/Spencer/Ware on the field at the same time. I don't think NE's offensive line is as good as it has been in the past.

The safeties are going to need to supply some born jarring hits. If there is a game that Roy needs to be an intimidator it's this one.

Bingo. Give this man a cookie.

If you want to contain Moss, you jam him at the line and be physical with him, while providing safety help over the top. If there is one weakness of Moss, it's that he's not very physical.

Maybe there is some miscommunication. What exactly where you implying when you said "In that situation, your corner is going to be one on one every time"? We were talking about jump balls in the end zone. Why would your corner always be one on one when that happen? That is why I responded with safety in a deep zone. The corner could be playing man coverage and the receiver run deep into the safety zone. I would never want my corner in single coverage on a deep route facing Moss.

Maybe it would help if you went back and read the post early in the thread about having Watkins cover Moss in the red zone. That is what I was addressing, that is all I have been addressing. You continue to ramble on and on just to argue about something we (apparently) agree on and it's tiresome. Hence...

Moss always torches us, if shut every one else down we should be alright.
We have more weapons than they do on offense.

Well no matter what, Moss will get his catches and TDs. Like Steve Young said on ESPN last night, the only team that can beat the Patriots are the teams that can score with them. He mentioned Dallas and Indy. It's true I think.

Thats what they have to do with relentless pursuit. Did you guys see
how mad he was when he got knocked to the ground? He's like a boxer that knocks everybody out, until that one guy hits him in the mouth and he tastes his own blood. That hasn't been done this year, so far.

Moss is good for how many? 2-3 TD's against us.

We will have put TNew on Moss one on one... with a safety over the top once in a while. I say once in a while because I have seen Moss catch balls with 3 defenders circled around him and HE STILL catches the ball. So that safety help could be used elsewhere.

Gonna have to let him get his.... contain the rest of the team and our offense has to SCORE often. Send in the house probably more than we want. Even if Pats beat us on it.. we gotta get to Brady and bully him around.

I like what the Giants did to the Eagles. Moving your best pass rushers all over the place. Osi as the MLB, Osi as the tackle, Osi and the OLB, Osi as the DE. They were causing a lot of havoc. The only problem with doing that is that you expose other parts of the defense. Putting someone that isn't very big at tackle can make you road kill against the run. The Giants could do that because Westbrook was out.

I agree but I also expect to see Phillips give the Pats many different looks from zone blitzes to all out blitzes and both man and zone coverages. One thing about great QB's is you can't stay in 1 system all the time because they will figure you out. If we can keep Brady on his toes and stay in his face I think we have a good chance.

Yeah... I really think that is the only way. Otherwise Moss could ruin things for us.... especially if we see them in the SB.

60's - we didnt win anything
70's - we won
80's - we didnt win anything
90's - we won
00's - I hope that Romo and Cowboys dont give the same results as Danny White and Cowboys

See the pattern with every other decade. I hope we break that pattern.

Look at it this way. We won the following super bowls...
6
12
27-28
30

One or more in each of the decades of the Super Bowl except for the 40s and we will get that this year.

Newmans better than Kevin Smith.

Newmans been shutting down the leagues best receivers week in week out with basically no pass rush for years.

Kevin Smith shut down Jerry Rice in his prime consistently, playing man-on-man all day long...

Moss ability to go up and catch the ball at its highest point as well as his speed makes him very difficult. Now add the accuracy of Brady to place the ball where only Moss has a chance well you better have some help over the top or it will be a long day.

Moss doesn't go over the middle and shies away from contact. Plus, Brady has been getting all day to pass from the pocket... He has seen very little pressure, so it gives plenty of time for Moss to run downfield...

the plays Moss scores on, I see him wide-open, except for the TD last night, where he just out-leaped the defender...
