Hoov;1548151 said:Question for you guys:
I bought an old chevy pickup a few months ago, 2weeks later found a brick through the windshiled while it was parked. Fixed the windshield, a month later it happened again, parked around the corner from my house both times.
So the second time my neigbor saw the car pull up to the next block, someone get out of the car and run down the street, throw a brick through the winshield, run back up the street and get in the car and drive away. The car is an older black car with an aftermarket aluminum spoiler. A few weeks later my freind saw a car that fits the exact description rolling through the neighborhood and got the tags. I know someone who can run the tags for me and get an address an name.
Now what should i do ?
i will not assault anyone, unless provoked or in self defense. But i am thinking about taking the same brick and placing it on their windshiled with a note saying, we need to talk and leaving my cell number.
Calling the cops is no good because there is not enough info for them to do anything.
I could also just bash their windows in.
Or, i could let all the air out of all 4 tires so they have to drive on the rims to get somewhere to service it.
Or, i could sit outside their house and wait and then confront them about the situation.

If you are willing to pay the consequences of your action, by all means, do what you must but as old saying goes "for every action, there is a reaction" or something like that.L-O-Jete;1548139 said:Not even the Dalai Lama could control his emotions from the adrenaline rush of having your windshield broken with a rock while you're driving down the freeway, yes it was stupid (but must have felt good) to chase down the punk and beat the living daylights out of him, but I still think it is the punk who should get a very harsh penalty for reckless endangerment.
abersonc;1548146 said:Again -- what does the player stand to lose here? Far more than the $350 windshield. If he pulls a suspension for even a game he's out more than 10k. If he is convicted on battery charges, he's going to take another hit to his pocketbook - let's say he take another 10k in fines and lawyer's fees.
Is $20,000 REALLY worth it?

I know it's easy to say call the police when I'm not involved but, in my case, if that situation occurred to me, I'll be calling police with all the details that I could muster up, I simply cannot afford to get arrested with assult charge due to my job which requires a top secret clearance.

Just for a traffic incident?
IN FREAKING GENIUS!!!!!!
1fisher;1548172 said:I'm sure the player ( ) didn't sit in his car and do the math to determine what it would cost him to get out and jack the guy up because he bashed his windshield. When the adrenaline is flowing your reactions are different!
Should he have taken a different course of action? Maybe. But by nature most are not like that.

The kid threw a rock and he got beat up by two adults -- one of them is 6'3" 245.
Let's ask this -- regardless of the circumstance, should a 6'3" 245 guy be beating up on teenagers?
1fisher;1548178 said:you make it sound like the teenager is 5' 0" and 120 pounds..... Have you gotten out lately and seen teenagers these days? I have a nephew that is 6' 2" and weighs nearly 300 pounds and he's only 16!!! And he's not the only one. Our high school football team is full of them.
Did you read a description of the teenager? I'm sure the player didn't ask how old are you and how much do you weigh before he duked him up!
Some of these teenagers need to be put in their place!
abersonc;1548179 said:Based on pure statistics, it would be very likely that the kid was probably much smaller than the LB.

abersonc;1548184 said:The average height of adult males in the US is 5'9" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Average_height#Average_adult_height_around_the_world)
If that is the AVERAGE then 50% of the U.S population is below that height - 6'3" is WELL above that average -- you'd likely find less than 5% of the population of U.S. males who were that size or bigger.
adamknite;1548188 said:Now the average height of US males is 8 feet 10 inches.
abersonc;1548191 said:You are correct that the average height has been increasing. At this rate we will hit 8'10" by 5708 -- give or take a year or so.
adamknite;1548193 said:Yes, but with my incredible Wiki-Magic I can accomplish anything. I can make average men 8 feet tall, TODAY. I could turn purple into 7. I could even turn the capital of the united states into Chuck Norris. Bow before my Wikipedia monarchy.
lolZ, this thread seriously needed a silliness injection.
