No mental Gymnastics at all ....... I think we have the talent and our coaches do not know what to do with it on D.

This team has shown it knows how to run the ball with scrubs ....... I want to see what happens when we have a star there.

Ya, for 3 TD's last year.

This is some great mental gymnastics to get to the "draft Zeke" point of view.

Our defense is bad. So let's invest in offense.

Or we are 3 or 4 years away from a good defense.

Our defense was middle of the pack last year in both points and yards when they had O that did absolutely nothing and where put in a lot of bad positions.

This defense is two players away from being a top 10 or higher defense, a play maker in the secondary and D lineman that can bring pressure.

Heck just having any kind of Offense will help move their ranking up.

We talk about this D like they are scrubs.

No team could stock Rodgers that year. GB averaged like 40+ points per game. Our offense wasn't anything special in the GB game and made mistakes too. It was a team loss.. not all on defense.

Except when we played Rodgers he had one leg.

Sure if you don't know what you're talking about. Or the relative value of positions. Or never took an economics course on opportunity cost. Or never took a statistics course on probability.

What was the probability that there were 6 Pro Bowl corners this year that were drafted in the 5th round or later?

What about the fact that half of the Pro Bowl running backs were first round picks?

But sure, go ahead an not draft an elite prospect just because he's a running back.

Yet thats your excuse for not taking a running back high in the draft.

all I know is that 8 years ago we took Mike Jenkins who was gonna be the next Deion Sanders
4 years ago we took Morris Claiborne who was gonna be the next Deion Sanders.
last year we took Byron Jones who was gonna be the next Deion Sanders.

I want to take the chance to draft the next Emmitt Smith ...... lol

Actually that's not my excuse at all.

My excuse for not drafting a TB at 4 is because I believe this team has invested enough in its OL that they can get elite production from a wider pool of TB candidates than having to invest in an elite one in the Top 5. I've probably said that about 500 times on this board.

Well Murray is no bum at all. Murray is a very good RB and we were lucky to get him in the 3rd round. Just because we did well with a rb we got in the 3rd round doesn't mean we can always find one in the 3rd or 4th round like that. If that were the case we could find Tom Brady in the 6th round of drafts, so why waste pick in the first round on a QB? I think Zeke will end up being a better RB than Murray. When you have an offensive line like we have, you don't say.. "Well anyone can run behind here" you say "How can we get the max benefit out of this line that we worked so hard to build?"

What is our offense really going to do with an average RB back there? Are teams going to have to stack the box to stop us? Are we going to have long sustaining drives that end up in points and eat up TOP and keep the defense fresh? Jalen isn't going to be able to do much to help us now with a pathetic d line. Zeke on the other hand could make us extremely tough to stop on offense and keep our defense fresh at the same time.

It comes down to do you want to win now or win later? Pick Zeke if you want to win now and pick Jalen if you want to win down the road.

In the end, Murray was a 3rd round pick though. He just was.

So if teams stacked the line against us and our 3rd round TB in 2014, I see no reason to believe that can't happen again if the Cowboys properly scout and find the right TB in this third round or fourth round.

I also reject the notion that if you take Ramsey or even trade the pick and pass up on Elliott you are also passing up on winning now. That's insane.

Just look at the top RBs in the league and where they were drafted.

Then look at how many have had major injuries or missed significant time throughout their careers.

Drafting a RB high is horrible value.

I'm fine with Zeke but I don't think he is so good that we lose the dynamic corner.

Would you say the same thing to Steve Jobs? "Hey Steve, I think you've invested enough in the iPod. You already have good production from it. You don't need to improve on it and make the iPhone. Go ahead and focus on other areas."

No way, a corner is going to have the most impact on a team, it is Elliot by far and it isn't even close.

All the Zeke 2 weeks Pre-Draft plus the Wentz Post Collegiate career hyperbowl, is a special and sad kind of stupid.

This seems like it should be very low on the list of things to worry about from a team's perspective. Scumbag relatives coming after you for money.

There was that and his teammate basically ratting him out as a partier that just didn't get caught.

Just received a text from my bay area sportswriter friend:

"SD is pulling the trigger on Buckner. Ramsey a lock to Dallas."

Ummmmm................

Counting replacements, there were 8 TBs invited to the Pro Bowl. As you said half were 1st round picks - Stewart, Gurley, Peterson, Martin. The other four were McCoy (2nd round), Freeman (4th round), Ivory (UDFA) and Murray (6th round). 50%.

Counting replacements, there were 12 CBs invited to the Pro Bowl. 7 were first round picks - Trufant, Peterson, Jones, Talib, Peters, Revis, Davis. 5 were not - Norman (5th round), Harris (UDFA), Grimes (UDFA), Butler (UDFA) and Sherman (5th round). That's just under 60%.

So what in the heck are you talking about?

lol.. I don't think there is any real reason to debate any further on this with you. We clearly see things differently. I will be happy with Jalen or Zeke. Just pulling for Zeke because I want to win now.

LOL at trying to make a technological comparison here.

Holy hell you Elliott lovers know no bounds to illogical arguments.
