Can we talk about Chris Collinsworth?

Nah. He’s definitely anti Cowboys. Even yesterday it was about how bad the Giants were playing not that they were dominated by a better team. It is what it is.
Anyone that refuses to acknowledge the palpable bias, his previous prediction for the gmen, are frankly refusing to see the obvious. Cosell was a master of drumming up things for whomever was winning. He was not biased but switched his enthusiasm based on the play and score. It was annoying.

What a great win last night. I loved every second of it. With that being said. Can we discuss how Collinsworth gets away with blatantly disrespecting the Cowboys every time he comments on their games?

If I have to hear about the OBJ catch one more time I may lose my mind. It was years ago and they lost that game. With that said all he kept saying pre game and during the game is how good the Giants were. At one point he said the Giants added a bunch of new weapons for Daniel Jones and that they would be the fastest team on the field. Maybe I am overreacting but its been years of this and I am honestly at the point where I may watch the games on mute when he is in the booth.

Anyways. Rant over. Go Cowboys!
You’re overreacting, which is typical of fans on this board. I don’t see how bringing up OBJ’s catch is disrespecting the Cowboys, It’s going to come up occasionally any time the Cowboys play the Giants. I’ve never seen a better catch and besides the Cowboys won that game. Some of you get way too caught up with the announcers. Collinsworth made a lot of favorable comments about the Cowboys during the game. He kept mentioning what a beat down we were giving the Giants. I have no issue with Collinsworth, I think he’s very objective.

Disrespect?

He was singing our praises on defense all night. Honestly, hes one of the best out there
There was a small documentary a few years ago on how he works, and he's absolutely a workaholic and dedicated to commentating. He loves his job and loves football. He's also a color commentator, so of course he's going to be a little more animated at times. It's similar to the hate Joe Buck gets - Joe Buck is consistently ranked as the highest or near the highest play-by-play guy with the least amount of mistakes every season. He's great at his job. Both of them are.

There have been some absolutely terrible commentators in the past - anyone remember Dennis Miller when he tried out commentating for a second? How about Jason Witten?

He is incredibly biased and just watch him when dallas is brought up in other games. If he is so perspicacious how did he predict a clear dallas win days earlier? It is bias. Almost like the pre show predictions on fox always seem to be team affiliation aligned not objectively. I guarantee Michael Strahan predicted a gmen win. It is not objective. Having former players as commentators is not always good because often it is not objective. I think Aikman may be an exception in reserving bias.

You need to listen to him. Thursday he predicted a giants win. On sunday he is effusive about dallas. Why? Because they are good. But he had no choice. He also was going on about how terrible the loss was vs. how great the dallas win was. He really hates dallas.
most former players hate dallas, because when they played, its just like today, Dallas gets all the headlines. Look at Steve Young.. he was complaining about the Lance trade... he says the Niners should NEVER trade with dallas... period.

He's gotta create some hype for the under dogs to keep viewers tuned in.

And it being week 1 he can make anything up pretty much.

Miller was never supposed to be a football guy. He was supposed to try to do what the Manning's have done and be the opposite of a normal commentator. I personally LOVE the Manning's broadcast and will watch it every time they do it. It adds some real information on what a QB looks at, and they kill it every week with their humor... JMO.

I don't think he does. He makes money off the NFL from broadcasting & other interests so I'm guessing he really loves them all. Playing days are long behind him. Any old feelings are long gone.
And he played in Cincy...not exactly one of our hated rivals.

What possible reason would Collinsworth have for hating the Cowboys? He was an Ohio guy before football and during football and has been out of the league for decades now. What exactly could the Cowboys have done to him for him to hate them? You would think he'd have more issues with the 49ers.

really? Steve Young hasnt played in 20 years and his hatred for Dallas still runs deep in his veins. He even admitted it when the Lance trade went down. He blasted the niners saying they should NEVER trade with Dallas.

Two options for future Cowboys games on Sunday night:
1) Mute NBC telecast -tune into Westwood One Sports
2) Mute NBC telecast -tune into KRLD 105.3 FM The Fan - the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network flagship station, or the affliate station in your city /area that carries the games

These guys have to talk for more than 3 hours about the game. Of course they sometimes say dumb stuff once in a while. They can't please everyone for all that time. I thought he was okay for most of the game. Maybe a couple of "duh!" moments.

I think "The Moose" is a really good commentator.

We should really be talking about the terrible halftime crew with Garrett trying to sound charismatic, and that woman who needs to drop 20 lbs and stop wearing those homemade rompers or whatever those outfits are.
I think she's pregnant isn't she?

He's like any other announcer. When the Cowboys are winning, he is insightful. When the Cowboys are losing, he sucks.

I'm beginning to think that it might have something to do with me.
