Ultimately, the Eagles did it way better than the Rams did it. They will be judged on how they are able to a) finish this season. Super Bowl W and they were absolutely correct. Loss and then go lose a bunch of key players because they can't afford them....nice try but fail.

No one could have predicted they would have a golden ticket into the super bowl like they got. I doubt anyone would argue that if we faced the DJ and Practice Squad weapons of the Gmen at home we would win that game and if we then were to face the literally unable to throw 49ers...we would have won that game too.

Kudos for them but it really comes down the the Super Bowl and what happens this offseason as to whether they are right or not.
We lost to Wash practice squad.

Almost lost to Titans Practice squad.

Almost lost to tanking Texans.

Bottom line: they didn't "get a golden ticket" against the 49ers any more than we did.

They faced the same team that beat us and sent us home.

The only difference, is we let Purdy have a nice comfortable afternoon, and didn't even get his jersey dirty. THEY pounded him into the ground and gave him a one way ticket to the operating table, and perhaps affected his whole career. Then they knocked the b/u QB out of the game too!

They didn't "get a golden ticket"....they made their own dam golden ticket, by obsolutely physically dominating the team that beat us 7 days before.

The 9ers were consistently the #1 team in all power rankings the last month of season (after Hurts got hurt), and the Eagles just beat their azz publicly and put their QB in the hospital. We didn't. That's why they're in the SuperBowl, and we aren't. They were the #1 seed because they were the best team all year. We were the number 6 team because we weren't the best team.

Jerry is dumb when it comes 2 football and what it takes these days. Clueless. Whats worse, the mouthpieces that stick up for him will never call him out.

And = the poster was acting like the Eagles were the only team that played a game against another team's backups.

We played against several teams who were throwing scrubs out there, while WE were at full strength. We even lost one LOL. At least THEY beat all their backup opponents, even if they didn't play perfectly.

The poster was acting like they played against a bunch of JV squads, and we were playing the '85 Bears every week.

It's an excuse. They didn't luck into anything. WE weren't cheated out of anything. We....weren't....good....enough.

The excuses from the fans, the team, the owner...are lame. BUT, if everyone wants to keep playing the victim card, we can sit around for another 27 years being the Charlie Brown team of the NFL, complaining that we're good as anyone else, just unlucky.

Well Uncle Jed didn’t lie, 28 years and counting is the long term approach.

I like the reference but a local sports journalist in the early days coined the nickname Jethro which is in reference to Beverly Hillbilly Jethro Bodine who was Jed Clampetts nephew that was a blithering idiot always trying his luck in different business ventures.

And most Cowboy fans I know here locally still call him Jethro .

Equally accurate. But to me he’s Jed. An old man who lucked into oil that made him incredibly rich, but not sophisticated.

And as ‘dumb’ as I think Jerry might be, I think Cap Boy is worse. Stephen brings nothing to the table and wouldn’t have a job if not for nepotism. He’s Jethro in my book.

That sounds about right. Stephen is an international playboy like Jethro. He is good with numbers too like Jethro. Nought goes into nought, nought times.

Understood but it was Jethro who was always trying new business ventures. And he fit the younger Jerry in those early years as a bumbling idiot coming from the hills in Arkansas.

The nickname stuck here in Dallas. We’ve been using it for over 30 years . Using Jed is a reference to Beverly Hillbillies which is fine but it loses some of the initial punch that was intended when the original nickname Jethro was coined.

Uncle Jed was actually usually the only sound mind in the bunch which speaks volumes to how idiotic they were. . Lol

They were already basically proven right. They made two SBs 5 years apart in which they tore down basically the 2017 team and rebuilt quickly and still have a lot of draft fire power over the next two years. The whining over who they played is weird because they rebuilt a roster strong enough to go out there and win more games than anyone and get themselves that #1 seed and easier path to the SB. They were better than us and everyone else in the NFC over the full season. Their reward was an easier path than other teams. Maybe if Jerry and his dopey son employed some of the stuff the Eagles do in roster building, we would have won the #1 seed and had that easy path.

You really struggle with admitting reality here. They have done a significant better job at roster building/management than we have over the last 5-6 seasons.
Yea I don’t get how anyone can try to make an argument, just look at the results for god sakes. Forget the last five years take the last 20. Eagles front office in’s circles around the Jones boys. It sucks to admit they are just a better organization and have been for a while. Jones boys effect.

What make this even more embarrassing is while the Eagles prepare for another Super Bowl, the idiot GM/Owner is bragging about beating a 45 year old Brady in the wild card game. Yea Jerrah, tell us again how the Eagles are doing it all wrong why you have it right.

The Cowboys this era are walk on undrafted and 4th round wonder QB’s away from being a bottom tier feeder throughout.

It’s why Jethro and Son are so attached to their less than Elite QB’s. They know without them they’d have guys like Lynch, Manziel and Quincy. Lol

Very funny.

Unfortunately I can’t take credit for the coined nickname Jethro . It’s been so long I can’t even remember which journalist coined the name. But it was like in the very early days right after he was named owner and fired Landry. I wanna say Randy Galloway but can’t be absolutely certain.

Previous teams that tried to buy one failed with the Eagles being one of those teams with Roseman in the wings at that time after being demoted for Chip Kelly's Dream Team. He learned what not to do.

They learned too many changes can be disruptive but just the right tweaking can produce great results.

And using the Rams as an example to not do it ignores injuries were the problem for them.

As for the Eagles, jury is out on them for 2023.
