Can we talk about Chris Collinsworth?

really? Steve Young hasnt played in 20 years and his hatred for Dallas still runs deep in his veins. He even admitted it when the Lance trade went down. He blasted the niners saying they should NEVER trade with Dallas.
True, I don't think Young is fond of the organization. But his reason for disliking the trade was because of past experience with Hailey trade that he felt cost them Super Bowls.

LOL.

Collinsworth was very effusive about the Cowboys last night. He was drooling all over the defense, for example. Some of you guys really live in this Cowboys bubble. I thought Collinsworth did a really nice job last night. He can't kiss the butt of the Cowboys the entire game. He's gotta say some good things about the opponent too.

Oh and his comment about fastest team, he said the Giants THOUGHT they would be the fastest team on the field. That their offseason goal was to get faster.
He was even talking up Dak who did not look good at all (willing to give him a pass due to the weather). TE's also had butterfingers.

What a great win last night. I loved every second of it. With that being said. Can we discuss how Collinsworth gets away with blatantly disrespecting the Cowboys every time he comments on their games?

If I have to hear about the OBJ catch one more time I may lose my mind. It was years ago and they lost that game. With that said all he kept saying pre game and during the game is how good the Giants were. At one point he said the Giants added a bunch of new weapons for Daniel Jones and that they would be the fastest team on the field. Maybe I am overreacting but its been years of this and I am honestly at the point where I may watch the games on mute when he is in the booth.

Anyways. Rant over. Go Cowboys!
I hate the OBJ thing. But in the announcer's defence they had a nightmare scenario. The game was over before the end of the first half, and they had to keep the viewers.

One thing we don't see that they do...all the fans leaving the stadium. Once that happens the producers start to panic and they send reminding signals to the booth to keep the fans engaged. Especially the losing team's fans or that impacts their ratings.

In a blowout I don't hate on announcers and their dialogue. In a close game I look to see how balanced commentary is. Which is why I dislike Joe Buck.

HIs imbalanced calling is so subtle, but insidious. Obvious Cowboys hater, and unprofessional in my opinion. It wouldn't surprise me if he calls Patriot games that he will start using promotional superlatives in describing Zeke's runs in NE when he couldn't add any flavour or positivity to Zeke's work when he was in Dallas.

Yup agreed. Starting out, it came off as if we had no chance in his eyes. I actually said to my wife "why won't this guy get the giant's acorns out of his mouth?" in the early part of the game. Once we started dominating, he shifted right over to our side.

Disrespect?

He was singing our praises on defense all night. Honestly, hes one of the best out there
I don't get the Collingsworth hate. I actually learn a lot about the game from him. I think Romo is the best at analyzing plays. Anyone see the Eagles game where Romo talked about the genius of Bellicheck defensively and how he noticed coverages that game that he's never seen before and he usually can call everything even before the play starts. I like them 2 the most

Collinsworth is perhaps my favorite color man going. I like Romo, but someone has changed his game as an announcer.

Collinsworth is complimentary for both sides. Maybe not during the same game. But he said somethings about Dallas that he did not last year when the Cowboys were losing a game he called.

This is personal taste, and no one is wrong about Chris Collinsworth.

I find Greg Olsen to be the worst going right now.

Steve Young had a rivalry with Dallas. Collinsworth wasn't even in the same conference.

Which would seem to indicate a lack of bias, and just a misguided pregame opinion.

Not a Collingsworth apologist, but when did he disrespect the Cowboys last night?

In fact I remember at least two times he called them as perhaps the NFC's best team right now with San Francisco.

He did not disrespect them. He does not post signs about his subjective bias. No one does. He predicted dallas would lose on a previous show As he always does. If you follow him carefully, he hates dallas and only gushed about the D because he had no choice. He was not gushing about it a few days earlier and said gmen would win. But he does not like dallas. It is evident without signage.

I didn’t get this impression at all….he called us real contenders and extremely talented several times.
See my other response. He was not calling us contenders heretofore. Why would he believe the gmen would win. If he is that clueless until the blowout happens is his opinion worth anything. Jumping on the bandwagon is great but that is his modus operandi. He has no other choice. He is rarely perspicacious when it involves dallas. Why is that???

People always complained about Collinsworth and I never understood it, until last night. He was just talking complete BS and nonsense! I don't think he did much prep for the year. Clearly.

Anyone that picked the gmen to win is clueless. But it is knee jerk for him to believe most any team will beat dallas. It is palpable in most cases. Jumping on the bandwagon is no proof he as any affinity for dallas. He does not.
