Yeah, I wish that Tom Brady would stop posing for GQ, dating Gisele, and spending all his time in New York City. Clearly it has taken away from his ability to win.

I think the comment is a bit sophmoric and generalized. Not trying to be rude but if Tom Brady posed for GQ, put out a tape featuring him and Gisele and stayed in New York partying until Super Bowl eve and then they went on to lose, you are damn skippy that those would be the reports.

It isn't what Romo does, it is the timing in which he does it that brings scruitiny. And whether it is justified or not, he knows he and his team will get it. If I hear word at the Thanksgiving Day game that he is now with Britany Spears... I am done with football for the rest of the season ;P

Hostile, I think you are being a little bit too concerned with his psych.

If he is more circumspect about his private life and doesn't joke about it flippantly as he might have earlier, if could be that earlier he only had to consider his own feelings in responding. When whatever is said may impact the feelings of someone else close, it could cause him to be more reserved, or even curt if the possible hurt to the other might be deep.

I expect jumping in the golf cart to get away from a question about his singing was not so much being evasive as as it was humorously sticking it to a reporter he is on good terms with.

:)
Some players have off season surgeries. If Tony needs off season surgery it would be to remove the stick.

When he is loose and witty, the guy is the most captivating player in the NFL. Surly does not work for him. At the country music awards when Carrie handed him her purse and the press commented his response was classic. "That was my job." All with a great big smile like he was telling the media "so the hell what?'

If he allows himself to relax again I think it would make him improve a lot more. Not a little bit. A lot. He plays best when loose and free.

Sex with a big breasted blonde isn't healthy?

Dang it, now I suddenly feel all sick.

Maybe everyone is picking at Tony a little to much because all of these complaints people have about him off the field have never really effected him on te field.

IMHO, he has all the tools he needs. The defining factor will be his decision making over the next several years.

I don't think that will ever improve, he's a gunslinger, and Packer fans had to live w/ that w/ Favre for years and years

I think we will have to w/ Romo as well

It is the off season. Perhaps he is just looser during the season when he is in a routine of practicing and playing football. The off season can be monotonous especially when the media is hounding your every move. We will see how he acts once training camp starts if he has changed from his loose and free attitude.

By some. Danny White career despite putting up some very good numbers by some is looked at as a failure. Myself I think teams win championships not QB's alone but there is no doubt without a SB he will not be looked at by many as a successful QB. For some greatness of a QB is measured by the rings he has I don't agree with it but that is what I hear from many

Unfortunately, this is a fact. Or it was what I was told growing up. I spent my time defending White, but he had no rings and I never heard the end of it.

Romo has began his career strong giving us all dreams of multiple Super Bowl appearances, just like the expectations where in the first few years with White. The '80-'83 Cowboys had the talent to reach and win Super Bowls, just like I believe the team does now. In Danny's case, many factors played a role in preventing him from winning a title. Some he could control some not. I hope for Tony's sake, and ours, that thing workout better. I personally think they will. :starspin

I don't think he changed from his first start through the end of the season and on to the off season last year. I also think he was the same right up to the philly game when a bunch of idiots pinned his bad day on his girl. The change was noticable after the Yoko Romo stuff. Suddenly he clammed up and he hasn't really been loose since then.

I don't know if the scrutiny is affecting his play or not. But as soon as the media felt he was tightening up they jumped on him like a thirsty man on cold water. Whereas before they were searching for good Tony sound bites, now they are searching for Tony slip ups to blow out of proportion.

It is why I do not respond in the paparazzi threads about him and Jessica. I flat out do not care. I just want him to loosen up and relax.

I agree, but we both know that that can be a tough task. He is the QB for the Dallas Cowboys. That is one of the most pressure packed positions in all of sports. It would be difficult for anyone to stay loose and relaxed in that position. It was probably even hard for Roger Staubach to do it.

He has the perfect temperment to do it. Just make fun of everyone who is trying to pry into his life.

Tony said himself at a recent golf outing that he's working on a few things this offseason that he's interested in seeing translate into his play on the field. I never saw it covered in another thread, but did we spend time speculating on what those things might be already?
Getting rid of the J word would be the first one, finding someone to support his career and keep him grounded would be two, and losing all the pizza and beer weight he gained would be three.

That is what I kept wondering all last Dec. Did no one around him notice, or care, or were brave enough to just say "Tony where is the smile?" He looked so lost and cast off and not talking to the press, I'm glad to see that someone else noticed this too. I couldn't believe Jessica had that much to do with it, but I did feel it was something in his personal life. Another girl somewhere, or his Dad's illness' I just hope he has found all his answers and shows up this year with a happy attitude. I love the way he just says "I don't talk about my personal life" right up front. Maybe the press will learn to leave that alone and we will see a smile back.
Yes! give us the "smiling assassin"

Im sure that it has been mentioned but ball security/awareness has got to be worked on. If he can cut back a few fumbles and work on the INTs a little, it would be huge for the team.
