lol of course not, self defense and retaliation are two different things.

That being said it would be hard to not hit you

Many young adults don't know anything about the justice system -- that sort of brush with the law could be enough to scare him straight.

Of course, he might also kick YOUR butt. What sort of message does he get from that - "yeah I threw a rock -- then I beat down this crazy old man who got in my face - hehe, that was awesome!"

Old? Who you calling old?:D
On another note, he might kick my butt but he'd be bleedin.;)

So you trade a $350 windshield for a potential suspension? Even a single game of suspension is going to cost over 10k.

Here's an idea -- take down the license plate, call the cops, and don't try to be Mr. Vigilante.
Screw that. Beat the snot out of the ****er.

It is unfortunate that the days are gone when you could administer a simple arse whoopin' to some jerk who desperately needed one. Now you have to run to the law and let them handle your petty grievances for you (and hope that they don't trump up some ridiculous charge against you in the process). But this is what we have come to with our wussiefied society.

You could still get away with it in the early 1900...and up until about 1980 in parts of the West Texas Oil Fields :D

Nope I prefer bodily harm.... Sends a much better message. I carry my gun with me everywhere, and I have a concealed weapons permit..

No way! I only carry it for self protection, I don't flaunt it, my dad was a military guy so he's taught me about about the damage weapons can inflict.
The top post tends to make the bottom one suspect that you learned at all.

That jerk would have been lucky to escape with his life if he pulled that crap in Odessa-Midland.

Because I am running and you are no longer in danger?
You can retaliate all you want, but you can also face assault or battery charges.

Personally I applaud Anthony Waters. Some today would draw a gun. I have no issue with what he did at all. I hope the judge or jury who hears the case nails the rock thrower but good.

Half to laugh at you stautner if you think a LOT of kids today have any fear of cops or the justice system. Don';t know where you live but over the last 10 years I have lived in three different parts of the country and in all of them I see that most- and I do mean MOST- teenagers have no fear of cops or courts or any authority at all.
That's funny. I have seen and heard of numerous stories of parents who know their kids are on the edge of getting in a lot of trouble. Sometimes they'll come to us. You can set up a tour through the local jail/prison and lock em in a cell for some good old shock therapy.

Sure there are some who don't have any fear of the justice system... that is until a prosecutor gets a hold of em, and many of them develop that fear.

for most people, including myself, your 1st time in a court room facing a charge is frightening, even for the minorest of charges

but I also get scared ****less being approached by a cop for a minor traffic violation, so...

I'm guessing that you are the only person in America that doesn't know this - well, at least the group of those who don't know this probably aren't the folks you would most want to be identified with.

One funny thing has struck me about this thread though ........... isn't it amazing how many bad ***** we have on this board that would chase down a street thug and beat the hell out of him?

I agree but it is those heat of the moments situations that end up hurting you. No doubt it is easy to sit here and say this guy was wrong when the reality is I may have responded the same as he did.

In the end all parties were arrested for the punk it may not be a big deal for the player it could end up being a bigger deal. We will see how it plays out. I do think emotions tends to get the better of people, if you can't control it
