Carr takes paycut

Our pass rush makes any DB look average. Not saying Carr is a shutdown corner. But he gets a bad rap because of the salary.

By listening to those closest to the organization and what is being discussed by them. His antics were too much and regardless of the suspensions they don't want him back. Never said I talk to Jerry personally but certain people do and they have reported on it.

as reported in several articles

In my opinion, what the savings does do is two-fold. Yes, it can be pushed forward to next year for contracts - see O-linemen. Or gives us some more flexibility come June 1st. cuts if we still need to sign a DE or something for depth.
Its not a bad thing.

This was the only reason....

Jesus people forget we play under a salary cap so every dollar needs to be maximized or in this case every million...

That money we cut in half could be used to bring in another quality defensive personal body

Hell is a wuss. Colder damnit. Now!

Dude, he is dead.

Yeah, he's dead too.

So is he but he made your sig:

About $5.9 million too much, but I'll take it.

Base is $4.25 million with ability to be 6 million according to Archer.

Brandon Carr's new base salary is $4.25 million, according to sources. He can earn up to $6 million total.

Carr's new base salary will be $4.25 million, the sources said. He will receive a $1 million roster bonus on May 1 and can earn up to $250,000 per game in roster bonuses. He can also earn an extra $500,000 in incentives.

Say what you want about Carr, but this dude is nothing but all class, and it's never been his fault he wasn't a 50 million dollar CB.

I've liked him for years and LOVE the fact that he never gets hurt. Now we don't have to reach for DB's!!!

I don't think taking Ramsey at 4 would be reaching.

This has no bearing on what we do in the draft.

So many on here have been pretty nasty when talking about Carr. But he's always been a stand up guy. People tend to dehumanize players/coaches/celebrities.

Carr at this new number is certainly more tolerable.

But you have to chuckle that you've heard that the Cowboys were looking to upgrade the secondary this offseason and heading into the draft we just brought back the exact same secondary.

LOL.

People can separate the player and the human. Carr is a very good guy who does a lot off the field to help people.

Doesn't change the fact that he's a mediocre CB. The fact he does a lot to help people off the field doesn't change the fact he's average on the field.

I wasn't referring to the 1st round, because if we're going to reach it's going to be Bosa IMO, and that might not even be reaching. I'm talking about feeling like we have to take a corner, although I think we've taken at least 1 or 2 for like 10 consecutive years and a handful have actually worked out!

And yet we heard more about backup QB and that's working out so well isn't it??

We have to take a CB in this draft anyway, regardless of whether Carr or Claiborne is still here.

It's been an offseason of "wait, wut?"

My point is now it appears we are bringing back Moore as the backup QB, while all offseason that was the #1 priority according to Jerry and Steve was backup QB.

From Carr all the way to Heath.......that's unpossible

I know. Upgrade backup QB. Whoops, apparently Moore was our guy all along. Fix the pass rush. Whoops, we can't even sign James Jones. Upgrade secondary. Bring back everyone from last year's team.

That's both funny and sad.

So basically the same secondary with Scandrick back and maybe a rookie or two. Seems like a smart plan if you had only upgraded the pass rush.

Oh, whoops.
