Can we talk about Chris Collinsworth?

The only thing he said that I even paid attention to was when he mentioned that he had played in the NFL. I know it. I saw him back in the day. But it just doesn't seem possible. That's a reflection on me, not him.

I hate the OBJ thing. But in the announcer's defence they had a nightmare scenario. The game was over before the end of the first half, and they had to keep the viewers.

One thing we don't see that they do...all the fans leaving the stadium. Once that happens the producers start to panic and they send reminding signals to the booth to keep the fans engaged. Especially the losing team's fans or that impacts their ratings.

In a blowout I don't hate on announcers and their dialogue. In a close game I look to see how balanced commentary is. Which is why I dislike Joe Buck.

HIs imbalanced calling is so subtle, but insidious. Obvious Cowboys hater, and unprofessional in my opinion. It wouldn't surprise me if he calls Patriot games that he will start using promotional superlatives in describing Zeke's runs in NE when he couldn't add any flavour or positivity to Zeke's work when he was in Dallas.
Of course it is subtle, he is not going to have placards.

What a great win last night. I loved every second of it. With that being said. Can we discuss how Collinsworth gets away with blatantly disrespecting the Cowboys every time he comments on their games?

If I have to hear about the OBJ catch one more time I may lose my mind. It was years ago and they lost that game. With that said all he kept saying pre game and during the game is how good the Giants were. At one point he said the Giants added a bunch of new weapons for Daniel Jones and that they would be the fastest team on the field. Maybe I am overreacting but its been years of this and I am honestly at the point where I may watch the games on mute when he is in the booth.

Anyways. Rant over. Go Cowboys!

Yeah he was talking about how we'd match up to all the speed they added and bla bla bla. Like I said before the game, they have 2 established weapons and no wrs. Way too many people were over the top with how good the Giants are. It was very satisfying squashing that nonsense

If you have a dvr/pvr you might see if you can sync up the radio of Sham & Laufenberg. It won't work if the radio is ahead of the tv. KBST is the station on the internet you might try.
I never got the love for Sham. He's terrible. A true play by play radio guy should let you know what exactly is going on and reset the situation since our eyes aren't on the screen. That guy is your eyes and he does a very bad job.

Didn't you predict Dak throwing multiple interceptions?
Wow….yes i did. A number of reasons for not being the case. First, they did not need to pass or go downfield due to blowout. 2. Dak did not even play most of fourth quarter and 3. i did predict 3 pics for Jones, there were 2 and 4. Did you see his completion rate? even dallas could not catch their own balls. But if anyone else believes that the pics are not coming when he had 15 in 12 games last year, they are coming. I would be shocked if there is not at least a single pick in the jets game.

EVERY fan base thinks Chris Collinsworth hates their team the most, and always "roots" for the other team.

He just has a dry sense of humor and mannerisms.

He is pretty even....except when Tom Brady was playing.

LOL.

Collinsworth was very effusive about the Cowboys last night. He was drooling all over the defense, for example. Some of you guys really live in this Cowboys bubble. I thought Collinsworth did a really nice job last night. He can't kiss the butt of the Cowboys the entire game. He's gotta say some good things about the opponent too.

Oh and his comment about fastest team, he said the Giants THOUGHT they would be the fastest team on the field. That their offseason goal was to get faster.
I'm with you.

If you watched him on Thursday night, he pointed out early in the Chiefs vs Lions contest that the Chiefs picking a fight with a feisty Lion's team would wake them up. And it did.

Collingsworth is not shooting from the hip. He does his homework and the literal freaking owner of Pro Football Focus. So he is armed with analytics to back up his conclusions. BTW, I remember when he played and he was a legit WR on good team.

No one is perfect, but I'm happy to get Al and Chris on a call.

It is not imaginary and would not be saying it if it were not true. I don't believe that about any other announcer. He predicted a gmen win against reason and fact. What does that tell you. His disappointment is palpable when the boys start rolling and notice his statements about how awful the giants loss is. He is saying he is devastated his predicted team is losing and losing bad because he looks like a fool for believing the gmen were better than the boys.

Then what prey tell would have made him predict a gmen win? What other than hatred for the boys? He does it all the time.

Collins has to " sell" the game.
He has to do what he can to bring and keep viewers interested and watching the game between the two teams.

And he cannot be rah-rah bias towards one team.

He has to present a scenario where a struggling team can make adjustments to get back into the game,
and have a chance to actually comeback and win the game.

For some, I think this could be where at least part of the Collinsworth hate comes from. A lot of people cannot stand PFF

I can generally tell the approximate age and/or media savviness (or the lack thereof) of a poster based on his incessant whining over which commentators hate the Cowboys.

Commentators are like any other person who works in media for a living, i.e., the more people who watch you, the longer and more profitable your career.

Cris Colliinsworth doesn't hate the Cowboys. He just finish saying if NBC had its choice, it would broadcast the Cowboys every Sunday night. Collinsworth - like every other football analyst and commentator - knows that their media operations prosper when they make the Cowboys relevant - whether in drumming up hate or fanning the flames of Cowboys love.

Stephen A. Smith doesn't hate the Cowboys. He understands that his Cowboy-hate shtick brings in ratings, so he and ESPN have hooked their wagons to the Cowboys so fans and haters will tune in to agree with him or heap scorn on him.

Yet, many of our fans buy into this shtick because they're naïve.

People make bold predictions every week for many reasons.

How about actually explaining why Cris would have any hatred for the Cowboys? He was born in Ohio, moved to Florida when he was still young, played at Florida during his college career, went back to Ohio for his pro career and been in broadcasting for 33 years. What in the hell would make him hate the Cowboys at any point in his career?
