Yeah, all his TDs were in triple coverage, double coverage, and what not.. he must be Superman...

Jets are 28th in team defense, Cincinatti is 30th. San Diego is 25th... Buffalo Bills are a whopping 32nd...

yes, Brady has had all day to throw, and Moss is catching wide open balls... that doesn't mean Moss isn't good, but this year, he hasn't even been challenged, and Brady has been getting all day to throw...

Moss has a tendency to do that and I can not figure out what its going to take for Randy Moss to earn Cowboys fans respect. We of all fans should know better than to doubt Moss.... EVER....

When Moss turns it on its over for any DB, coverage scheme, or any other kind of genius scheme anyone wants to come up with.

Hes just that good.

Put it this way:

Kevin Smith was DRAFTED in 1992, and was covering the greatest receiver of all time in his PRIME, and shut him down in the NFC championship game... Jerry was playing in the eptiome of the West Coast offense.. he didn't just run deep routes... he ran everywhere, including plenty of quick slants, which should have upped his numbers... Rice had one catch that day if I remember correctly

I don't care who you are, and what type of line you have up front. That is a BEAST, if there ever was one...

BTW, Dallas rotation usually wore teams out. It was in the late games that the constant subbing wore opposing teams down. Kevin Smith was lock-down in-between the whistles...

At the end of Super Bowl 27 during the interviews someone asked Ken Norton why not a single member of the defense had not been selected for the probowl. His answer was, "We may not have any pro bowlers but we have 11 Super Bowlers." In other words he, like many of us Cowboy fans, knew the defense had been shafted to some extent by the pro bowl selection process.

You're embarrassing yourself now. You obviously have little or no recollection of that period of Cowboy's history. Please feel free to slink away quietly from this argument and we won't think any less of you.

Yes, I remember Norton's comments. I also remember Chris Doleman, Reggie White, Clyde Simmons, Rickey Jackson, Wilber Marshall, Mike Singletary, Jessie Tuggle, Pat Swilling, Sam Mills, and Deion Sanders. Do you truly believe Ken Norton Jr. should have been in the NFC Pro Bowl over Sam Mills or Mike Singletary? How about Tolbert over Reggie White, Clyde Simmons, or even Chris Doleman?

I remember just fine. It's you who doesn't remember very well. Tolbert couldn't dream of filling the shoes of Reggie White or Clyde Simmons and the same can be said for Ken Norton compared to Sam Mills or the legendary Mike Singletary.

The Cowboys defense played the best defense as a unit without an army of the best players in the league. Their two best players on defense were Charles Haley and Kevin Smith PERIOD.

I agree... If it weren't for the achilles injury, Kevin would have been one of the greatest CBs to play the game...

Even when he returned, they targetted him for crappy PI calls, that were plain bogus...

Charles Haley for sure. Kevin was good. I'm a big Kevin Smith fan. I remember when he was drafted, the Cowboys were looking at Terrell Buckley too (I think that's his name, the Florida St CB). He ended up going to Green Bay. I remember when Kevin did his draft conference, he said he's so glad he's here instead of GB b/c he doesn't want to drive to work in a snowmobile. That being said, I think Newman is a little better then Kevin.

I think Leon Lett has to be mentioned up there. Even with his bloopers, he was a very good DT.

In 1992 Dallas had 43 sacks... in 2006 the Cowboys had 34 sacks...

Now, please tell us what school system you attended where they taught that "34" was > or = to "43"?

No, but Jim Jeffcoat and Jimmie Jones where NOT dominating players like the ones who WENT to the Pro Bowl. They were good players only. Only bias Cowboy fans believe they were greater than what they actually were.

I think Roy needs to horse collar Moss on the first play of the game. Then we will be fine. :D

Moss can be taken out of the game. The only question is what you are willing to give up on to do it.

In the St. Louis game, it was obvious the Rams made a conscious decision to take Owens out of the game. That left Crayton one on one, and we know how that turned out. We have done this to other WRs. We did it to Steve Smith last time we played Carolina

We can take Moss out of the game, but at what cost? Brady spreads the ball around more than any QB in the league. If we shut down Moss, he still has Ben Watson, Wes Welker, Donte Stallworth, and his running backs out in the pattern. It might be worth freeing those guys up to shut down Moss. Moss always chews the Cowboys up. We might consider shutting him down at the risk of big games for the others.

And what in the name of God does that have to do with the pass rush Newman has had to work with during for the first four years of his career as compared to what "Pup" Smith did?

I thought so... absolutely nothing.

Anyone want to see Bradie James covering a guy as fast as Watson? :(

Carp may not be a bruising physical player (yet! *crosses fingers*) but he covers pretty well in the passing game. I'd feel better having he or Burnett covering Watson.

While I like Newman and think he is great. He isn't as good as say Kevin Smith (shut Jerry Rice down in his prime) was back in the early 90s for the Cowboys. That said, there are times when I would leave him one on one with Moss.

Nobody shut down Jerry Rice in his prime. Nobody.

I actually agree with a Commander fan. It was more like Kevin Smith contained Jerry Rice.
